RAW ratings

Recommended Posts

- RAW did a 3.7 rating with a 5.4 share, down from a 4.0 last week. The show did hours of 3.7 and 3.7, with the highest quarter hour (the overrun) doing a 4.0.

The Heatless wonder and the so-called #1 babyface can't get high ratings until Foley shows up for the overrun, but they will still get pushed down our throats.

The 1st 30 minutes of the show was the best featuring Jericho, Beniot, Flair. Who does Stacy think she is, Kane or Sid? What is the deal with the random walk-in handcock tease? Until she actually kisses every woman or rip off some bras, I do not want her on tv.

Gee...maybe the ratings went up last week because it was the first show after one of big PPVs, and so they came back down this week. Nope...can't be it. It must be that Orton sucks so badly nobody watches anymore and that the WWE is gonna die. :o

No, the man who killed the crowd this week was Triple H and his amazing gut. I guess he's in training for that big role as Joe Don Baker in the remake of Final Justice.

The crowd didn't give a damn after that, Triple H just killed them with his mic and then with his...work, if you want to call it that.

Orton had nothing to do with what happened. The crowd just couldn't recover from Beer Belly H.

Someone needs to hold up a sign that says "Hey Trips, get back on the roids".

The lack of Rvd is what killed them ( Ray don't go insane, I'm only kidding)

Well, nothing was hyped. I'd imagine next week will be higher seeing as Benoit and Flair is featured and being advertised.

But it will still not be the main event, that spot is reserved for Mick Foley segments.

Blame HHH, Blame HHH, Blame HHH. Thats all I hear (besides blame Orton)

For once, sadly, it wasn't Orton. He didn't appear live until his match.

HHH showed up sometime in the 2nd half of the show. The crowd was already dead. They just couldn't for anything. Even HBK got lukewarm reactions, which is unusual.

so the live audience affects tv ratings that much?

Isn't this normal? I mean, last week was a post-ppv RAW, so isn't it expected for the number following that week to be somewhat lower? Besides, as mentioned before, they didn't promote anything for this week and like we've seen in the past, it helps a lot when they promote something for the following week.

No one is to blame, nothing to see here, it's just the norm.

Ratings make a huge difference in the progress of the promotion though. Low ratings mean that they don't hype anything about the show, and there's nothing going on that's "important". More ratings leads to more merchandise sales, which leads to more investor confidence, which leads to more endorsements, which leads to profit.

I'm confused. Are people actually trying to say that Orton is a worse draw then... himself last week? Unless I really missed something, Orton was in on the 4.0 that RAW drew last week as well as the highest rated part of *this* show. How someone can blame him for a ratings disaster based on these last two shows, I'm just not quite grasping.

He had high ratings last week because it was the RAW after a ppv and Foley was in the main event promo.Orton on his own or with anybody else=low ratings, i hope this isn't too hard for you to understand. B-)

No, but you see, they couldn't do it without Foley. The ONLY reason the ratings went up in the overrun is because Foley was in it.

Nevermind the fact that the overrun is usually higher anyway...

But you need to base this on prior instances of Orton killing ratings. Looking at these last two weeks and saying that Orton is driving fans away doesn't make a great deal of sense. If he main events next week against ... say The Hurricane or Rosey... and the ratings plumet, then you have a much case especially if Foley appears in an unrelated segment and pops an awesome rating.

Oh I know, I'm just challenging the suggestion that somehow Orton and Michaels 'drove people away' from last week when Orton was a key part of last week as well. A 3.7 is still a tiny bit higher than the 3.5 average that WWE usually pulls down anyway.

Foley or not, Hurricane or Rosey main eventing=ratings drop.

Orton main eventing wasn't the problem. Was there even a pre announced match this week? Plus it was a post-post PPV show. Ratings usually go down. Plus, since when did RVD become a ratings draw? And the reason 'he can't draw ratings without Foley' is because Foley is a bigger ratings draw than Orton (no shock there).

But, hey...It still must be Orton's fault musn't it.
