BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 TNA getting a plug on a national tv show that will most likely get somewhere a 10.0-15.0 rating is huge. It is really getting old of you coming in every TNA thread and shitting on it. You should be banned from this folder really.

I thought it was a decent plug. First Fairplay was introduced (and deservedly so) as the "favourite Survivor villain". Then they showed Fairplay, and after some banter with Jeff Probst, noted that he was now a wrestler in TNA and then plugged the dates and times. Everything was clear and concise, and hopefully TNA gets something out of it...

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 I think Dalton could make a great heel manager - and getting a chance to plug on Survivor is pretty damn cool. He had it ready to go, too! Now whether this translates into more viewers, who knows. But at least some more people know TNA exists now, and that's a start.

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 That's great that they got a plug on such a major show. That's gotta bring nothing but increased ratings. The question is how much. But that's a great thing that he plugged them.
Guest CubbyBear Report post Posted May 14, 2004 Really, Mike, enough already. Every time I see your name on a thread I know exactly what you're going to say and its getting old. It's just like Marty2Hotty at Totalnonstop.com... he shtick never changes and neither does yours. You don't like TNA so what the hell are you on the board every day trying to ruin it for others? What's the point of commenting on a product over and over that you don't like? It's like your consumed with it. Just leave it alone and get the hell of a TNA-FAN board if you think it's so bad. Michrome 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 I think it would make a difference if it was like, next week, but I don't think anyone watching survivor is now going to BUY the show Wednesday night. However, with this plug, I sure hope they are ready to deliver a homerun Wednesday.

However, with this plug, I sure hope they are ready to deliver a homerun Wednesday. He hyped TNA on FSN more than the PPV. He even dropped a time and date (June 4th, Friday @ 3pm on FSN). Michrome 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 Yeah, but do you think people watching the show went and marked a date 3 weeks in advance on Friday afternoon to watch? I hope FSN gives this some more hype the actual week of the show, rather than so far in advance.

Dump Russo as his crap hasn't sold in years. Dump JJ as a ME'er as he hasn't drawn ever. Re-institute the open door policy for X Division so you might catch the occasional lucky break. Trim off the dead weight and stop trying to be WCW 2000. It didn't turn out too well for WCW in 2000. -=Mike
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 I saw it and while I don't think it will make a difference either way as far as ratings go, I actually liked the Fairplay character. He plays heel well because even when he was on Survivor I wanted to see someone beat him down. And when he was on TNA and somebody picked him up over their head and launched him I thought it was funny. I don't think he should be a major part of the show (like when they gave him his own interview segment) but I would like to see him manage somebody.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 They should do SOMETHING with Fairplay. Having him do publicity for TNA is a good thing, but even if he certainly doesn't set the world on fire in TNA, I wouldn't mind him in a smaller role where he doesn't take up a lot of time on the show. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2004 If it brings in twenty more viewers come June 4th, then great for him and TNA. TNA may have possibly acted prematurely giving the guy a contract, but at least he cares about the product. /thread

At all. -=Mike Of course it makes a difference. It lets people know of the promotion where they wouldn't have otherwise and even outlines the timeslot. You cannot seriously suggest that there won't be a few additional people who tune into the TV show. If he's hated enough for people to vote them as Survivor's best villain, then surely some would be interested to see what he's like in another environment. From there, if it's decent, then some of those will buy the PPVs. That's a difference - gaining viewers that would not otherwise have seen the show.

Russo left as booker for a few months and the show took a massive dive in quality. It only started to pick up when he returned. Jarrett has been out of the ME for several weeks now, and you still moan. There's a difference between constructive criticism and constant negativity, and you tend to favour the latter. There's a difference between constructive criticism and constant negativity, and you tend to favour the latter. #1) The show isn't markedly better with Russo. Hate to break it to you. The matches still aren't classics and the storylines still are bad. #2) JJ is still in the ME picture and NOBODY doubts he wins the World Title from AJ before the TV show starts. Hearing you say JJ is out of the main event picture is as ridiculous as claiming Hunter won't be in the ME scene if he's not in the ME at Badd Blood. -=Mike
