TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 After watching RVD run in and help Eddie against THE DUDLEY, the idea of an RVD heel turn has again crossed my mind. It seems as maybe RVD will join the new "Dangerous Alliance" and possibly feud with Guerrero. Anyone else see this coming? (Side note: I've seen an oncoming RVD Heel Turn every single time he runs in to save someone, so I could just be a little overzealous for said heel turn.) And on another note. Is it obvious that HBK will turn heel, or am I just itching for some good turns?
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 On Smackdown, RVD should turn heel. He would be a good challenger for Guerrero, and it would respark his career.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I had this idea for a double turn with RVD and Booker in the summer. RVD would have been trying to get Booker 'to see the light' for a while but Booker wont budge, and remains a heel. Booker, still saying SD sucks, wins the belt from Eddie on like the third attempt around GAB time. Eddie asks Booker why he wants the belt so much of its the belt of the minor leagues. Booker doesnt seem to know. Booker gets a few clean victories, and acts more like a face (defending the belt week in, week out, not acting cowardly). He beats RVD in the run up to SummerSlam, as Van Dam finally accpets he isnt going to turn Booker. Eddie beats Booker for the belt at SSlam, with Booker turning face after the match and showing respect to Eddie. Booker realises through Eddie's determination to win the belt back, seeing how much it means to everyone, that Eddie is the better man, and that SD is not the minor leagues. Booker goes back to his Raw persona and is a face again. RVD teams with Booker, glad to have him back, but then turns on him. Reason? RVD is pissed that after months of being friends, tag champs, and then trying to convince Booker, that he still couldnt get Book to turn face. Eddie, a guy Booker hated, beat Booker and suddenly theyre friends. RVD thinks it means that Booker doesnt give a crap about him. You have then get RVD vs Eddie and RVD vs Booker as two big feuds to end the year, given a much needed edge to RVD's stalecharacter, and added alot of development to Booker's. ANYWAY, Shawn should turn heel and have Jericho vs Shawn and Edge vs Shawn in the summer, I wouldnt mind Taker going heel, having him plow through everyone before Eddie beats him, then sending him off to Raw. F.B.I could do with a turn on SD. Turn Kidman heel while youre at it. And Rikishi. Thats all I got.

thuganomics 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I'll be shocked if we don't see a Michaels heel turn tonight (I also expect him to win the title.) The Lita heel turn is a good bet too, with her joining Kane.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Lita turning and joining Kane could be interesting, but they just did that with Trish and Christian. It's not the same storyline, but it's similar. They need to turn RVD and feud him with Eddie. The JLB garbage has killed Smackdown.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 The minute I saw RVD get involved with Eddie I had tantalizing visions of the old surefire angle: "Buddies who unite against a common enemy then misunderstandings and jealousy sparks a heel turn and feud." I definitely think RVD will turn on Eddie, but not for quite a while. First, he has to sign a new deal. In the meantime Booker will likely be positioned as Eddie's opponent over the summer. RVD will hopefully turn heel on Eddie sometime in the fall, and will need some wins to establish himself on SMDN. Basically I figure RVD has to turn at some point since him against Eddie is one of the few matches on SMDN that anyone would care about seeing.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I would expect an RVD heel turn as well, because he's already the fourth, possibly considered the fifth babyface on the SD! roster (behind Eddie, UT, Cena and an argument can be made for Mysterio). The thing is that they'll have to give a damn good explanation for it, because the guy originally came in as a heel and got great pops during his ECW/InVasion run, even when he was going against crowd favorites like Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho. Pairing him with Heyman could work. I could see them doing the whole "I had to stop caring about what the fans thought and go back to my roots" type of deal. redbaron29 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I think an RVD heel turn would be good for the show, which is exactly why I don't think it will happen. The good that would come of it, is it would pit him in the world title contention( something that I don't think wwe really wants to do *cough* bullshit politics *cough*) I think they will keep him on the upper card as a face at this point. Creative has been on a roll with doing everything wrong on smackdown, what makes you think they will stop now. Since Febuary I've been looking for an HBK heel switch. I've been burned on that one so many times since then, my friends are starting to make fun of me at this point. Tonight's the night. If it doesnt happen tonight then you wont see me even mentioning it again. Also not that anyone cares, but look for Maven to return as a heel(possibly with a defunct faction of evolution) This is exactly what Maven needs considering he is void of any personality at all. Making him a heel would be the obvious way to at least give him a chance to become an actual full fledge wrestler.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 For some reason I just see them having RVD and Misterio as a tag team. But a heel turn would be cool. Maybe when RVD resigns his contract they'll give him a push for it.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I wouldn't be surprised at an RVD turn also, but if it happens I don't think it'll be for a while. I could see Paul Heyman getting more and more powerful, with more and more guys (mainly former ECW stars) to join him. He trades wins and loses with Eddie as they are doing now, and this lasts over the entire Summer, leading up to Summerslam. Either before this show, or right after it, RVD finally turns on Eddie and their feud begins (either to begin or end at Summerslam). In the end, I think it would be insanely cool to have their big title match end up being some sort of gimmick, like a simple cage match or a simple No DQ match. In the match, when it looks like Eddie is about to sneak his way to victory once again, Heyman has all of his boys (a pretty large group by this point) run in and help RVD just dismantle Eddie. Sure Eddie has a bit of help, but it's no use as Heyman's group is much too strong at this time. So yeah, RVD ends up destroying Eddie with help, and becomes the new WWE Champion. Then, the following week, Heyman, RVD, and everyone else stands in the ring at the start of the show and announce that they are all leaving the cesspool that is WWE, they are taking the world title, and are restarting ECW once and for all. Sure it sounds a bit like the nWo and how ECW first started up, but it's on purpose. It's worked before and it could work like a charm once again. Hey, I know I'd love it. I love to dream. Yeah, but this is the WWE we're talking about! It's going to be the Summer of Bradshaw! It's going to be Jindrak-Mania running wild! It's going to be Mordecai and Taker shooting fake lightning bolts at each other! It's going to be the brilliant idea of "The Dudley"! EDIT: On a side note, it would be weird to see RVD work matches as a heel. I wonder if he'd actually work as a heel, or just do his same thing.
tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Much like everyone else here I would like to see RVD turn heel. I'll even go on record as to saying something I never thought I would of saw when ECW was still around. RVD has gotten boring. Its still boggles my mind that could happen, but it has In my opinion anyways. A HBK heel turn seems to be the most predictible at the moment and Im all for it. At least if he turns heel you might see him teaming with Triple H, instead of fueding with him until the end of the year and into the next. Dont they know they can only strech a feud for so long? As for Lita, I would rather she up and quit like Brock Lesnar then have a heel turn but maybe thats just me, I hate Lita. I would probally say that maybe they should try to turn Spike heel and join his brothers but a heel Spike is a pretty tough sell. John Cena should turn heel again for no other reason then he was much better as a heel, now he feeds off the crowd WAY to much and throws bags of peanuts at Fifi, I dont know about you but I dont think that Fifi deserves such a thing to happen, Matilda maybe, but not Fifi! Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I would probally say that maybe they should try to turn Spike heel and join his brothers but a heel Spike is a pretty tough sell. I'd like to see him join someone to fight against the Dudleyz, or something like that. Then during the feud, he keeps making mistakes over and over again which always leads to those that he is trying to help getting destroyed by Heyman's group. It happens over and over again, and over time his partners start turning on him. Not turning heel, just showing their frustration with Spike. Keep this going on for a while, to the point where the fans just feel very sorry for Spike. Make it so no one wants to work with him anymore, and have him just act very depressed. Then, finally a big match or something comes up and he finally gets someone to be his partner again, because they really feel sorry for the guy. Then in that match, Spike is the one that turns heel and helps Heyman's group destroy whoever his partner is. They blah blah blah, Spike spouts out a promo saying that all of his "mistakes" over the weeks have been on purpose. He's been secretly working with Heyman by making those that are against Heyman look like morons and losers, and at the same time he actually got the stupid fans to feel sorry for him. He goes on to say that Paul Heyman created him, ECW runs through his veins, and that he has revealed those in WWE as being the morons that they are. I think that sort of thing would really get the fans pissed at Spike. Make the fans care about the guy, make them feel sorry for him, and then have him stick it to them really good. Once again, I love dreaming.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Well, I was going to suggest Lita, but apparently thirty people said it before me. I wouldn't be surprised if Shawn Michaels turned as early as tonight on Raw. I don't get to watch Smackdown, so I can only see what they show on Velocity or that new show on Sunday. That's why I can't speculate on people like Rob Van Dam.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 I don't understand the HBK heel turn that so many people are predicting for tonight. I don't think we'll see him turn heel tonight. I see HBK/Benoit have a fantastic match, only to be ended when HHH does a run in of some sort leading to a DQ or no contest. Then at the next PPV, they have a match to determine the #1 contender while Benoit defends the titlte against someone different for that one PPV.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Or better yet, we can have Benoit vs Shawn vs Triple H AGAIN! WOW! Everyone loves that! We can even say that Benoit is just a 2-hit wonder and he cant do it for a third time. Then Benoit will win and everyone will be happy. And then Shawn can have another shot, and blow it again. Yeah. BRILLIANCE!
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 Much like everyone else here I would like to see RVD turn heel. I'll even go on record as to saying something I never thought I would of saw when ECW was still around. RVD has gotten boring. Its still boggles my mind that could happen, but it has In my opinion anyways. Well he started as a heel in ECW, and quite frankly, on the mic, in promos, and just in general, RVD plays a much better "arrogant prick" heel then he does a babyface. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 RVD was always WAY better as a heel than as a standard face. People forget this. Yeah in ECW he was the most popular guy on the roster but his character was an all out prick: He cheated during matches, had a revolting and annoying manager (Bill Alfonso), belittled his tag partner Sabu at every opportunity, badmouthed opponents, and made copious drug references to boot. And he never lost. Hell, RVD for the most part was getting stale by the end of his run in ECW. Since no one was watching ECW by that point, or had no capability to watch, no one noticed. reign 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I think for those that say RVD can't get over as a heel due to his initial run as part of the Invasion are wrong...at that time he was the freshest thing WWE(F) fans had seen in a long time...and those who remembered ECW marked big time for him...it's similair to when HHH came back..he was a big time heel at the time on his injury but came back and was cheered as a face...HHH made the turn but RVD just stayed face...a great face though as he was and still is over big time...I would like to see RVD get hooked up with Heyman and the Duds...it may be the only way to give him heat as turning him would be pretty tough because the people love him(more than Cena I think). I just don't think HBK will ever turn again unless the fans turn him...they have tuned down his faith stuff though so maybe..
Guest Thrashist Report post Posted May 4, 2004 The HBK/HHH must have closure soon, and the only way that will happen is if HBK turns heel. Think about August of 2002 when HBK refused to be a manager because he had too much pride. This led HHH to attempt to show HBK how weak he really is for a number of months. HBK proved HHH wrong, winning the belt at Survivor Series of that year. But if you look at HBK's title matches this year, you have HHH going over HBK on that last Raw in December, the loss at the Royal Rumble, the loss at Mania, the loss at Backlash, and the loss tonight. I've been waiting for the "if you can't beat em, join em" mentality where HBK finally gives in to the dark side and acknowledges that he must join Evolution to get that title back. Tie that in with what HBK used to talk a lot about before Mania, about how Benoit's simply an outsider getting in the way of his feud with HHH. HBK will make amends with HHH to take down Benoit, and so HBK fills the void of HHH in Evolution for a few months and winning the belt at Bad Blood in the process. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2004 God No... I want Shawn to turn heel but the "join them" mentality angle turn is HORRIBLE and I hate it. The seeds are clearly planted for the return of the bitter arrogant pissed of Shawn to return. He doesn't need to join evolution. All you need to do is bring that that Bitter Arrogant prick that he was once so brilliant at "protraying" and we got something cooking...Because it opens up a WIDE range of new matches against Edge, Shelton, Tajiri, Jericho (with a different twist)... Fro 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I don't see any turns for at least a couple months. It does make sense for RVD to turn heel in a couple months, but he's got to sign his extension before they do anything with him. I would say Michaels is due to turn heel, but that doesn't help him a lot as far as starting fresh feuds (Edge? Benjamin?). Raw is completely set for the rest of this summer.
