Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 (edited) Isn't the "Cat" supposed to be a world champion martial artist? I would laugh my ass off if he just suddenly went loose on Holly, especially since it would be utterly humiiliating for him. Edited January 27, 2004 by Naibus
Guest BDC Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 That... is an excellent idea. I'd rather see Shamrock back, but hey, if The Cat busts loose and powerkicks Holly clean in the jaw to lay his ass out, I'd record that and watch it for laughs.

Hell, make it even funnier and have Bischoff do it. Bischoff's a 6th degree black belt or something like that, right?
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Ernest Miller would be better, since nobody takes him seriouslly. At all.
Guest Deviant Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Wow, I read about the possibility of Matt Morgan missing TV time and I'm actually pissed at the guy responsible... I didn't see that coming. I fail to see any reason for Holly to have any ego or feeling of seniority in the locker room, such as bullying the new guys like rumours said he and Bradshaw did to Spanky and London. Sure, Holly's been there, but he has been on the lowest possible tier of talent the entire time. Hardcore Holly is just not a man that commands respect.
Detective Comics Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 During a tag match, Morgan took a clothesline from Bob Holly, and didn't get up. The match stopped and Morgan still couldn't get to his feet. He was eventually taken to the hospital. At this point it doesn't appear that the injury is serious. Sounds to me Morgan doesn't know how to take a bump. You can't get a stinger from getting hit in the chest...... JUST KIDDING, BLAME HOLLY!
spiny norman Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I have to be somewhat in agreement from the guy who posted last. It is impossible to put the blame on either guy because we weren't there, we don't know the situation. Perhaps Holly stuffed up. Perhaps Morgan stuffed up. Perhaps it was a pure accident which nobody could have foreseen coming. I suggest we wait for more information before jumping to blame at someone.
Youth N Asia Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I don't mind Morgan, I can almost see liking him one day. It's a friggin house show attended by a couple thousand people...seems like a little much Bob
Guest Jimbo Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 What's with all the Holly-Hate? Sure, he sucks, but I bet if anyone else had purposely hurt Matty Morgan, you all would be CHEERING. Doesn't make it right, but I'm sure you all wouldn't be as angry..
Guest Goodear Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 And no one said it on purpuse either. It's just that TE3 fallout still coming through.
Vyce Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 What's with all the Holly-Hate? Sure, he sucks, but I bet if anyone else had purposely hurt Matty Morgan, you all would be CHEERING. Doesn't make it right, but I'm sure you all wouldn't be as angry.. I wouldn't cheer. Just because I don't think the guy should be on TV, or possibly even with the company, doesn't mean I want him injured. I mean, he's not HHH, for Chrissakes.
haVoc Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I fail to see any reason for Holly to have any ego or feeling of seniority in the locker room, such as bullying the new guys like rumours said he and Bradshaw did to Spanky and London. I must have missed that report. What happen there? P.S. I hate Bob Holly.
Highland Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 It's not whether Morgon knows how to take a bump or not, it's that Holly is well known for trying to legitimately injure people.
Guest Goodear Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Right because of all those injuries he's caused in the last ten years he's been working with the WWE. DDP - Old broken down guy who'se back basically gave way, nothing Holly did was worse than any normal match. Guy from TE3 - Bloody nose and no serious injury Morgan - A stinger off a clothesline? I'm sorry but hurting someone like that with a lariat is virtually impossible unless the guy taking it tosses himself back on his neck. Even bad intentioned clotheslines bust lips and knock out teeth, they don't mess with your spine. There's probably a billion different ways Holly could hurt the guy more effeciently than that.
haVoc Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Like others said, none of us saw it. Morgan may have bumped wrong or Holly was being the usual prick he is and hit Morgan high and in the face with the clothesline that snapped his head back. Could be both their faults. We need some house show reports from people who saw it.
Guest BDC Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Foley made note in this books that Holly seemed to be an utterly pissed off guy and that he would hit as hard in a match "as most people would hit in a streetfight". So I'm left to wonder, why hit so hard? It fosters nothing resentment and anger.
notJames Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 The whole point is to make everything look authentic, while still protecting your opponent from real injury. Holly refuses to do that. Perhaps he should think about that every time he rubs his neck.
Mole Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Maybe Holly was picked on by a bully when he was younger. He then takes it all out wrestlers in the ring because he is "HARDCORE."
Ted the Poster Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I hope he gets some alone time in the shower with Bradshaw. Now I won't sleep tonight. "C'mere boy, I'll show ya what it means to be stiff." Seriously though, who ever heard of a clothesline causing a stinger? I'm inclined to think Morgan took the bump wrong and that was combined with a stiff Holly clothesline.
AndrewTS Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 I guess they don't make hosses like they used to. Seriously, though--as other people mentioned, I'm curious as to how this happened from a clothesline. Seems very unlikely to me.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Right because of all those injuries he's caused in the last ten years he's been working with the WWE. There's no legit reason to hit people that hard. I've always seen it as a bitter fuck hitting someone as hard as he can for no reason.
EdwardKnoxII Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Guy from TE3 - Bloody nose and no serious injury But, here's the thing. During TE the trainers keep telling the kids you have to trust your opponent and help to protect them. So here comes Holly and he wrestles a match with Matt and goes batshit on him. He doesn't try to protect him, he just goes stiff on him and beats the crap out him because he was pissed about what happened with Brock and that this young punk got into wrestling the "easy way." He beat on a rookie because he knew the rookie would be to scared to fight back and to show him who's boss.
deancoles Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I'd love to see Holly try and stiff the guy in my sig.

It made total bullshit out of everything Snow and DeMott told them about keeping everyone safe. He also had to worry about being ejected if he made any move to fight back against Holly. He probably thought it better to just take it instead of jeopardising his chances at a contract.
snuffbox Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I'd love to see Holly try and stiff the guy in my sig. i would pay 34.95 to see that.... Vader shitkicks a fake racecar driver! Live! PPV!
deancoles Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Bob Holly, the man who got his neck broken for being an asshole. vs Vader, the man who got his eyeball punched out of it's socket.
Invictus Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Just throw Holly in a shoot fight with Angle and Lesnar, then we'll see how "Hardcore" he is. Just make sure you have an ambulance handy 5 minutes after the bell rings. Seriously, Holly is known for this sort of behavior, and as others have said, I think he makes a point to actually try to hurt people. He needs to be taught a lesson, either by firing him or putting him in some shoot fights with opponents who have hurt him bad in the past (Angle and Lesnar). You'd think he would have learned his lesson after he got his neck broken the first time. Guess he didn't. Maybe he will after the 4th time and he's a vegetable.
Youth N Asia Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Maybe he has Sparkplug flashbacks like War vets have Nam flashbacks, maybe that's why he randomly goes apeshit.

I think the TE episode aired the week before the Brock match. Holly was getting ripped apart by everyone for the TE kid lynching and he probably thought he's be a tough guy with another rookie for more attention. Then Brock was all like "Oh no you didn't Sparky!"
