The OAO Nightmare on Elm Street thread

Recommended Posts

If all goes as planned we'll have a prequel explaining the entire Freddy story, and I can't wait for it and hope to God it happens.

My two favorites are the original NoES and New Nightmare. I haven't watched the others in a very long time (even though I own the big box set) so I need to watch them all again sometime.

I also have to say that Freddy vs. Jason is pretty good also. Hell, the opening of that film almost makes the entire film, I love it. Then again, I think I enjoyed Freddy vs. Jason more than most.

I agree. A horror movie involving a HUMAN Freddy Krueger would be very interesting. You have to wonder if the MPAA would let him get away with killing little kids, though.

Yeah, the opening (and the entire movie) was awesome. I remember people in the theatre being very disturbed when Freddy licked the back of the little girl's picture. It really showed what a monster Freddy was/is.

Can someone tell me what is the name of the end song that they played during the end credits in NOES 1? If it's listed there, who sings it? I've been looking all over Kazaa for it.

Try www.imdb.com they usually have soundtrack listings for movies.

For reasons beyond my own knowledge, I find myself watching Part 2 more than any other in the series. I really enjoy it for some reason. Maybe because its so campy.

Anyone (besides me) heard The Fat Boys & Freddy Krueger rap from NOES 4, "Are You Ready for Freddy?" It plays during the end credits of NOES 4...

The music video is on the extras disc in the NOES box set.

Ok, the song is called, "Nightmare" by 213. I'm still having trouble finding it on Kazaa Ressurection.

am I the only one who thought New Nightmare was one of the best ones in the series?

Nope. I would put it #2 for me in the series, behind only the original.

bah, nothing beats "Nightmare On My Street" from Will Smith...

I prefer "Freddy's Dead (Why Was I Born)" by Iggy Pop (closing credits of Freddy's Dead)

As would I, probably because I love the fake 'behind the scenes' feel.

One of the freakiest scenes from NOES 1 was when Nancy was sleeping in Tina's room, and suddenly, Freddy started buldging out from the wall behind the bed. That segment just made me go, "whoa, shit!"

Bumped again.

Does anyone know what happened in NOES 3 to Nancy's father? I heard he finally confronted Freddy, and Freddy killed him. What happened in that sequence?

There wasn't much to it. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but if I remember correctly, Freddy's reanimated skeleton just stabbed him in the stomach with his glove, and that was all she wrote.

No.

Nancy's father was backhanded by Freddy's Skeleton in the junkyard that he and the male-interest-doctor that Nancy liked visited to bury Freddy's bones.

When Mr. Thompson went flying, he was impaled on a spike.

He died.

Freddy impersonated the dead father inside his Dream World, in the Freddy House, which enabled him to trick & kill Nancy.

Sorry if the constant bumping annoys you guys.

However, I just got done seeing NOES parts 2 & 3, today, and you guys were right about part 2. It was a dissappointment. However, part 3 was pretty good. It had me on the edge of my seat, the whole time.

Lets keep the thread going.

Has anyone seen any behind-the-scenes specials on NOES 1? It is simply amazing how cheaply they had to make the effects and gags, and yet it turned out so wonderful, and then you see today's modern day horrors relying on stupid CGI for everything. It seems all the Masters of Horror have gone overseas or back to the indy scene.

Also, after viewing Part 2 again, my disdain has vanished. Granted the movie changes a lot up and is a very different movie then the rest of the series, but it still has some very good sequences in it, and the fact that Jesse is dealing with the Freddy problem pretty much alone, rather then in a group of teens like the other sequels, gives it good atmosphere.

I could swear that the TV Networks aired a much different ending of Freddy's Revenge. I honestly did not remember the ending from the DVD, at all.

*Jenny walk up to the TV*

*smacks it*

*Freddy grabs her from the TV set*

*Jenny screams*

Freddy:Here it is, Jennifer. Your big BREAK in TV.

*screams*

Freddy:WELCOME TO PRIMETIME, BITCH!

*kills her with the TV set*
