Guest jpclemmons Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Well, it appears the Rockets did not bring their A-game to either game so far. They better win Friday and Sunday or they're done. Although, their recent performance gives me little confidence they can do that. The only slight hope is the Lakers haven't exactly been on fire with their play either. Not like it matters, though. All these two teams are playing for is the right to job to the Spurs in the next round. I think the Rockets will get one win out of the Lake show, due to thier tenacious D they showed in Game 1. And don't be counting your chickens on the Spurs just yet.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Marbury is going to need to play 48 minutes a game and shoot until his arms fall off for the Knicks to do something in this series.
CanadianChris Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 I've never understood how being mediocre with less talent is a bigger "achievement" than winning of any kind. Paging Anglesault...
The Electrifyer Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 How did the Sacremento-Dallas game end up being 83-79 only? Did the teams play D or something? And btw... Robert Horry is the fucking man.
Ripper Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 They all shot like shit. And played d. but mostly everyone shot like shit.
Spicy McHaggis Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 How long until the NBA playoffs ads are parodied by Dave Chapelle/SNL/Mad TV? I'm talking specifically about having Jason Kidd beat down the trophy...
Ripper Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Kobe's not in the ads. which ads are you talking about? I thought you meant the one where all of the nba players are molesting the NBA trophy talking about how they want to win it all. I looks like some new trophey fetish porn to me.
Dangerous A Posted April 21, 2004 Author Report Posted April 21, 2004 I wonder if any road teams will win tonight. I think the Hornets have the best shot to pull a series into 1-1, but with the new problems surfacing like Baron Davis's ankle and the talk of Mashburn possibly retiring, the Heat may end up taking game 2 as well. As for the low scoring Mavs/Kings game 2, it was more that both teams were cold and their second chance points and layups which usually go wouldn't drop in for either team. Mike Bibby basically willed and won that game for the Kings along with the big jumper from Brad Miller with 19 seconds left.
alfdogg Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Pistons are down 12 with about 5 1/2 minutes to go.
The Czech Republic Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I'm getting the impression that the first round of NBA playoffs has been the drizzling shits

Ripper Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I still say its because they have streched the first round so much, that it is hard to get excited about anything. Tim Thomas basically saying he is going to get on the court to beat the shit out of someone and that he wants to fight Kenyon Martin because he is a pussy ass poser is interesting though.
Guest nikowwf Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Calling out someone in a game you are not playing in is not particularly helpful however unless you are going to actually jump him and take him out. which Tim Thomas is not. niko
alfdogg Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 So are you implying Thomas is scared of Martin? Or that he's smart enough to not get his team in trouble?
Ripper Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 So are you implying Thomas is scared of Martin? Or that he's smart enough to not get his team in trouble? All I'm gonna say is there had better not be a blow out in the game that decides the series. Tim was pissed his teamates didn't kick somebodies ass when he was on the floor, and pissed they didn't foul the everloving horse shit out of them the next game. He is basically saying he wants to get back in the series JUST to hit someone. I kinda believe the angry young man.
alfdogg Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Eh, I really couldn't care less. Nothing they do to each other will prevent the thrashing awaiting either team from Motown. Hell, I think even the Bucks could beat both teams.

Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I wanna see Tim Thomas take somebody out. I bet he goes after Lucious Harris

bob_barron Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Thank God I get to home on Monday for the rest of the Knicks v. Nets debacle because the series sounds hilarious. Just hearing the Knicks threaten everyone while losing by 20 pts every game is funny stuff. I hope if there is a blowout we get a re-enactment of Phoenix v. Knicks circa 1993. Ripper knows what I'm talking about

Ripper knows what I'm talking about KJ whooped some ass that night. Thats all I know. That and that hotdog guy jumping out the stands to get his ass handed to him and Dan Marle bitching John Starks brought me joy. Oh and Patrick Ewing, Charles FUCKING Barkley, and Charles FUCKING Oakley being the only ones NOT to fight between the two teams.

I remember whomever started the fight with KJ (I'm drawing a blank) wrote about it in SI For Kids 'My Worst Day Ever.' I remember the Suns won that game like 123-42 and no one really remembered that part.
