Guest BillyTheStud Report post Posted June 3, 2004 WWE News: RVD, Vince, Holly, Angle, & More Posted By Ashish on 06.03.04 And the death of the Cruiserweight Division? - Rob Van Dam was not on Smackdown this week due to his segment being bumped. The agents, mainly Arn Anderson, pushed for Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly to get the TV time over RVD. Arn apparently feels that Gunn and Holly get great pops from the crowd. Vince McMahon was not at the show since he was at the Summerslam press conference. - Hardcore Holly apparently spoke with Vince McMahon last week about the future of his tag team with Billy Gunn and that being split up to put over Booker T was not what the creative team had promised them. Later on, Holly told everyone backstage that he yelled at Vince McMahon and made him change what was planned. Of course, nobody believed Holly yelled at Vince. - At this point, it doesn't appear as if Kurt Angle will be having neck surgery soon since nobody backstage really knows about it. - Bruce Prichard has been pushing for WWE to remove the Cruiserweight Division from Smackdown and just have all the workers work together. This would more or less bury most of the small guys. Credit: PWInsider.com

Gunn and Holly get put on SD! because Arn thinks they pop the crowd...and benches RVD who, one would have to assume, he believes does not? Interesting thing to happen in the month one's contract expires.
tpww7 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Gunn and Holly get bigger pops than RVD? Um.. Arn has taken too many bumps.

Cran Da Maniac 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 - Hardcore Holly apparently spoke with Vince McMahon last week about the future of his tag team with Billy Gunn and that being split up to put over Booker T was not what the creative team had promised them. Later on, Holly told everyone backstage that he yelled at Vince McMahon and made him change what was planned. Of course, nobody believed Holly yelled at Vince. I hate to act like the rest of the smark crowd, but if I was the owner of a company, and an employee did this right here, going behind my back acting like a big shot, I'd definitely fire this guy. I mean here's a guy who's injured a couple of guys because of his stiffness, and basically tried to kill himself just to be a dick to another, so cut the cord and see how far his bitchiness takes him
Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Yeah but you got to remember that Vince wasn't there due to the Summerslam dealy, so thats why he probably got away with it...for now.
jester 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 - Bruce Prichard has been pushing for WWE to remove the Cruiserweight Division from Smackdown and just have all the workers work together. This would more or less bury most of the small guys. You mean they're not buried now? The cruiserweight belt was just on a woman whose only distinguishing characteristic is her grotesquely enormous personal flotation devices and a senior citizen. Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 I hope RVD leaves. His matches have become so generic since being in the WWE. He could easily steer viewers to TNA.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 If they are getting rid of the cruiserweight division then they should rename the belt the TV Championship but still keep it on the lil rasters.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Gunn & Holly should be 20 time tag team champs by now. I'd feel like gigantic loser if I was Billy Gunn. He has failed on at least 6-7 single pushes and constantly gets put back into tag teams. Thankfully for his ego, he team is usually one of two teams in the tag team division so he wins many titles. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Come on, folks! Jump on Arns back. I just can't muster up the hate anymore. Various factors have just killed my will. So I'll just say that Arn may be on drugs.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 I think the general rule is that the tag team division must consist of Gunn & midcard hoss, Dudleys, OVW generic guys.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Ah see the Master plan at work... they first ridicule and discredit the Cruiserweight title slapping it on Jackie and to a lesser extent Chavo Senior... then when they feel they betrayed the Wrestling fans and crusierweights enough. They will apologetically remove the title and division in a almost transparent attempt to amend for their "mistakes" and thus Bruch Pritchards dream of everyone under 225 pounds being relegated to being just Jobbers to the Bigger wrestlers will come to past. Thanks Brother Love.... Thanks alot.

Vince McMahon was not at the show since he was at the Summerslam press conference. You have to be kidding me.... I can see if RVD wasn't on as sort of punishment for being late for house shows. It would be a bit questionable, but really, I could see it. If you're late, you have to expect repercussions. But if this is actually the reason, this is ridiculous. Anderson must be deaf. Maybe Holly and Gunn get pops. But to bump RVD, the guy who is still getting pretty loud reactions despite the lack of push, is just stupid. I don't think it's even debatable that RVD is more popular. There is no doubt.
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted June 3, 2004 It seems like WWE doesn't WANT 2 awesome shows for some reason, maybe there too lazy to keep 2 shows consistantly awesome or maybe it's some weird inside joke or something. I mean if you think about it, after the first brand split Smackdown got awesome with the Smackdown 6 stuff going on while over on Raw we had Trips fucking a corpse. Now after the second brand split, it's switched around so now Raw is bringing the awesome and Smackdown completely blows. Move Eddie to Raw goddammit. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 Perhaps this can be something we together as the IWC can go onto the wwe.com feedback page and give them a piece of our mind. when they ask you on the Smackdown page.. What did you think about this week show? Tell them.. And vent everything wrong and evil that has happen in a honest intelligent manner.

It could also be that RVD shoots all over WWE and Vince on TV and radio whenever they fuck him over. Either that, or they're just trying to make him so pissed he won't sign another contract. Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 I still think this is happening all because Vince wasn't at Smackdown. I think if he was there RVD would have been on Smackdown and Holly wouldn't have said a word.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 "Either that, or they're just trying to make him so pissed he won't sign another contract." Can't they just, you know, not offer him a new contract? Okay, so was Vince not at Smackdown at all or just not at the press conference?
Krankor 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 Anderson must be deaf. Well he is pretty damn old. I think he's gone senile. He probably forgot that no one gives a damn about Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly. Hopefully RVD will go to TNA because even if he signs another contract with the WWE he won't be in any useful angles. It's good to see that everyone in the back collectively doesn't believe any of the shit coming out of Holly's mouth.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 now that TNA is on TV, that at least gives RVD a little something to think about before resigning with WWE. With that state that NWA-TNA is in, RVD could instantly give them a spark and shake things up.
