haVoc 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 WWE Championship Brock Lesnar Vs Eddie Guerrero #1 Contenders Match Kurt Angle Vs Big Show Vs John Cena Cruiserweight Championship Rey Mysterio Vs Chavo Guerrero Jamie Noble Vs Nidia A week from Sunday is No Way Out and only four matches so far. What else should be added?
k thx 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 2 Cool vs Bashams or WGTT Annother c/w match (possibly with Tajiri) Billy Gunn or Hardcore Holly match (it'd be a shame for Holly to go from title shot to nothing in 3 weeks. Justified, but a waste of the hype) Actually, fuck knows. All the big names are in matches already.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 WWE Tag Team Titles Scott Taylor/Rikishi © v. Haas/Benjamin.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 There's really no time at all to build towards any matches properly, so I'm guessing they'll just throw a couple of tag matches together - The Bashams inevitable rematch with Scotty and Rikishi and maybe a #1 contenders match as well (WGTT vs. London/Kidman would be nice). I wouldn't mind seeing Kyo Dai vs. the FBI, despite their total lack of interaction so far. I expect around 45 minutes being devoted to any combination of McMahons/Heyman/Divas who want to be in Playboy/Ernest Miller. To be fair, both Vengeance and No Mercy looked shit on paper last year, and I found them both entertaining. Here's hoping Smackdown can make it 3 in a row. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 7, 2004 A small card however DOES allow for Eddy/Brock and the Three way to get extended time...I could see each match hitting thirty and maybe the CW match can get 15 minutes... I actually expect them to go with the cheapo 4 Way Tag Title Match by throwing Bashams, Kish/S2H, WGTT and FBI (Palumbo/Stamboli)... I'd love a CW title #1 contenders match between Tajiri and Kidman (biggest name CW after Knoble, Mysterio, Chavo, Tajiri) and they had a few good matches not so long ago. Wouldn't be shocked if they throw in Holly/Morgan or Holly/Rhyno or something to justify having Holly in the Rumble title match in the first fucking place. A Sable/Torrie segment is all but assured, The Cat will likely do a HILARIOUS segment as the unintelligent Sacramento crowd is clueless to the brilliance of Ernest Miller. Remember in 1997? When They had like 5 matches total on the cards? I don't see why that can be done again here...
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted February 7, 2004 Remember in 1997? When They had like 5 matches total on the cards? I don't see why that can be done again here... Most of those PPV cards were only two hours long.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 7, 2004 True but let's face it...The actual Wrestling content would still be two hours with about 30 minutes of Promo/Hype packages anyways... So it wouldn't be all that much different anyways.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 7, 2004 wouldn't you rather watch a long likely great Eddy/Brock match or a bunch of thrown together 6 minute matches?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 wouldn't you rather watch a long likely great Eddy/Brock match or a bunch of thrown together 6 minute matches? You can still have a long Eddie/Brock matches with more than 4 other matches on the card. Plus Noble/Nidia isn't likely to go more than 5 minutes...and that's without a swerve re-get together like their last match. There's still room for another match on the current card. A Tag battle royal/turmoil for #1 contendership at Mania would be one option...WGTT, Bashams, F.B.I, A.P.A, Kyo Dai, London/Kidman, Cat/Lamont ( )
Scroby 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I would like to see the long match...but a couple of more matches would be nice.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 The 3-way match hitting 30 would be a disaster. Let Brock and Eddy go 40.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Give Rey/Chavo lots of time, give the WWE Title match tons of time, and other than that i don't really give a shit. If there's one thing the WWE can do well it's waste time with pointless segments filled with unfunny crap or stupid diva catfights appealing to the lowest common denominator, so i'm sure they'll manage to eat up the time even without that many matches. Downhome 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 The 3-way match hitting 30 would be a disaster. Let Brock and Eddy go 40. I'd be for that if we didn't already know that the match is going to end with Goldberg screwing lesnar over, causing Eddy to win the title. I don't like when matches go very long, only for the ending to be some sort of overbooked screw job. I'd rather it go about 20 or so with great action, then the cheating finish. I just feel cheated when I watch an outstanding match for so long, only for the ending to be overbooked.

Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Crept up in me as well. I assumed it was the 22nd, so I requested off of work, so now I'm just crossing my fingers tahat the new schedule will have me off that night. But seriously, guys, how do we know Eddie won't be booked strong? Sure, Bill is getting involved, but lets say Eddie has the deal sealed, and Brock cheats while the ref was down. Bill stops Eddie from being screwed, and allows Eddie to take back the win he already had. It could happen...
Mole 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I could see each match hitting thirty and maybe the CW match can get 15 minutes... A cruiser match getting 15 minutes? What bizzaro WWE would allow that to happen?

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I just hope we get more near falls and a better crowd than the Royal Rumble. Most underwhelming PPV ever IMO.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 But seriously, guys, how do we know Eddie won't be booked strong? Sure, Bill is getting involved, but lets say Eddie has the deal sealed, and Brock cheats while the ref was down. Bill stops Eddie from being screwed, and allows Eddie to take back the win he already had. It could happen... Whilst I normally like to be optimistic about this sort of thing, I can't see Eddie getting anything close to a clean pin on Brock. I think the best case realistic scenario is something along the lines of: GB interferes and spears Brock while the ref is down or distracted by Eddie, but Brock still kicks out. The ref sees GB at ringside and sends him to the back, but while he's busy doing so Eddie does some cheating of his own to pick up the pinfall. That way at least he's 'done it' himself, to a degree. I agree with Downhome, BTW -it's unnecessary having the title match go over 30 when we all know it isn't going to end before Goldy gets in the ring. And besides, Brock works better in medium-length matches.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I'm wondering how the three-way will turn out. Will they give it the proper time (this and the Title match should get at least 20-25 minutes each).
haVoc 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 If Eddie does win the title due to Goldberg interference, will that make him look weak or will that be perfectly acceptable because Eddie "lies, cheats and steals?" I don't really care how he wins, I'll be happy for Eddie Guerrero.
