Report: Karl Malone to retire?

Recommended Posts

He was the only reason I wanted the Lakers to win.

He should have retired last year with his running mate John. I know he wanted an NBA championship and all, but his legacy was with John and they should have ended together.

What do you guys think would have happened had the Lakers somehow got Stockton to go there instead of getting Payton?

Well, what else should I say? I think they still would have gotten beat by the Pistons, mainly because I don't think 41-year-old John Stockton would have been any more useful to the Lakers than Payton is/was. What skills would he have brought to them that Payton doesn't have, besides maybe a better "team" attitude?

Fisher probably still would have gotten most of the playing time at the point, so what would be different?

First off, I was obviously joking with you. I just don't like using smiley's when I don't have to. Second, I mainly said that because of how Payton cried about the offense for most of the season. Stockton wouldn't have done that. They would have better chemistry. I agree they probably still wouldn't have beat Detroit, just something to throw out there is all.

So maybe they would have gotten beat 4-2 instead of 4-1 in the Finals?

Stockton would have fit better in the triangle offense than Payton ever will. The two of them are both great PG's, but the way they play(ed) is completely different. Stockton's passing ability in the triangle would have been insane.

I've said it before, but Karl Malone is the best white player in the NBA today not to win a championship.

What gives you the right to basically call Karl Malone a "uncle tom"? Are you even African-American?

Karl Malone is the best Power Foward of all-time. Hate to play againest him, but would love him on your team.

For now. Duncan will surpass him as the best PF of all time when he is finished.

I guess. The one thing I don't like about Duncan is his lack of emotion as a player. He just never seems enthusiastic and looks like it's a chore.

As opposed to the retarded chest bumping and ridiculous showboating typical of most other NBA players after they dunk a ball (uncontested) to pull their team to within 30 points of the lead?

Give me Duncan any day.

At the pace he is going... Yes.

But then again you never know. Injurys could happen.

I think it was a bad idea for Karl to go to LA in the first place. He should have either A. Finished his career in Utah or B. Finished his career for the New Orleans Hornets. Sure Karl still wouldn't have championship, but he would have been a hell of a lot closer to the scoring title.

The Hornets? Why, what the fuck?

And he did alright by going to LA. After all, they did finish 3 wins away from a championship... Well, again. The only better move he could have made would have been by going to Detroit, but that wasn't going to happen (though in retrospect I now wish it would have), and part of the reason he didn't do so well this season were reduced minutes- AND HE STILL GOT INJURED. Imagine a place where he would have been the go-to guy.

I know, but it just annoys me how casual and laid back he is. He looks annoyed when people talk to him.
