Lil' Bitch Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I Still Know What You Did Last Summer - That was a shitty way to end the movie and Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I would have figuered there would have been a Part 3 since Part 2 explained that the ending of Part 1 was just a dream sequence. The Scorpion King - Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The movie ended on a happy note. Now in the Mummy Returns opening sequence, it doesn't really connect well since all of a sudden, Mayathus is a villain. I know The SK was made after the MR, but since I'm referring to the movies' chronology, they don't tie in well nor make sense unless Mayathus's wife died or something. and The Mummy Returns (I'm used to movies coming in trilogies nowadays)?
Mole Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 ISKWYDLS was a horrible movie, so a third wasn't needed.
WrestlingDeacon Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Give them time. Although, both did under perform at the box office and the success of another installment doesn't look to be that great. I think it would also be hard to get most of the casts back as their prices have gone up. It's not feasible.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Well, uh, both movies kinda sucked...Scorpion King is only tolerable if you're into uber-cheese (like myself and several others at the board), but ISKWYDLS? You need to be drugged to find something enjoyable in that piece of shit. "Benson. BEN'S SON. I'm Ben's son!"
Youth N Asia Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Every friggin teen slasher and horror film now do dumbass endings that leave things open for another movie.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Every friggin teen slasher and horror film now do dumbass endings that leave things open for another movie. Subjecting movies like ISKWYDLS to teenagers is one of the biggest reasons for the high suicide rates.
dubq Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Why is it they never made a sequel to these movies? Uh, because they were both horribly painful to watch?
converge241 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 im pretty sure theres another mummy movie coming (2005?) as far as the SKing ? SPOILER(?) i guess being in hell or wherever he went when he made that deal explained in Mummy 2 and merged with some kind of scorpion thing will make a guy a little villianish
Nevermortal Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I always wanted a sequel to Half Baked, but I'm afraid the stupidity of part two might rip a hole in the space-time continuum.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I always wanted a sequel to Half Baked, but I'm afraid the stupidity of part two might rip a hole in the space-time continuum. Today, I just thought up a great name for a sequel to Half Baked, even though I haven't seen it. I was thinking it could be called Half Baked 2: The Stoned Age.
2GOLD Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 They didn't do a third I KNOW because Love would not take off her top to ensure that the male audience would show up. Plus, it was just horrible to watch. I felt like saying sorry to myself after watching that load.
Guest Skironox Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 They already made a movie called "The Stoned Age". More stupidity in a sequel? Come on, it's a stoner comedy. Stupidity is a gold mine to potheads.
JHawk Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The only movie that absolutely had to have a sequel was Back to the Future, and only because they flat out said "To Be Continued" at the end of the first one.
The Dames Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 LEAVE MY GIRL ALONE! I'd go see a third I Know. Dames
JHawk Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 LEAVE MY GIRL ALONE! I'd go see a third I Know. Dames Yes, but you were pissed when Can't Hardly Wait didn't get a Best Picture nomination.
treble Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The only movie that absolutely had to have a sequel was Back to the Future, and only because they flat out said "To Be Continued" at the end of the first one. They didn't add that on until the home video version was released, though, and there were already plans for the last 2 movies (well, I guess they were past that stage).
The Dames Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 LEAVE MY GIRL ALONE! I'd go see a third I Know. Dames Yes, but you were pissed when Can't Hardly Wait didn't get a Best Picture nomination. I told you about that? Dames

Dames Yes, but you were pissed when Can't Hardly Wait didn't get a Best Picture nomination. I told you about that? Dames About 30 seconds after telling me that I just had to hunt down a copy of Trojan War on DVD.
The Dames Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 ...Trojan War is on DVD? YOU LIE!! I've been desperately waiting for it's DVD release. Dames
MrRant Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 That movie is on HBO or Showtime like all the time. God it blows.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 The only movie that absolutely had to have a sequel was Back to the Future, and only because they flat out said "To Be Continued" at the end of the first one. What about all of the other movies that set up a sequel at the end? There's quite a few of them ya know. Almost every summer movie sets up a sequel at the end. Also Star Wars had to have a sequel more than Back to The Future.
Kaertos Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Actually, the "To Be Continued" at the end of BTTF was there the first time I saw the movie in the theater about a week after it was released.
