Really?

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but that is a really solid card. The tag match has the chance to be really good and definitely won't get boring with the different styles that the stipulations will bring. All the teams (excluding Generation Next) have had real good matches against one another in recent months also. The World title match also has a lot of promise. Everything else looks solid or better to me depending on how things turn out. On paper, it is one of the better ROH cards this year (and they've had some pretty good shows this year).

So does CM Punk have the best chance pof de-throning Joe as World Champ? I haven't seen RoH for ages, but I've still been following it.

I meant unappealing mainly because I haven't heard of most of those people...

and I'm going to see a **** HIAC match the next night anyways...

The card doesn't look that good save for the 6 man (which is always a fun match) and the main event. I could do without the Ultimate Endurance, but that'll probably be decent. If the show is like really close (within an hour), I'd go, but I wouldn't drive long distances for it. Not sure if you have to or not.

And I'd like to politely disagree with Michrome's "etiquette code". Do whatever the hell you want. You paid your ticket. If you want to heckle the shit out of people, go for it. Some of my best times @ ROH have been surrounded by hecklers. In fact, if it weren't for hecklers @ 11/29, the show would've been suckier. Have fun, cheer who you want, and don't be afraid to shit on stuff that sucks, because there is stuff that sucks in ROH.

Eh, then go then. You might like it, or you might just be freaked out by the crowd ROH caters to.

I was bewildered out when I went to one show and I overheard some kid saying to his friend "I'd probably only give that match ** stars". I'd just never heard net-speak used out loud (in a serious manner). It was very jarring.

EDIT: I just read that Masada will be appearing. Masada is the king of all bumps nowadays, always finding innovative ways to break his own neck in the context of a wrestling match. I'd say go to see him.

What time is showtime and where's it taking place? (I might end up doing back to back to back shows with ROH on the 12th, Bad Blood on the 13th and RAW on the 14th)

I will be going to the friday night Cleveland/Cincy game in cleveland...then drive down to Dayton for the ROH show...then drive home and then to Columbus for bad blood and go home and MAYBE back to Dayton for the Raw show.

I'll be racking up miles like crazy.

I don't buy the "I paid for my ticket so I can act anyway I want" line. Buying admission to an event isn't an invitation to act anyway you want while you are there. Sure, nobody can stop you from "heckling", but it *is* nice to think about others instead of just saying: "I am going to act anyway I want because I paid my admission." Everyone else also paid so why do they deserve to have their enjoyment lessened by someone yelling obnoxious (and usually unfunny) comments in their ear the whole night. Not to mention the attitude of "I'm going to shit on whatever I don't like" is pretty childish. I don't like plenty of things when I go to different wrestling shows. However, I don't think that gives me a free pass to be obnoxious and rude in expressing those greviences.

This show is going to be AWESOME. The Ultimate Endurance and World Title matches look OF THE CHARTS, Stryker vs Shelley will be great, and I'll finally get to see Hydro work in a singles match (The four way).

I'd have to echo Michrome here as going to shows in order to make the loudest funniest comments at any public forum is pretty much poor taste. It's like going to the movies and having someone loudly pointing out what is going to happen next or some douche talking on his cell phone for the whole feature. No one really came to the shows to hear your running commentary. Sure, you want to talk stars with your buddies or cheer guys you like (even if they are heels) feel the hell free, this isn't Germany.

Looks a decent show...nothing stand-out except the main and the four team clusterfuck...but decent nonetheless.

And I see Punk winning the title. Joe's had it for so long, and considering Punk's stuck with ROH through the TNA fiasco, it wouldn't surpise him to get a reward for it.

I think this could be a sleeper show. Shelley vs Stryker has the chance to steal the show, and the four way looks interesting.

The scene will look like this on June 12th in Dayton, Ohio at the Montgomery Fairgrounds Coliseum:

The lights will dim, hands will start smacking against the steel barricade, cheers will rise from the crowd. Then "Miseria Cantare" by AFI will blast over the speakers and the challenger CM Punk will strut to the ring. Moments later the drums will thunder, seconds later the words "The Champ Is Here!" will blare as World Champion Samoa Joe enters his 15th month as champion. All eyes will be on the ring as the two leaders of ROH square off with the World Championship on the line.

"There Is No Place Like Home!"

CM Punk has been known to say that on the way to the ROH ring. Punk, with a tattoo featuring the word "Honor" on his arm, moved to Philadelphia to make ROH his home as instructor at the ROH Wrestling School. Punk has proved his loyalty to ROH again and again. Punk bleeds ROH. Punk has led ROH to some of its greatest moments and matches.

The name Samoa Joe is now synonymous with ROH World Champion. He has endured lingering injuries and traveled the earth to raise the prestige of the ROH World Title. He has made it an important belt. Samoa Joe has made the ROH World Title his life. He has led ROH and the title to greatness.

The only thing that Samoa Joe and CM Punk may share in common is the fact that they both lead ROH. They have climbed parallel paths to become two of ROH's biggest stars. Now these two main event money players will collide in Dayton for the richest prize in ROH. There can only be one leader in ROH and we'll find out who that is on June 12th.

There is a history between these two stars. They fought for the first time on August 16th, 2003 at "Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies" in a non-title match. Both men entered the ring severely bruised and banged up. In fact, they probably each should have taken some time off. They still put on a quality match. "Final Battle 2003" saw them exchange strong words in the ring. "Main Event Spectacles" saw them once again battle, this time in Four Corner Survival. More recently, "At Our Best" saw Punk disrespect Joe by throwing his tape on him.

With each meeting between the two it was obvious that there was something beneath the surface. There was a tension between Punk and Joe that ran deep. Both men seemed to even have more than the usual pride on the line when face-to-face. They and everyone in the locker room knew that the unspoken, underlying leadership of ROH was at stake. There can only be one top dog in the yard.

Samoa Joe is entering this match with nagging injuries, but he will have several weeks to heal up. He is riding a wave of momentum with recent successful title defenses. Joe will be ready for a war. Joe is looking to make it to 16 months as ROH World Champion as he becomes more and more unstoppable.

Punk is as confident as always. Many say the belt is his destiny. He believes that. Punk has stated that he has a sound strategy to defeat Joe, tactics no one else has tried yet. Punk may not have the best win/loss in ROH, but his track record of winning the big one is impressive.

The Second City Saint leader won the legendary Raven feud. He won a match for ROH against All Japan on the biggest international ROH event ever. He made it to the finals of the Pure Wrestling Tournament with wins over top competitors like John Walters and Doug Williams. He won the ROH Tag Titles in the huge Chicago debut. He pinned the #2 Ranked BJ Whitmer on the last show. Even his recent defeats against bigger ROH names can be questioned. In his Bryan Danielson match he was faced with rival Ricky Steamboat as referee. In the AJ Styles' matches for the Pure Title there were questionable translation of the rules. It is obvious that Punk is capable of defeating anyone and that he excels in high pressure matches.

Punk is poised to win the big win. If anyone can lead ROH as World Champion besides Samoa Joe right now, it's CM Punk. When the bell rings to signify the ending of this epic match, the scene is sure to be historic. The scene will close with ROH's true leader standing victorious and that man will have the World Title around his waist.

Do they do this for every single title match? If not, I foresee a new champion

Choken, my piece of advice is to get there early if you can if you have general admission seats, the lines to get in get long about 20 minutes or so before they open the doors.

And yes, I was going to pull the Trifecta, but I have a wedding in Cincinnati on Saturday night.

I'm not sure who I want to win the title match on the one hand I mark for CM Punk and love his work, on the other hand Joe's been an excellent, excellent champion and an bit more of extended title reign would do even more for the title. I think I read about ROH bringing in foreign talent to challenge Joe for the title as well which I think would be pretty cool

The rest of the card looks real good as well, would love to get to see some ROH talent upclose and personal, not happening anytime soon unless FWA do another Frontiers of Honor.

I wouldn't mind seeing Samoa Joe defend the title against Masato Tanaka, could easily rival Tanaka's matches against Mike Awesome. RoH will probably keep the title on Samoa Joe for a while longer while they try and build-up more contenders.

I see no reason for Joe to drop it.

He is not stale.

He is just getting better and better each season he holds the belt.

If he loses it, it should be at the end of a feud, not just to some title match.

I love almost everything Punk does, but he doesn't need the belt now, and I don't THINK it would do ROH any better.

Joe is just so dominant and carries it so well, I see NO reason to take it off him.

I just had a funny image of Spanky (yeah I know he isn't booked) trying to get into afterparty but security isn't buying it.

June 6th: Homicide sustained a hand injury over the weekend. He needed over 20 stitches in his hand and can now be considered doubtful for his match vs. John Walters this Saturday. This injury has sent Homicide even farther over the edge and he has stated that he will be in Dayton. There is no telling what he might do.

As with most ROH shows, I don't care who wins any of those matches because I'd be happy with any outcomes. And as with all shows, I'd drive for a day to see it... but there's a fucking ocean in the way. Damn all of you spoiled Americans! Damn you to hell! [/overly dramatic JR-esque insanity]

I just brought my ticket...19.50 for it.

Funny...The Big Bad WWE and it's huge show only cost me 5 dollers more.

Danny Daniels and Masada beat Dunn and Marcos with Dunn getting pinned.

Homicde beat up two unknown tag teams and went crazy in the ring.

Jimmy Jacobs pinned Loc in a 6-man Mayhem match also including Matt Sydal, Delirious, Caprice Coleman, and Rainman.

All of Generation next beat down Matt Stryker.

Jimmy Rave and John Walters save a bloody Matt Stryker, and challenge GenX to six man tag match with Jack Evans being knocked out, so it's not a handicap match.

Jimmy Rave submitted to either Roderick Strong or Austin Aries in the 6 man tag.

Intermission

Hydro won the 4-Corner Survival match by making Chad Collyer tap out.

The world title match is up next.

Les Thatcher presented Samoa Joe with a the new ROH world Heavyweight Championship. I assume Joe won, but I haven't got an offical result yet.

Attendance is said to be around 425. I'm getting these results from the rohwrestling.com forums.
