Steve J. Rogers Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I hope I'm not giving away ideas, but I was thinking of the one thing that can take the "Tables, Ladders, and Chairs" gimmick tag matches and completely overbook it is to put it into a Hell In The Cell/War Games kind of enviroment. Maybe more Elimination Chamber-esque Essentially construct the cell high enough and able to drop the hook that the titles would be on. Maybe a Triple Decker without the layers, who knows (or cares, I realize this is overbooking at its finest) The neat thing, of course, could be a gimmick top that can be pryed open for say arial high spots OFF of the cell's roof (say Wrestler A is on the ladder about to get the title, but in swoops Wrestler B from "BY GOSH! THE TOP OF THE DAMN CELL" to spear Wrestler A to the ground" "OH MY GOD! THEY ARE BROKEN IN DAMN HALF!" or something to that effect Let see if we can think of other creative ways to overbook great gimmick matches...
deancoles Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Nothing will top the Unforgiven 99 match with Snow and Bossman.
DMann2003 Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I would always mark for the Battle Royal surrounded by a pool
deancoles Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 They could have did that at one of those Spring Break Nitros.
Scroby Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I think they did once. I always marked out when someone dove into the pool or got tossed into it.
JoeDirt Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 What about Russo's idea for a Gates of Hell match - there is a hole in the ring that opens and closes every so often, and you have to shove your opponent into the pits of fire in order to win. But with that TLC/HIAC match, why not make the ropes barbed wire?
Cran Da Maniac Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Wasn't that an idea when the Hardyz/E & C/Dudleys were feuding, a TLC Hell in the Cell?
WrestlingDeacon Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Hell in a cell on a pole match. The button to lower the cell is on top of a pole and you have to climb up and press it. Climbing up and pressing it again would cause the cell to rise.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 *Ahem.* The "Super Lucky Chance Roulette of Death and Assorted Hellishness" match. First, you spin the wheel, right? And you spin it three times. And the things you can land on are really ridiculously overdone gimmicky match things. So, like, the first one can be like... uh... "Giant Chair With... uh, Thumbtacks on a Pole", the second can be "Cage. With barbed wire. And salt." and the third could be.... oh, hell, "Coal Miner's Glove." That's how you kill it.
bob_barron Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 A Hell in a Cell barbed wire fans bring the weapons 2/3 falls I quit match would own.
razazteca Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 2 ring blue steel cage barbed wire with various weapons on poles in the corners and glass, thumbtack, barbwire nets surrounsding the rings. And have Jerry Lawler in a cage above the ring but his team wins because he hid some brass knuckles in his pocket.
Guest Daddy X Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 2 ring blue steel cage barbed wire with various weapons on poles in the corners and glass, thumbtack, barbwire nets surrounsding the rings. Replace "Lawler with brass knuckles" with "Booty Man with frying pans."
WrestlingDeacon Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Falls Count Anywhere on Judy Bagwell while sitting on top of a forklift match.
razazteca Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I think the ultimate Russo match would be weapons on a pole match with the Coal Miner's Glove, Sock full of Silver Dollars, Taser, trash can full of plunder.
WrestlingDeacon Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Dustyese match-two women fight in the men's bathroom with 100 foot K-Mart extension cords and various plunder. We get to see the winner actually step to the pay window.
WhenDanSaysJump Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 More suggestions can be found from the deathmatch generator at the Wrestlewhine parody site from back in the day. It's just HERE! My first three clicks of the random button turned up : Knitting needle, spider web, door-to-door salesman death match. Barbed wire, really cold stones, expoding animal death match. Thumb tack, splinters in a pile, pneumatic staplegun death match.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 I always thought a Royal Rumble style over-the-top battle royal with tables around ringside would be cool.
Guest netslob Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 how about replacing the ring-ropes with chains? think that would work?
Steviekick Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 I always thought a Royal Rumble style over-the-top battle royal with tables around ringside would be cool. That would actually be really cool. A table battle royal match where the object is to throw your opponent over the top and through a table. That would have been cool during WWE's Hardcore matches during 2001 with Raven, Rhyno, etc.

XPW definitely did it, though.

That Coal Miner's Glove match is so overbooked it's not even funny! False teeth, mail bomb without a stamp, really deadly death match. Honest. That's the match I got in my first try on that deathmatch generator.
