Guest reshad974 Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 this guy has main-event more Wrestlemania that anyone else in history and you tell me he won't be at Wrestlemania XX ?!! That won't feel the same without him. this is how I think he should be involved : Kurt Angle vs Eddie Guerrero is the last match on the card, Eddie does the frog splash on Angle but the ref is out. Then, Angle cheats to beat Eddie and win the title. Hogan makes a surprise appearance and challenge Angle to an impromptu match and beat him in 2 minutes to win the title !! now that would be a great way to make WM XX a historic PPV! What do you think ?
Guest Brian Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 There's absolutely no need for Hogan.
TheFranchise Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 What do you think ? I think Hogan shouldn't be WWE Champion.
evilhomer Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Please tell me you were joking about the Hogan run in, please. I think a Hogan return would be pointless at this time. Just about every wrestler has a dancing partner already, so the only thing that's left is Hogan/Rock II. That was a match made great by crowd response, but I really don't want to see it again. I agree that one of the biggest stars ever should be on the biggest show ever but with what they have for him, why bother.

What do you think ? This would be a great way to make Kurt Angle look like a wimp for getting beat by a 52 year old alligator and make Eddie look even worse for losing to Kurt Angle. Yes, this would truly be historic. Haven't we already seen Bret/Yokozuna/Hogan?
ChrisMWaters Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I say, if anything, just have Hogan be at the Hall of Fame thing the day before. But that's just me.

dubq Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Holy shit I hope this is a gimmick post.

I think you meant Rock/Hogan III because the second part happened at No Way Out 2003.

Dobbs 3K Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 He wasn't at WM X either...no one was crying then. Actually, I think most people were glad.
SamoaRowe Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 If Hogan is not at Wrestlemania XX, I will be just fine. Keep in mind, if he is at the event, than it's likely that he will stick around for a few months to do some sort of angle. Do you really want to have to spend twenty minutes of every Smackdown watching him make his entrance, get a rediculously long pop, and then have some heel come out and talk about how he's going to "kill Hulkamania!" I'd rather not.

haVoc Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 He wasn't at WM X either...no one was crying then. Actually, I think most people were glad. He was also with WCW then, right? I have no problem with Hogan making ONE appearance at WMXX, just to say hello and then going away.
DCMaximo Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Thing is, you have Hogan turn up and people wont think he's going away. Your average fan sees Hogan at WMXX, they'll believe he's coming back full time. The only way a Hogan appearance would work is a hall of fame place with the other legends.
nl5xsk1 Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 If there has to be a Hogan at WM XX, why can't it be his daughter Brooke? If I wasn't so lazy, I'd search out the thread about his daughter being hot from back last summer (August, maybe?) ... if my memory serves, the big idea for WM XX at that point was: Hulk & Brooke vs. Vince & Stephanie. Money, right there at their fingertips.
Murmuring Beast Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Excellent baiting. And yes, Hogan should be there. He IS Wrestlemania.
ChrisMWaters Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Had a weird thought... McMahon decides that one referee alone can't contain Brock/Goldberg... So...Austin's referee partner is...Hulk Hogan!
AnonymousBroccoli Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I have no problem with Hogan making ONE appearance at WMXX, just to say hello and then going away. Considering he allegedly left because he saw himself being treated as just another wrestler, and not HULK HOGAN, I don't think that'll happen.
Guest Loss Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 If Hogan was working XX, we'd know about it by now. His price tag is too high to bring him in just to pop the crowd, so they'd hype him to try to get a return on the investment. Besides, leave the legends at home and for once, let the current crop exist outside of their shadow. WWE has finally shyed away from bringing back WCW castaways, 80s stars and has beens, so let's not encourage them to start doing it again.
Guest Anglesault Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Oh my god. Kurt owes Hogan a job... ::runs away crying::
Guest Adrian 3:16 Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Please tell me you were joking about the Hogan run in, please. Seeing how we are unfamiliar with sarcasm, I shall close the register at this point. In all seriousness I wouldn't object to a Hogan appearance if we hadn't already taken the Hogan nostalgia tour the last two Manias in a row, especially last year's pointless Vince match that was shamelessly promoted more than anything on the card. If he makes a quick and painless cameo, I'm fine with that, but Mania XX should represent the future of wrestling, not the past.
Lil' Bitch Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Meh, guess there's always next year for Austin / Hogan.
Guest nikowwf Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Overshadowing our two new champs possibly with the Big Orange goblin doesn't strike me as a good strategy for wwe. niko
jester Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 The original poster is clearly baiting or being sarcastic, but I will say this. this guy has main-event more Wrestlemania that anyone else in history and you tell me he won't be at Wrestlemania XX ?!! That won't feel the same without him. You're right. It will feel so much better.
Downhome Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I think Hogan should be at the PPV also. If I had the book, and I know all of you hate this but whatever, I would have built up a "huge" match between Hogan and Flair, simply beause I feel that they should wrestle at a WrestleMania together to end both of their careers. It wouldn't have to be long, no overbooking here, just the two icons of the past twenty years meeting at the biggest stage in the industry for the first and only time ever. That's about the only thing that I'd have Hogan do at WMXX though, and same with Flair to be honest. With a five hour PPV, they would have plenty of time to plug in a match like this.
Slickster Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Hogan wouldn't go for that....he'll NEVER retire. In 20 years you'll still see him active, like George Steele is today.
Jebus Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 He wasn't at WM X either...no one was crying then. Actually, I think most people were glad. Exactly what I was thinking! They didn't bring Hogan back for the big 1-0...so why should they do it now? I do agree on bringing in The Rock as he is still officially part of the roster but not Hogan.
haVoc Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I have no problem with Hogan making ONE appearance at WMXX, just to say hello and then going away. Considering he allegedly left because he saw himself being treated as just another wrestler, and not HULK HOGAN, I don't think that'll happen. Never doubt what Hogan will do for a quick pay day. Like I said, just an appearance on the show would make me happy. Even if he opens the show. Thanks everyone for coming, gives the rundown of the history of WM and MSG, quick Hulkamania plug, and then thanks everyone again for coming and we have a great show for you all, etc. I don't care about his past problem with Vince. I do believe he has a right to be there and a 5 hour WMXX would be even more special with Hogan returning for one night only. Or even the Hall of Fame appearance like someone else said.
