Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 At this point it is looking as if Brock Lesnar is aiming to tryout for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. Credit: LordsOfPain.net Minneasota Vikings coach Mike Tice said earlier today that he had no interest in Brock Lesnar. "I've heard it," said Tice, in a Minneapolis Star-Tribune article that comes out tomorrow. "There's no tryout. We haven't talked to him. I'm not gonig to spend any time on that rumor." It's interesting that the same article quotes his coach in college, J Robinson, as believing the entire story is a work. "If he were to call me, I'd investigate to see what kind of football background he has," Tice said. "But I'm not spendnig any time thinking about it." Lesnar will make his first public comment after telling the locker room on Tuesday that his final match would be Sunday at Wrestlemania, on Monday on Mike Morris' KFAN radio show. Damaramu Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Brock play football? Oh come on........football isn't something you can jump to like wrestling and get training for it. You have to actually be a football player and have had a background and experience.
haVoc Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 That's why I never really bought into the NFL thing. I'm still having problems believing Brock is even leaving. But if it's true it seems like the NFL thing was a passing comment that was taken too serious. "I'm leaving WWE and I'm going try something else like be a amature wrestling coach or try out for the NFL or become a astronaut!!!!"
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 "IT'S STILL A WORK! THE VIKINGS COACH IS IN ON IT TOO! THIS IS ALL TO GET BACK AT YOU NET FANS FOR BEING SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS!" [/mental midget WWE fan]
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Vikings Coach Says No Thanks To Brock NFL coach Mike Tice doesn't seem interested in Brock... Mike Tice, head coach of the NFL's Minneasota Vikings, commented today on the rumors that Brock Lesnar will be trying out for his team. The following quotes are from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune : "I've heard it. There's no tryout. We haven't talked to him. I'm not gonig to spend any time on that rumor." Brock's college wrestling coach, J. Robinson, had this to say: "If he were to call me, I'd investigate to see what kind of football background he has. But I'm not spendnig any time thinking about it." Credit: WrestlingObserver.com
Youth N Asia Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 So he hasn't played football of sorts in 8 years...why aren't teams jumping to sign him?
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Because they don't have an eye for hosses like JR does.
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Or better yet Vince can restart the XFL.
snuffbox Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Or better yet Vince can restart the XFL. har har
Lightning Flik Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 What's sadder, is that some team will sign him if he goes to the CFL. I can just picture Brock Lesnar as a running back for Hamilton Tiger-Cats right now.
buffybeast Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Brock is only 26, right? Maybe at that age he thinks he can still conquer the world. I bet he'll be begging Vince for his old job back in less than two years.
Adam Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Yeah, its pretty much a a given that he is going to fail and run back to Vince in a couple years.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Yeah, its pretty much a a given that he is going to fail and run back to Vince in a couple years. If that.
Highland Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 What sort of education does he have? And even if this isn't all a work I can't see him begging to come back if he really dislikes the business as we have heard him claim.
buffybeast Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Didn't he graduate from Minnesota in 2001?
SuperJerk Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 "IT'S STILL A WORK! THE VIKINGS COACH IS IN ON IT TOO! THIS IS ALL TO GET BACK AT YOU NET FANS FOR BEING SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS!" [/mental midget WWE fan] So you're saying that it can't be a work? If anything, the comments by the coach really do support the idea that its a work. Therefore, your mental midget theory goes out the window.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Hmmm... Mike Tice's comments did seem a bit suss - If it is indeed a work, I wonder what'll come from it?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I figure that most teams in the NFL would be scared to sign him for fear of him possibly using steroids. Brock will be back by the end of the year.
Vern Gagne Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Didn't he graduate from Minnesota in 2001? He stopped going to Minnesota in 2001. HonestlyI've heard Lesnar on the radio and he's not sharpest knife in the tree. It wouldn't shock me if he never finished school.

Too much work for too little payoff. -=Mike
Guest JMA Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 So, will Brock do the HAPPY DANCE~! whenever he scores a touchdown?

Guest TheAnvil Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Brock play football? Oh come on........football isn't something you can jump to like wrestling and get training for it. You have to actually be a football player and have had a background and experience. There are several players in the NFL that didn't play any football in college. They played other sports. Marcus Pollard, TE for the Colts, never played football, he played basketball. Is it hard to believe that he couldn't be a defensive lineman? It's not like he's a DB having to learn coverage schemes. He'd basically be putting his strength, speed, and agility to use. I think that someone in the NFL will give him consideration, being as he's a pure athlete, and they can make him a football player. Especially being an amateur wrestler, he understands leverage and how to outpower guys.
1234-5678 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I don't see what the harm is in giving the guy a simple tryout. Football coaches should be on the lookout for anyone with potential. I could see Brock as an explosive linebacker.
