Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Tom Waits - Rain Dogs Don't forget "Downtown Train." Not on the official track list, but it's there. It's a 10 for me, one of his finest pop moments. Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Tangled Up In Blue: 9 Simple Twist of Fate: 8 You're a Big Girl Now: 7 Idiot Wind: 10 You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go: 8 Meet Me In the Morning: 8 Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts: 10 If You See Her, Say Hello: 10 Shelter from the Storm: 8 Buckets of Rain: 9 "Lily..." and "If You See Her, Say Hello" is a devastating combo. You go from sheer euphoric whirlwind to one of Dylan's saddest songs. It's weird when all but one track is 8 or higher, and I feel like I might be skewing low. spiny norman 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Spiny Norman's taste in Neil Young songs is atrocious. Heart of Gold an 8? Thats Neil's signature and greatest song, let alone one of the best rock songs ever. Yeah, looking at my list over I'd put it up to 9 and Old Man up to 8. Heart Of Gold is great, but I think it's the overplayedness that has lowered it on my list for me. And, though it's been done before, I'll add my own opinion on the matter: Prince - Purple Rain (1984) 1. Let's Go Crazy - 10 2. Take Me With U - 10 3. The Beautiful Ones - 10 4. Computer Blue - 10 5. Darling Nikki - 10 6. When Doves Cry - 10 7. I Would Die 4 U - 9 8. Baby I'm A Star - 9 9. Purple Rain -
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Yeah motherfuckin right, boyee. My real Purple Rain ratings would actually probably take "Computer Blue" and "Baby I'm A Star" down to 8, and maybe knock "The Beautiful Ones" by one point. Still my favorite album one way or another, so we'll pretend I left it all 10s.
