Enigma Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I thought the original plan was to have Orton and Batista turn on HHH and Flair with a new Orton-led Evolution with Garrison Cade and Maven (and Mark Jindrak before his move to Smackdown).
natey2k4 Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I nominate, "Suga" Shane Helms. Drop that Hurricane Gimmick (That could of been really over, if WWE had good writers) and let Shane Helms roar around with Evolution. Man I wish Jindrak was back on RAW. Cade and Jindrak were actually decent together, and that one or two weeks against Evolution, actually made them look like they had a future.
redbaron29 Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I nominate, "Suga" Shane Helms. Drop that Hurricane Gimmick (That could of been really over, if WWE had good writers) and let Shane Helms roar around with Evolution. Ohhh.....I like that idea. It would actually go with continuity as well because they could play off the Flair/Hurricane confronation earlier this month. It could also break the glass ceiling that helms has created for himself. Helms WILL be a hell of a main eventer in the future. With Evolution in his coner or not he could be the next shawn micheals
King Cucaracha Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 So Loss, just curious, In your Evolution are the roles as follows? Flair = JJ HHH = Flair Batista = Ole Edge = Arn Christian = Tully If so, I don't like Christian in the role. Sure he and Edge were a good tag-team, but there's just a stigma about him that doesn't fit. I don't know, Edge works for me, but Christian would be watering it down. I actually like that, with Trish in as the 'Baby Doll' of the group. But I agree with Loss, no Edge or Christian puns. Hell, change their names to their real names, Adam Copeland and Jay Reso. Instantly they seem more of a serious duo and you rid yourself of the E&C comedy stigma. Plus there's already 'one name' Batista and 'not even a name' HHH. Of course, then they have to explain why two brothers have different surnames, but there's probably a way of doing that.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 "Helms WILL be a hell of a main eventer in the future." I'll quote you on that and laugh at you in about 10 years when Helms announces his retirement after a lengthy series of dark matches against the likes of Reid Flair and Shane McMahon's baby.
CanadianChick Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Of course, then they have to explain why two brothers have different surnames, but there's probably a way of doing that. Just let it be Adam Reso, or Jay (or Jason) Copeland.
The Czech Republic Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Guys, guys, guys, NO...you can't call Christian "Jay Reso." The old name is established, stick with it. Jay f'ing Reso? Reminds me too much of Jay Leno. What would he call himself? J-Re? J-'so? "Adam Copeland" is tolerable but JAY RESO?!? Every month or so somebody says we call him Jay Reso and every month I shoot them down.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 How about Adam and Christian Copeland? That way they could keep the brother thing, lose the Edge name...BOOM! Happiness all around!
CanadianChick Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 How about Adam and Christian Copeland? That way they could keep the brother thing, lose the Edge name...BOOM! Happiness all around! OR Christian and Adam Cage.
The Czech Republic Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Well if they do that they better change their music to Fanfare For The Common Man.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 How about Adam and Christian Copeland? That way they could keep the brother thing, lose the Edge name...BOOM! Happiness all around! OR Christian and Adam Cage. That could work too.
The Czech Republic Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Now that I fired up some Emerson Lake & Palmer to rock out to, it's gotta be the Copeland brothers.
Guest Fook Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 How about Adam and Christian Copeland? That way they could keep the brother thing, lose the Edge name...BOOM! Happiness all around! OR Christian and Adam Cage. Sexton and Christian Hardcastle
justcoz Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I like the idea of putting Shane Helms in there. Hurricane may sell merchandise but the gimmick has run it's course largely because WWE creative didn't do anything fun with it. No arch nemesis villains. Nothing. I also believe Helms could be a legit main eventer in the future without being saddled by the gimmick and the thing with Flair a few weeks ago would be a very logical tie-in. I would say: Batista HHH Helms Shelton Benjamin w/ Flair in an advisor role, let the man retire already
iggymcfly Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Edge certainly seems like the obvious choice, as he's young, established, has a beef with Orton, and ripe for a heel turn. However, I don't like the idea. Edge is one of the few people on Raw that's in a good position to be a solid heel without Evolution. If he joins up with Christian again, he'll still have plenty of heat, and Edge, Christian, Tomko, and Trish will be a fairly formidable stable. Also, Edge is like Orton on that he doesn't really have anywhere to go if he's not challenging for the World Title. He just wouldn't work all that well playing second fiddle. I'd go with the route that would probably be least popular by the board, but would also make the most sense. I'd just bring in X-Pac again. He's got automatic heel heat, and he's still young enough to be the "future" as he's only in his mid-20s. He'd fit in perfectly in the sidekick role, without being green enough to bring down the credibility of the group. If you look at it from HHH's standpoint, he just got rid of Orton for being too rebellious, and too much of a threat to his position. Well, in that case Edge is a step backwards, as he was trying to "take down Evolution" just a month ago, and he's stated on numerous occasions that it's only true dream to win the World Title. He'd be much better off bringing in his down and out old friend, who would be guaranteed to stay underneath him. Edge joining Evolution would be a good one-night shocker, but in the long term, I think Raw would be much better off with E&C teaming up for some sort of Canadian Mafia faction, while X-Pac fills in the hole for Evolution.
Spaceman Spiff Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I'd just bring in X-Pac again. He's got automatic heel heat, and he's still young enough to be the "future" as he's only in his mid-20s. Dude, you better re-check that.
Guest ally mccoist Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Heel turned Eugene would be my choice. Regal would be a good fit, but i'd like to see him have a decent run as a face first.
