Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Considering that you're complaining about their beards, it doesn't sound like you're listening to the music in the first place.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Jay-Z looks like a mashed potato sculpture. I don't know what Beyonce sees in him!
Nevermortal Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Jet annoy me because "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" has an intro that sounds like "Sympathy for the Devil", and whenever I think I'm gonna hear Sympathy, I get DECEIVED and forced to listen to Jet.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Jay-Z looks like a mashed potato sculpture. I don't know what Beyonce sees in him! How does one think of such an obscure and fucked up comparison? That said, I agree.
snuffbox Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I think they should be paying some royalty fees to Angus and Malcolm Young.
Adam Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I can see why people compare them to ACDC, but they aren't really *that* much like the band. I can definately see the influence, but the sound is a bit different.
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Oh my God, they are the pinnacle of derivative. They add nothing to the borrowed riffs, and even top Kings of fucking Leon for sheer embarassment. Anyway, I thought all the idiot kids were into *shudder* Keane now? Jet is like, so last year...
DCMaximo Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I read a copy of the NME. "Jet are the best band you'll hear this year" they cry. I listen to my housemates copy of the Jet album. I realise it's more of the same god-awful wannabe-seventies rock tat that'd been clogging up MTV2 for far too long (hello Kings of Leon). I turn it off and vow never to buy the NME again.
Spicy McHaggis Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 2 spins later, All I can say is REPETITIVE. Their singles are easily the best songs off the album. The ballads are weaksauce and boring. Their lyrics are completely lacking in variety.
Guest Coffey Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Jet, The Strokes, The Vines, The Hives, The White Stripes, Sum 41, Good Charlotte, etc. They all sound the same to me. They all suck. Same thing people always say to me about the shit that I listen too.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 No shit. That's pretty obvious really. I'm curious now. In what ways do Good Charlotte and The Strokes sound alike?
DMann2003 Posted May 3, 2004 Author Report Posted May 3, 2004 So it seems general consensus is that no one likes the band that much but me. Eh, wouldn't be the first time people thought my musical tastes sucked.
