Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 13, 2004 Did anyone like The New Class(es) or The College Years. I didn't mind the first New Class but I hated it after that. I didn't mind The College Years though. I liked the College Years, but didn't like The New Class. The cast changed too many times for me to care about the characters. The only New Class episode I liked was the one where Zack, Slater, and Lisa made a guest appearance to prevent Bayside from being torn down. Here's a question: Why wasn't Leslie at Zack's wedding? Mike and Alex were there, so I'd assume that Leslie would have been invited as well.
Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 The College years was actually legitly funny for the most part. With the original, you enjoyed it, but you never really laughed out loud. Zack was probably 2x funnier in the college years because he didn't have any boundries, half of his dialogue in the College years has nothing to do with the story, and he's allowed to be much more intelligent sarcasm. Grown up Zack definetly worked for me because he was just like his kid self except he could say more risky things. Their was an episode where Slater was all getting back into his roots and joining the Chicano club or whatever. And Slater just goes off on Zack talking about how he's not going to go on the ski trip and instead is going to protest with the Chicanos and than he just storms off. Zack just takes it all in and says "I always thought he was Mexican" and than goes on about his buisness. It was truly a hilarious moment that you usually never see on Saved by the Bell. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 The best were the outtakes at the end of the College Years. "Did something happen to the monkey!?" *cast cracks up*
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 I wish some channel would show old TNBC shows because I need to see them again. Maybe NBC will have a channel like ABC Family and they could put their shows on it.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 ABC Family were actually the ones rerunning Hang Time up until a few months ago. SBTB is on no less than four times a day on TBS. Fridays are always College Years eps, or the movies split up into episode format. I haven't seen New Class eps since USA stopped rerunning them and the show went off the air. Same goes for USA High. My local FOX affiliate showed the City Guys reruns, and then California Dreams, and now shows infomercials. Bastards. I've got the majority of the shows on tape. All I really need is The New Class, USA High, and the first season of Hang Time.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 I've got the majority of the shows on tape. All I really need is The New Class, USA High, and the first season of Hang Time. One of my favourite Hang Time moments: the season 2 premiere where they try to explain away the cast turnover - basically saying "half the cast graduated (even though one of them was a freshman)". Speaking of transitions, I've thought of a reason not to bother explaining them: Power Rangers season 2. This was when the actors who played Zach, Jason and Trini were fired but they still acted like they were there until they "transitioned" the powers to Adam, Rocky and Aisha. I still don't know what Haim Saban was smoking when he approved this storyline...

EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Here's a question: Why wasn't Leslie at Zack's wedding? Mike and Alex were there, so I'd assume that Leslie would have been invited as well. Well Leslie and Zack did kinda had a thing going on. And maybe Leslie really cared about Zack more then what she let on and didn't want to see him get married. But, whatever. EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Here's another question for you. Do you think any of the gang did drugs after school? Now, I'm not talking about the Johnny Dakota ep, or when Jessie was hooked on coffe pills, or the drinking and driving ep. I don't know about you but, I thought Zack did drink beer and did drugs but, nothing hard just some weed from time to time. He just seem like the type. He just trying to make himself look good in the Dakota ep. I also think Slater did beer and weed from time to time. Kelly being as popular as she was may have tired it once or twice but, that's it. Jessie, coffee pills aside, never did or try any of that. And I doubt Lisa would have tired weed because of the smell messing up her clothes. And, of course, Screech didn't try any of them at all. JasonX 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 - Why couldn't they continue the relationship between Zack and Stacy ( ) ? They were good together. Because the resort episodes were basically filler episodes plus putting Stacy in the school enviorment/as part of the clique would have ruined the character (since her sole redeeming thing was the fact that she saw how fucked up the gang was and was in a position where she could regularly badmouth them about their flaws). - Why couldn't they kill Jeff off ? Nobody breaks up Zack and Kelly. Jeff was a plot device for the writers to break up the two. Notice how quickly he disappeared from the show after he served his purpose... Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I remember Zack used to talk to the camera while there were people right next to him. I always wanted for someone to ask Zack who he was talking to. But it never happened. And, I liked all the episodes of the New Class. My favorite character was Lindsay just because I thought she was hot. I was heartbroken when she left the show the second (or was it the third?) season. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Something I ALWAYS found funny, that takes place on almost every single episode, is Slater's overacting when he is not the important person in the scene. For example, in the episode where the cheerleaders were debuting their new uniforms, they were cheering and we are supposed to be watching them, however in the corner of the screen you see Slater dancing along like he is just the most excited person on earth. Funny stuff.......so now you all have something new to watch SBTB for.......LOL.

Ain't seen her since... She also had a brief run on Days of Our Lives, alongside Patrick Muldoon in the mid-1990s. She played a hospital worker who gets locked in a closet for several months when she stumbled upon a baby paternity-switching plot. Ironically, they later recasted her part and the character ended up being involved in a male rape storyline where she helps another girl drug Patrick Muldoon and rape him. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I remember seeing some episodes of The New Class where it seemed Belding and Screech were mall managers during the Summer, and the only employees of the mall were the SBTB 6, whoever they were during that era. Seemed a bit too convenient they'd all get the same summer job.

Seemed a bit too convenient they'd all get the same summer job. Yeah at least with the old cast when they got jobs at the beach Belding wasn't there. But, with the New Class it seem the Belding and Screech went everywhere with them. They had summer jobs at the mall, they got jobs at a ranch, and there was another one were they were running a winter ski lodge and Belding and Screech were there. That was alittle to much. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Al's last name was Ramos, so he was Hispanic. He's filipino I'm sure, many Filipinos I know have hispanic sounding last names, what with the way history has worked out and all. Odd question, but how come sex never came up in the show? You'd think that they'd at least have one eps dedicated to the topic, I mean they alluded to it like a couple of times at least I'm sure.

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I used to watch SBTB all of the time, but I just can't anymore.. just to old school, I guess. Never Saw The New Class, I had stopped watching TNBC by that time. Though I did see a couple of episoides of Hang Time while Working at Ameristar on the weekends (They had channel 5 on in the breakroom. Funny seeing a bunch of 30 and 40 year olds getting into a teen show.) I used to watch the Colleg Years religiously untill it was canceled. I always enjoyed it. Sadly, though I can't rmember half the things about this show that you all can, I DO remember Lisa's Day's Run. sad, sad me. Question: Was the theme of Out of This World "Would You Like To Swing On A Star"?
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Question: Was the theme of Out of This World "Would You Like To Swing On A Star"? Yes it was. Although it was some generic tv version. No way that show was paying royalties to the originial singer..thinking Perry Como.

Richard 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 One thing I liked about the new class was that they used real teen actresses. Most of them joined the cast at the age of 14. Sarah Lancaster was 13 when she first appeared. So during season 2, you had Rachel ( played by a 14 year old) dating Bryan (played by a 22 year old), while Screech ( played by a 17 year old) was the principal's assistant.
