Heyman Quits.....

Recommended Posts

Well it would certainly make sense, however I have to ask, how will he assemble his roster? Will ECW be looked at as a "renegade" roster or just a third roster? I really hope Heyman can get a decent roster, not meaning stars, just workers, because he can book pretty damn good.

Renegades and new guys. Those that have been forgotten, some who are attracted to it because they don't like who they're working under, and a bunch of fresh faces. Paul London.

Paul London is to New ECW what Jerry Lynn was to Old ECW.

Well we could compile our own list here of who we think would be good.

I would love for RVD to go with Heyman, but RVD is in that unique spot/status in WWE, where he is too popular not to have on the big shows, however he will never get pushed so he is screwed either way. Add to that, the fact that ECW + Heyman + RVD, could eventually grow on people over time and even draw in decent ratings. Now depending on whether Vince wants ECW to be a C-brand show, or if he doesn't mind drawing attention away from Raw/Smackdown. Time will tell.

He doesn't need to be. I don't think they should rush into the extreme aspect of it. Make it novelty. Base the shows mainly on wrestling and getting these guys over. Give them the mic on the way to the ring. Start small even, with ten, twelve guys or so and build slowly. It'll actually probably help to prevent a provocation between brands.

1) RVD

2) Bubba Ray Dudley

3) D-Von Dudley

4) Spike Dudley

5) Tajiri

6) Rhyno

7) Nunzio (Little Guido)

8) Al Snow

9) Lance Storm

10) Steven Richards

11) Tommy Dreamer

Then you could add:

12) Matt Morgan

13) Jon Heidenreich (Might as well do something with him)

14) Paul London

15) Nick Dinsmore

16) Johnny Jeter

17) Nova

Add 4-5 more guys and you're good to go. Not the best roster or anything, but it could be fun...maybe...

They only need a small roster with a one hour time slot each week. You can have big Smackdown or Raw ECW names like RVD, The Dudley's or Rhyno make one shot appearances just for ratings pops here and there. No full time commitment is needed from them.

Underutilized WWE names: Paul London, Steven Richards, Lance Storm, Damaja, Tommy Dreamer, Jamie Noble, Rico

OVW Guys: Johnny Jeter, Nick Dinsmore, Nova, Chris Cage

Indie Raids: CM Punk, Matt Stryker, Xavier, American Dragon, Shark Boy, Jimmy Rave, try to get Lo Ki if there isn't a conflict with Zero One as I'm sure there would be for Spanky too who would have been perfect.

Teddy Hart would be gold for an ECW comeback.

Returning stars: Jeff Hardy

ECW legends: cut Sabu his break, yes he's battered but it's ECW.

Eye Candy: Dawn Marie, Lita, Jackie Gayda

Announcers: Josh Matthews (if Joey Styles isn't possible) and Paul Heyman

Ring Announcer: Joel Gertner

WWE could always raid ROH for talent if this new ECW ever gets off the ground. I'm guessing a lot of guys there may be having reservations about staying. CM Punk in particular would be a great addition to the new ECW.

While some of the Ring of Honour guys are feeling rather awkard, a lot still have faith, and are staying with the promotion.

None of these guys have meant ratings for awhile, and I fail to see how this brand will be anything ratings-wise when it's in a terrible timeslot. When ECW was ECW, and on Friday nights, their ratings never got off the ground no matter what they did, so I don't see how an imitator under another company's name will do better.

This is all assuming, of course, that this new brand will even resemble the old ECW. The chances of that happening (and satisfying those that are wanting it) are rather slim, considering all factors. The talent raids on Smackdown over the last several months have made it pretty clear that RAW is not to be overshadowed, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Smackdown is also a higher priority, as it should be.

There seems to be just a lot of wishful thinking going on, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.... gotta have faith sometimes I suppose.

Unless something was announced on Raw, which I doubt, is there any confirmation of this "new Brand"?

She could be good with proper make up. For the most part she is disgusting though.

As for indy raids, how many guys would they bring in for a second brand company that may not even suceed? Really, the WWE should fix all there problems before they worry about a new brand.

We could have magic or a train wreck - or both. Vince McMahon wants to jump in head-first.

And nobody's going to stop him.

If the ECW brand was started, it will just be the people who wrestle on Heat and Velocity alot

Matt Hardy, Val Venis, Steven Richards, Paul London, Tommy Dreamer, Dragon, Tijaria, Billy Gunn and guys like that.

Toss in Lita and a few more women wrestlers, possibly Molly and you'd have a general idea how Vince will go with it.

Nothing changes, they just come out to a "Ecw" theme and wrestle on the late night programs like always.

That's OK, I can't imagine the new ECW being extreme, either.

Sabu? No fucking way.

Ths smarter thing to do with Heymen now that he "quit" would be to have him come back in a managerial role and lead a big heel group.

That's pretty much how the Dangerous Alliance started in the first place. He was fired as an annoncer so he came up as a manager and sought to gain his revenge by reaking havoc on WCW with his group. You just have Heymen return, saying there is nowhere else he can go. It looks like he is a defeated man and Bischoff won, but then he revelas his group (or at least the start of it). RAW could use some heels and as long as Triple H stays on Smackdown (which probably won't happen. Stephanie will be named GM and trade him back to RAW). Either way, I think it is an efficient use of Heymen .

Bringing back ECW as its own brand would be useless. The only time that a WWE-owned company could have possibly made it has its own "brand" would have been WCW right when it was bought out. If the cast of characters is kept the same in WCW and they go out of their way to give it a WCW-feel, chances are they wouldn't have lost all those fans that seeminly stopped watching on Mondays when WCW went under. Right now though, both companies (ECW and WCW) are so far gone that it is useless. Brinring back now would just be the "WWE version of ECW" instead of just a continuation of the real ECW, which is what its fan want/

That's probably what the "new ECW" will be. A big heel group.

The logo will probably be black and white and look like this: eCw

About the indy raids:

Some of the ROH talent is signed to TNA contracts which prohibits them from signing with Vince; although I'm not sure of the length of the contracts.
