Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 What about the fake originial Slater looking kid? Mikey? He was a dork. Other than curly hair, I don't see any similarities between he and Slater. The movie Haskins told us he had just filmed (some shark attack style movie with Coolio and Lou Diamond Phillips...I think it's called Red Water) was on cable the other night but I missed it. I'd buy it just for that cast alone. Also, according to Amazon, SBTB: The New Class Season 3 (which started the best years of the show, IMO, as it was the season they actually gave a reason for the new students (Valley transfers) and established some of the longer lasting characters on the show) will be out in June. Awesome.
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 The New Class's season 2 is already out?! I knew about season 1 and you just informed me about season 3. But I've heard nothing about season 2. Does season 3 start putting in Maria and Cornflake...those characters?

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 Season 2 came out 3/8. It's decent, as it's got the return of Screech and a better cast than the original, plus the special two-parter that was the "reunion" episode, when Zack and the gang returned to stop Bayside from being demolished. And Cornflake? Who the hell is Cornflake?

LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 So, Dennis Haskins came to my college tonight. He didn't reveal too much about the show that hasn't been discussed here, except that T.K. Carter was asked to stay on as Mylo when Good Morning, Miss Bliss became Saved by the Bell, but turned it down because he didn't like the deal they offered (had he stayed, The Max would have been Mylo's). Also, they wanted Heather Hopper, who played Nicki, to stay on, but her mother wanted her character and Zack to be equal, and the producers weren't willing to do that. I got his autograph and asked him about when he was seen in the crowd on Raw a few years ago, and he told me that he's a friend of Bill Goldberg. So, Mr. Belding is a totally great dude, not that you guys couldn't have figured that out by yourselves. But his brother Rod was so much cooler. He got to nail Inga. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2005 I finally saw the one SBTB/Good Morning Miss Bliss/College Yrs episode that I had never, ever seen. I picked up the entire run of the show on DVD over Thanksgiving. It was an old one, with a new "hunky" teacher, that the girls fall for an instantly begin daydreaming about. I got a REALLY creepy feel out of seeing some mid-20's teacher dude doing romantic scenes with storyline-14-year old Kelly. Also, from one of the first episodes, Kelly & Jessie are in the girls locker room in the tightest, smallest gym shorts ever. Jessie is stretching and from there, her place as hottest SBTB girl was cemented for me. She's so gorgeous during that entire run.

And Cornflake? Who the hell is Cornflake? On the not-so-bright side, this was when Screech started being pretty much a parody of his former self. For it was then that he started exaggerating his voice...which he didn't need (from the Dustin Diamond stand-up clips I saw on E!, he could still pull the character off using his natural voice)
JMFabiano524 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 BTW, question about the DVDs of TOS...are they syndie prints or the NBC ones? (the latter will not have the cuts seen when the show went to syndication)

They copied that plot for an episode of The New Class, Season 2. I totally agree with what was said about Screech becoming more of a parody of the character later in the New Class run. He went from somewhat annoying geek to overdone annoyance. Like he was trying too hard to get into the role instead of letting it come naturally. The final seasons of The New Class (6 and 7 together, as NBC split up the 26 eps to extend the series) get released on DVD this coming week, so that ties up the run on DVD, save for the Hawiian Style and Wedding In Las Vegas movies. California Dreams, Hang Time, etc. aren't out on DVD yet. I'd think that perhaps the same company that did College Years and New Class would release them, so we'll see. Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 Heh, ironically in college a couple of days ago I started singing the California Dreams theme in college. One of my friends had no idea what I was talking about. A few mins later another one of my friends came into the room we were in and I started to sing it. A little after I started he just smirked and reluctantly sang/spoke the rest of the lyrics with me. They have to bring out that show soon.

EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2006 I found this about Dustin Diamonds house foreclosure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dustin_Diamond Proported house foreclosure On June 11, 2006, Diamond appeared on the Dean Blundell show in Toronto on 102.1 The edge revealing he was in fact "broke" and was having his mortgage called in by a friend who financed the mortgage, as bad credit prevented him from getting a traditional mortgage. When questioned by Dean as to details concerning the sale of T-shirts, Dustin became belligerent because he didn't have many details, and wasn't sure as to the total raised and where the money was going. On June 13, 2006, Diamond appeared on The Howard Stern Show to request financial assistance. Diamond was given 30 days to come up with $250,000 USD or risk losing his home for failing to make payments on his land lease. His "solution" was to sell t-shirts for $15 that had "I gave 15 dollars to help Screeech (sic) save his house" emblazoned on the front. He said that he would need to sell 30,000 t-shirts to completely cover the costs. He explained the extra 'e' in Screeech was in order to circumvent copyright laws, for he does not own the rights to the name or character. On June 14, 2006, Diamond did a phone interview with MTV Live the flagship show for MTV Canada promoting the sale of his "D-Shirts" to save his home. During the interview host Daryn Jones' first question to Diamond was: what the name of the dance that he and character Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) did in the episode of Saved by the Bell where there was a dance contest. Diamond responded "The Sprain." Coincidentally, the next day on June 15, 2006 that episode aired on TBS in Canada at 08:30 EST. On June 15, 2006, he conducted a phone interview with The Toucher and Rich Show on WBCN in Boston. Despite repeatedly attempting to promote the sale of his t-shirts to save his home, the hosts ridiculed him and would only refer to him as his Screech character. Diamond ultimately hung up in disgust after making his frustration apparent, and the ridicule continued after the hangup. The interview coincided with Diamond's promoted appearance later that night at a Boston-area bar in which he was to simply hang out and drink with the patrons. In June 2006, Dustin appeared on "The Hamish and Andy Show", an Australian (Melbourne based) radio station. His phone interview was due to a contest conducted by the two hosts of the radio show called "Where the Bloody Hell Are They Now?", which consists of a race between the two to find ex-celebrities. Diamond was one celebrity, Vanilla Ice was the other. During the interview, Dustin was asked what had his life become after fame and what he was up to at that moment. He appealed to Melburnians to buy his T-shirts online to help him save his house, and anyone who bought a T-shirt would also get it personally autographed for an extra $5. Diamond and his fiancée Jennifer reside in Port Washington, Wisconsin. In December 2004, she suffered a miscarriage due to an ectopic pregnancy. He later created the Dustin Diamond Foundation, which supports organizations that specialize in child care. In August 2006, Diamond told Tampa radio station WFLZ-FM's MJ Morning Show that a woman tried to mug him in a hotel in Omaha, Nebraska. According to his account the assailant, armed with a can of mace, broke into his hotel room and stole some PSP games, including Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man. Diamond was able to apprehend the thief and recover the games. While pinning the thief against a hotel door, he reported that she had cried out "Rape!"[2][3] On August 14, 2006, Diamond was scheduled for an online television telethon, in an effort to raise funds to prevent the foreclosure his house. His broadcast was cancelled less than 90 minutes before it was to be aired live, as an executive at the online television network deemed that the foreclosure story lacked credibility, and that Diamond had "exhibited some really strange and obnoxious behavior." [4] Later that day, the network's homepage proclaimed that "Dustin Diamond from Saved By The Bell will not be appearing today from 6-11PM ET. The "Save My House" effort was merely a publicity stunt and his home is not in danger." [5]

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2006 So, had Zack and Co. just left the mall with $3,000 and decided not to try to buy and re-sell tickets (or even managed to be sucessful in their attempt to do so), would that whole Candid Video show segment have been ruined and/or out $3,000?
