I am also aware that my idea of mellow music may not be the same as most peoples but hey what do you expect Im a metal head.

Garth Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Procol Harum - Whiter Shade of Pale - Black Label Sociey have covered this on their latest album, fantastic track. Foo Fighters - Times Like These
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Two songs I was just listening to before: Dern Rutledge - Lines on the Table Tomahawk - God Hates a Coward The former moreso than the latter.
C Dubya 04 Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Jesus and Mary Chain - Sometimes Maybe. Really good mellow song. I also like most of Travis's record "the boy who" for somber mellow times.
Youth N Asia Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 "Catch the Wind", by Donovan...but it has to be the slow version. And "If I Fell" and "All Across The Universe" by The Beatles
The Metal Maniac Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 "Scream of the Butterfly" - Acid Bath
Guest MissMattitude Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Anything by Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice. Also The Dandy Warhols have a lot of mellow stuff spanning all four of their albums.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 michael jackson - "you are not alone" ....... go listen to Ascension and repent your sin
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Also: The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You
Guest ian. Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 If you're going to mention mellow acid bath, might as well mention 'dead girl'
justsoyouknow Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Ryan Adams - When the Stars Go Blue Ryan Adams - Amy And I know I'm going to be crucified for this one, but Britney Spears new song ("Everytime", I think) is outstanding.
spiny norman Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side Without a doubt the best mellow song of them all.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 A Perfect Circle -- "The Noose"
PLAGIARISM! Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 The Delgados and Mercury Rev both have a talent for producing soothing music whilst having loads of different shit going on at the same time. It should be chaos by rights, but it's very immediate.
CanadianChick Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Hell Yes- Alkaline Trio If you just read the lyrics, you wouldn't think it was a mellow song, but it is.
Youth N Asia Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 "Leave You Behind" by Sleater-Kinney "Bowl of Oranges" by Bright Eyes "Overdue" by The Get Up Kids
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 I'm taking exception to the Acid Bath songs mentioned here. They're not really mellow. Sure, they do acoustic tracks, but they're cold and depressing songs about torture and abortion. That's not mellow.
The Metal Maniac Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Yeah, but "Scream of the Butterfly" makes so little sense I figured it wouldn't matter.
1234-5678 Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Guns N Roses "Patience" or "Yesterdays" The Doors "Indian Summer" Led Zeppelin "Hey Hey What Can I Do" or "Thank You"
