Who is the most reliable wrestler...

Recommended Posts

My vote goes to Van Dam. While not a huge fan of his, no-one can deny the fact that the guy is *always* there. In fact, I cannot remember him being injured at all during his current WWE tenure.

He's also pretty decent at dealing with injuries too, as from what I hear he finished a match with Sabu on a broken leg in ECW. I've no clue as to the amount of truth in this, as I hated ECW and never watched outside of a few shows.

Benoit is an honourable mention, staying reasonably healthy ever since returning in 2002.

RVD and Eddy too. Eddy is working through a lot of pain.

Both brand's champions are very reliable.

Chris Jericho, John Cena and pretty much the rest of WWE's talented under/midcard right now are reliable as they work for the company.

Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guerrero are the ones I think of straight away.

Yes, but using the term "reliability" as a whole, Van Dam has a track record of injuring opponents, as well as his latest IC Championship reign meaning little or nothing to him.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he quit soon - and that should be a major loss.

When was the last time Jericho was injured?

The last time he was in a match against RVD.

Christian has been through some CRAZY matches and he's always around.....and you have to give it Flair...the guy's 55 and still goes and since "returning" to active duty hasn't missed any real time...

Reliability has nothing to do with their in-ring skill. It has to do with their endurance and ability to live the lifestyle of a professional wrestler.

Van Dam injuring people or your opinions on when he is going to leave the company have nothing to do with the topic.

Does Flair wrestle house shows? I thought Vince used Ric for TV shows, and TV shows alone, due to his (Flair's) age and his (Vince's) fear of overworking him. I would say that questioning the reliability of WWE wrestlers would only apply to full-time workers.

Thats a good point actually, I can't remember Christian being injured. RVD has also been very reliable, I guess he's right about stretching before a match. Was Jericho's knee injury legit, or was it just to have a storyline reason leading up to WMXX?

Yeah good point about Flair...I know he's been at some house shows but who knows if he's wrestling or not....but I would still consider him reliable in many aspects...

I can't recall RVD ever injuring Jericho...he might have busted him open a couple of times but nothing serious.

And yes, RVD and Jericho are two of the guys who usually deliver. Believe it or not, I'll also give props to Kane in this area....horrible angles, bad character directions...but the dude is always THERE.

I want to be shocking and say Kane.

Not just because he's rarely injured but because he'll do whatever he's told to do and seems to try hard to get it over.

That's reliable to me.

Jericho and Xtian are also up there as is Tajiri IMO

I agree with CWM's point, Kane certainly excells past Van Dam in terms of trying his hardest. Whereas Van Dam just runs through the motions when he isn't motivated, Kane will do a corpse fucking angle, and do it with as much enthusiasum as possible.

If that's possible.

I find it more impressive that he can pretend to be attracted to Lita.

Kane is definitely reliable, which is good when it really needs it.

But he can also be construed as unreliable, due to the fact that if something stupid is to be done with him, he won't speak up.

that's not unreliable. He's a wrestler. He's paid to do what he's told.

That's a very good point about Kane, by that standard i'll say two more who are very reliable are Rico and Molly. Both are always there in someway or another, both never seem to miss any time and both happily do the best with whatever shit they're given to work with by the writers. I don't think there would be many guys who would even entertain the thought of doing some of the things Rico has done in the last year or two, same with Molly, I can't honestly think of another diva who would do some of the angles that Molly has done in the last two years.

The company is also expected to and are allowed to give us weekly shows and PPVs because they are mainly there to entertain us.

You really seem to be struggling with the topic of 'reliability' eh duder? ;)

Ill pick - Kane, Benoit, RVD, Eddy, Jericho, and, when he was active, Dreamer for working through so many injuries.

R...V...D.

The guy is a freakin' workhorse. Honorable mentions: Beniot, Guerrero, Y2J, and even Angle (The guy STILL wants to return to the ring).

What does that have to do with anything?

I don't think anyone's mentioned the Dudleys yet... I can't remember the last time either of them got injured.

RVD is always there, never been injured, has adapted very well to the slow WWE style and he is crazy enough to finish his match with Rhyno when he broke his leg back in ECW.

Honorable mentions:Jericho,Xtian and Eddie.

Spike was out a couple times (which is understandable for a bump machine), but yeah, can't remember D-von or Bubba going down.

Edit: Read your post wrong. I'm tired. That blown table spot was entirely La Resistance's fault, and Spike isn't exactly a huge guy.

Could you imagine the Big Show with a ringname of "Spike"? Seriously, imagine it.

Oh, TAG~!

Anyways, taking a look at the women side of things, Molly's never injured. Every other main girl has at one time or another. Granted, Trish's injury was quite awhile ago, so she's up there too. But Lita had neck surgery, Gail Kim broke her collarbone, Jazz is always injured, and Victoria's knee is always screwed up.

I'll go with Kane. Whether he's booked to fuck dead women in a main event feud against HHH, booked to job to the Undertaker AGAIN, or booked to be a freaky Lita stalker... I've never heard of him complaining about his spot. And I don't ever remember him being injured either.

1. Jericho

2. Christian

3. Kane

4. Benoit

5. Eddy

The WWE is pushing the wrong guy. It should be Jericho not Benoit.

Jericho= ratings from people

Benoit= ratings from flies

Kane was out from April-September 2002 with an injury...

Definitely Jericho. He's never injured, always there, and is willing to(and usually does) job to ANYBODY. He can be relied upon to consistently have good-great matches, cut awesome dramatic or goofy promos at the drop of a hat, and draw more heat than just about anyone on the active roster, face OR heel.
