Billy Joel - "Piano Man"

Honestly. I want to get a metal band together and TRY to make this nearly as great as it is. We'd fail horribly, but this song is AMAZING.

I'd probably say "Pirouette" by 3 Colours Red, with "Life Becoming A Landslide" by the Manic Street Preachers a very close second.

Yay for other AiC fans...

Seriously, I hardly find them...anywhere. Glad to know I'm not alone.

The Kinks--"Victoria"

XTC--"Senses Working Overtime"

Joy Division--"Transmission"

Wire--"Mannequin"

The Wedding Present--"Dare"

Tom Waits--"Ol' 55"

Tindersticks--"City Sickness"

Elvis Costello and the Attractions--"Beyond Belief"

All of the above are fairly close to whatever perfection is.

Pink Floyd-"Careful with that Axe Eugene"

Acid Bath-"Tranquilized"

Black Sabbath-"A Bit of Finger/Warning/Sleeping Village."

are the three that immediately come to mind when the subject is brought up, although "On The Outside Now" by Frank Zappa is steadily making a case for itself.

I'm also an uber-AIC fan, with "Angry Chair" being my favourite AIC song.

My all-time favourite song, however, is "Centerfold" by the J. Geils Band. I've loved it since I was a little kid, and no song will ever replace it. I know it's a weird choice, but I'm a weird guy.

I used to be a really big Alice in Chains fan as well. Which, in turn means I was a big Mad Season and Jerry Cantrell fan as well. I just listened to it all so much that after awhile, I just had to turn it off. I needed to take a break from it. I was in fear of getting burnt out on it.

After Alice in Chains I became a really big Creed fan. I own and love all three of their albums, and really don't understand why the get so much negative critism. Oh well, you can't please everyone, right?

My favorite Alice in Chains song was and still is "Angry Chair." Although I really like "Rooster," "Would" & "Man in the Box" too. Facelift, Dirt & Jar of Flies are all fabulous albums. I really like "River of Deceit" by Mad Season too.

As far as Creed goes, my favorite song of theirs is "My Own Prison." Other than that, the majority of their songs that I like are songs that either never had a video or the video was never played. Songs like "What's This Life For," "One," & "Faceless Man."

For the topic at hand, however, there are a lot of songs that spring to mind. "American Pie" by Don McLean, "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, "Dream On" by Aerosmith, "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, etc.

So as not to "cop-out" and not choose I song, I am going to pick one...however it's not like this is an easy question to answer.

"Freebird" by Lynard Skynard.

An American Trilogy - Elvis

I'm an Australian, but by god, every time I listen to that song, I'm an American for 4 minutes and 44 seconds.
