Your most hated sport or sports league.....

I don't hate any sport, but tennis really bores me nowadays. I was a big fan as a child though, with McEnroe, Becker and a young Agassi among the favorites.

As a huge soccer fan, the little I've seen of the MLS just sucks. The quality of players and teams is third rate at best, and the specific MLS rule changes are idiotic (some of the newer FIFA rules are not that good either). Watching them play in fron of a few thousand 'fans' in big stadiums seems strange, too. Thank god that the German league just startet up again, even though my team didn't win yesterday (a draw against the worst team in the league, wtf?).

MISL isn't better than the MLS, talent wise (In fact it's probably worse) but it's so much more exciting for the average American sports fans. The scores are like 14-11, it's great. Too bad it's regulated to purgatory (Fox Sports World) cause I think it could gain a small following if it was on ESPN 2 or something.

What's the other American soccer league? Tt's even lower than MLS and they play in fucking high school football stadiums. I saw it once or twice on Fox Sports World. $5 says nobody has the answer.

Women's basketball hands down. The men's game is bad enough now but at least it can be semi-entertaining. The women's game is just boring as hell and the amount coverage it gets for the ratings it pulls in is unwarranted.

I like the Super Bowl history programs.

I wasn't around in the 60's and 70's nor the early 80's so I haven't seen them.

Wish I could find a way to get every Super Bowl in it's entirety. Are there any football tapes sites like wrestling tape sites? That'd be cool to have Super Bowl I with the original commercials.

I hate boxing whenever Don King is involved. The bastard has destroyed the sport for me. Along the same line, I don't really like watching the heavyweights box anymore because of the lack of really good fights.

Never liked MLB or baseball in general. The sport just never appealed to me. I don't like cricket much either because it reminds me of baseball and I'm an uneducated American when it comes to its rules. Rugby and Australian Rules Football, on the other hand, that's good stuff right there, even if I don't understand their rules much either.

Indoor Soccer is played on basketball or half footbal stadiums? Is'nt the other soccer league the ISML or something, I remember that MLS bought out the league and made it into a minor league system?

So how about cookie?

Tennis. My sister plays, my roomate plays, several of my friends play, but I just CANNOT stay interested in it for more than 5 minutes. Like someone mentioned earlier, the back-and-forth usually lasts a minute or two before someone misses/hits the net, so its just way to repetitive.

The NBA is by far the worst of the sports leagues. Watch any NCAA basketball game, especially between two ranked teams, and then watch an NBA game. It's like two different worlds. The NBA is all over-paid players trying to get themselves over, and not actually playing the game beyond *dunk*, *jog down the court*, *missed 3 pointer* *lather, rinse, repeat*. It's dumbed basketbal down to a ridiculous level.

And for anyone opposed to Hockey, I say watch a game live. Granted the NHL isn't what it used to be, but go to an AHL or NCAA game. Going to a Nationally ranked Hockey school, I can say that Good, Live, hockey is one of the best sports in the world.

All pro leagues are about getting paid. The problem with basketball is that some players think they can bring their AND1 skills to the NBA and the flashy spotfest tomfullery just does not work in the pros.

Golf. It is just so booooring, and it is on TSN all the time taking up room of shows I might want to watch (like PTI).

I agree completely, and add baseball to the list too. (stupid TSN)

I might be in the minority here, but I can't stand regular season NCAA basketball. Often times, one team just slaughters another and the extended shot clock slows the game down too much.

Women's basketball goes without saying. Actually, apply that to women's anything.

Soccer is also boring to watch.

The rest of the world thinks Baseball and American Football are boring. It just a case of geography=exposure=affection/preference.

That's because generally when you're dealing with people making that much money they all become huge babies and do stupid shit.

Such as? I don't think athletes' behaviours are any different from those in the rest of the world.

Wouldn't matter anyway since the NFL, for whatever reason, doesn't allow the airing of original broadcast games. Only league that doesn't allow classic games to be shown on ESPN Classic.

The NBA.

Basketball is such a great sport, and all the best athletes in my favorite sport are in the NBA. But, nobody runs an offense and nobody plays in a defensive stance. It's all 1-on-1 stuff, and nobody moves without the ball. The 24-second shot clock makes the game less strategic and makes the offense work too fast, not looking for offensive sets and relying on more 1-on-1 things.

The game has no flow because of all these things and more. Basketball is meant to be a finesse game, but the handchecking on the perimeter and things like that ruin what used to be a complete finesse game. And what is most annyoing is that the college game is becomming more like the NBA game, and the NBA is more and more boring each year.

Jason

Yeah, pretty much what he said.

It's evolved into glorified streetball, with the occasional European player attempting to bring actual skill into the game. I'm not even going to touch the officiating, which has degenerated into being a couple steps short of "booking" NBA games.

Just embarrassing - Jordan, Bird, and Magic should be disgusted to see the game that they built being reduced to this.

Runner-up: NCAA Football, who is somehow the only sport on the planet that refuses to crown a definitive champion.

The NFL put out a DVD of the first 10 Super Bowl games, I believe...apparently they're uncut. I saw it in Future Shop the other day.

Take that for what it's worth...

Regular season baseball its so freaking boring, unless Gagne is in for a save.

However play-off baseball is like the greatest thing on earth. You live and die with every pitch.

Agreed. Regular season I'll watch the occasional game, but playoff times, I'll stay home from work to watch. And I still say the ALCS Game 7 from this year was one of the best games I've seen. I never usually am into a game for 4+ hours, but this was different. Maybe my hate for Boston and love for NY.

Golf and Football are only sports I can't stand.

Whats with all the Tennis hate? It's a very relaxing game, and unlike most sports, is hard to play. And no, don't say the game is "so fucking easy". I started playing last year and took me several weeks just to get my aim down. Plus the conditioning of running back and forth for 2-3 hours.

I thought he just said no copy of Super Bowl I exists......unless you mean the Browns/Eagles game from way back.

The DVD in question features those 30 minute Super Bowl highlight videos you see on ESPN this time of year.

Man, I saw somewhere that a cricket player got his foot swallowed up in a hole that opened up on the field and exposed his leg to a hot water spring that was underneath the playing surface. You don't see that every day..

And I used to love sitting up late at night and watching Australian Rules Football.

As far as my hated leagues, any womens sport (boring), Boxing in general (fixed for the most part) and indoor versions of outdoor sports (arena football, indoor lax, indoor soccer). Im also tired of all the niche sports coverage on ESPN when they have nothing else to show (X Games, Bus racing, lumbersports, dog competitions, scrabble/board games/poker, etc.).

I also don't like watching bowling on TV but I do like bowling myself occasionally.

I can tolerate golf on TV if its a major, I don't watch tennis but its not that offending, I usually try to watch World Cup Soccer matches if I can although I don't really do MLS, and all the other major sports I enjoy watching.

Don't dislike any sports but football's the hardest to watch for me because there's no action in it.

Soccer. It absolutely bores me to death, though for whatever reason, I like watching golf. Go figure.

Boxing. I just never got into it.

Other than that, probably women's anything and college football. The same used to go for college basketball, but more recently I've found myself getting sucked into games whenever I run by them; although I won't go out of my way to watch.

That IS weird.

No copies of SB I exist?

That was the ONLY SB aired on 2 networks and NO copies exist?

Bizarre.

Ack...didn't see that first question.

What I meant was more geared towards the owners of the leagues. Look at NCAA....a playoff would be much easier but they all refuse to change and they can claim other reasons but we all know it's because those bowls make them a hell of a lot of money and even if you pitch that a playoff will make them money they still believe they'll lose money if they change.

And then you have things like the NBA where the players take themselves way to seriously and the smallest change to the money they make drives them apeshit.
