Guest Brian Report post Posted April 16, 2004 But that means you're legalizing stuff just so people can profit off of, and you're not dealing with the criminal issue. It's like, it's okay, as long as us and our friend make money off it, but if you pull this shit and try to make a profit or get around us, we'll throw your ass in jail. Slayer 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Barely. But only if you're Canadian. The summer of 2003 will no doubt go down as the most balls-to-the-wall summer in terms of the sheer amount of people I saw smoking weed in public places. My friend lit up a joint in direct view of a cop at SARS-Stock and nothing happened, apparently because the police were given special orders to ignore all people smoking up. I loves my country. Between the decriminalization of cannabis and the absence of zealot censors, Canada doesn't sound like that bad a place for me to live Now if you could only do something about the egregiously high income tax... ...and the atrocious health care system ...and the inability to elect 75% of your government ...and the fact that England still has a hand in your business ...and the Jr. Frenchies ...and the beavers on your currency ...on second thought, I'll stick around the US for awhile

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 These czar titles need to go. Everytime I hear "White House Drug Czar", I picture someone dressed like a pimp dealing out the basement of the White House to various government and media employees. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 I think (like in the US) it would depend on the job. My friend recently got a job with a hardware store and they did a piss test on him. But other then that I haven't heard of anything major. Angelslayer- Our atrocious health care system? This is an American calling Canada's health care system atrocious? Yeah right. Justice 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2004 You don't see a quarter of Canadians without any sort of medical coverage either. But you do see tons of Canadians going to America for surgery and other services. A neat "Did you know": Did you know that the University of Michigan has more MRI (I think that's the one) machines than all of Canada? Nice job, boys... Justice 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2004 Stupid dick-waving. "Hey, we got more cat scan machines then you do, Canada! Eat it!" Oh fuck off. We have better equipment, better staff, and better facilities; that's just an example of how Canada's system is underequiped. Why do you think that they come here for surgery and other important medical procedures?
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted April 18, 2004 You don't see a quarter of Canadians without any sort of medical coverage either. Ironically enough, every American is entitled to medical treatment if they go to an emergency room. They cannot legally refuse service to anybody, regardless of inability to pay. Cool, huh? -=Mike
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2004 Yeah, as someone who has had family spend alot of time in hospitals, and an aunt that worked in one for 35 years, I can assure that our healthcare system sucks donkeyballs right now. At least in Ontario. In terms of surgery anyways. We are better than the US when it comes to prescription medication and innoculations.

In all seriousness, having the Queen as Head of State is a topic of debate that comes up every so often, but to be honest, it's not a huge deal. It's not like we're tithing to England or anything. Guest SideFXs Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Has anyone considered that smoking marijuana exposes you to FOUR TIMES the level, of carcinogens, compared to smoking tobacco. Therefore, shouldn’t there be a negative stigma associated with smoking pot too? Well maybe so, when it falls out of favor as the drug of choice for this generation. I wonder if you can bring a law suite against your drug dealer, if you are dying of lung cancer? Maybe when pot becomes incorporated as, “Big Marijuana.”
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I don't believe there's ever been a case of cancer linked soley to pot use. I could be wrong, but I'm sure I've seen that in various places.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 No one smokes joints even a quarter of the amount that people smoke cigs. Ashcroft is also a very good source. That hypocritical son of a BITCH! Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 19, 2004 That four times the carcinogens is misleading, too. The manner in which pot is smoked has a lot to do with that. Unfiltered, and held in the lungs. Most people don't smoke that much weed to have it be comparable, but 19 times out of 20, a pot smoker smokes cigarettes too, so I guess it adds up. Still though, anyone who doesn't realize that smoke is harmful when inhaled is lost anyway.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted April 19, 2004 It's a pain in the ass being socially liberal and expecting people to have some common sense, I tell ya. PERSONALLY, I say we put intentionally bad directions on products (i.e, "hair dryers are GREAT when used while taking a shower"). Would thin out some of the idiots, at the very least. -=Mike
