AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Thank you, BHK. There are a few interesting ones there, but a lot of stinkers (I guess these were 95, though...)
Guest TigerDriver91 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Bret Hart vs. Hakushi is a very underrated match imho.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Bret/Hakushi is excellent/underrated? Ehhh...that might be stretching it. It was decent, but I didn't think it was anything really special. The Jarrett/HBK match, if I remember correctly, was very good.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Shawn Michaels vs Jarrett is also an easy **** match, VERY good and VERY underrated.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 I also wouldnt be suprised if Owen vs Davey Boy was great.
spman 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 IYH 1 is a decent show for the time period. Bret vs Lawler and Bret vs Hakushi are ok. IYH 2 is high on my list of shows I want to get my hands on. The US VHS of it is the rarest Coliseum Video release out there. It was only available for a short time in an ad in the back of WWF magazine in 1995, and regularly bring in $100+ on eBay. genius33 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 now theyre taking the "f" out of the old school logo on their dvd releases??? thats retarded
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Consdering the IYH 1 & 2 DVD's are released in the UK, they aren't allowed to use any WWF logo I thought (which is what the whole problem was to begin with). Also those match lists can't be right. Since they are the Coliseum Versions (like all other UK DVDs), several of the dark matches weren't put on the tapes. razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Let me guess this is another UK exclusive? When where the tagged classics released in the US? Is there any reason why its not sold here? Other than the panda lovers hating on rastling. Was Jesse Ventura the announcer back then?
Guest Black Lightning Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Was Jesse Ventura the announcer back then? Not in 1995, he wasn't. Unless my memory decieves me, it was Vince and Lawler.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 I also wouldnt be suprised if Owen vs Davey Boy was great. It may have been but it didn't air. That was one of the dark matches. The VHS release did include Taker / Kama and Bam Bam / Tatanka as extras. The VHS of #2 included Taker / Kama (casket) and Bret / Laffiette. Here's a more in-depth recap, noting which were dark matches of each show. In Your House #1 - Syracuse, NY - On Center - May 14, 1995 Jean Pierre Laffiette pinned Bob Holly Davey Boy Smith fought WWF Tag Team Champion Owen Hart to a draw The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) pinned Kama (w/ Ted Dibiase) with the tombstone Bam Bam Bigelow pinned Tatanka (w/ Ted Dibiase) with a sunset flip off the top Pay-per-view bouts: Bret Hart pinned Hakushi (w/ Shinja) with a reverse roll up out of a waist lock; as Hart jumped off the apron after the match, he appeared to have injured his ankle Razor Ramon defeated WWF IC Champion Jeff Jarrett & the Roadie in a handicap match by pinning Jarrett with the Razor's Edge after blocking the figure-4 and kicking the champion into his partner; after the match, Jarrett & the Roadie attacked Razor with Aldo Montoya attempting to make the save but failing; a man later known as Savio Vega eventually saves Razor but is escorted from ringside by officials and security KOTR Qualifying Match: Mabel (w/ Mo) pinned Adam Bomb by catching Bomb in mid-air and hitting a powerslam WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) defeated the Smoking Gunns when Owen pinned Bart following a Yokozuna leg drop on the floor Jerry Lawler pinned Bret Hart with a double leg roll up after Hakushi came off the top three times as the referee was tied up in the ropes and distracted by Shinja WWF World Champion Diesel defeated Psycho Sid (w/ Ted Dibiase) via disqualification when Tatanka broke the pin following the powerbomb; Bam Bam Bigelow made the save In Your House #2 - Nashville, TN - Municipal Auditorium - July 23, 1995 Skip pinned Aldo Montoya at 4:00 Bret Hart pinned Jean Pierre Laffiette by countering a waist lock into a reverse roll up The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) defeated Kama (w/ Ted Dibiase) in a casket match Pay-per-view bouts: The Roadie pinned the 1-2-3 Kid with a piledriver off the middle turnbuckle Men on a Mission defeated Razor Ramon & Savio Vega when King Mabel pinned Razor with a belly to belly suplex after hitting a splash in the corner Bam Bam Bigelow pinned Henry Godwinn after Godwinn missed a kneedrop off the turnbuckle Shawn Michaels pinned WWF IC Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/ the Roadie) to win the title with the superkick after the Roadie accidentally tripped the champion WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) defeated Lex Luger & Davey Boy Smith when Yoko pinned Luger with a legdrop after Owen hit a double axe handle off the top behind the referee's back WWF World Champion Diesel pinned Psycho Sid (w/ Ted Dibiase) in a lumberjack with a boot to the face after fending off several of Sid's lumberjacks; lumberjacks included: King Kong Bundy, Kama, IRS, the Heavenly Bodies, Rad Radford, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Tatanka, Men on a Mission, Henry Godwinn, Jacob & Eli Blu, Skip, Jean Pierre Laffiette, Mantaur, Savio Vega, Bam Bam Bigelow, Razor Ramon, Bob Holly, Duke Drose, Man Mountain Rock, Fatu, Techno Team 2000, the Smoking Gunns, the 1-2-3 Kid, Adam Bomb, & Shawn Michaels; the match saw interference by King Mabel as he attacked Diesel on the floor and Shawn Michaels as he hit a double axe handle off the top onto Sid who was on the floor #2 is the better of the two shows, if only for Jarrett's "singing" performance and HBK / Jarrett. spman 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 The UK Exclusivity of these discs boil down to the simple fact that Slivervision owns the rights to the original VHS tapes in the UK and are doing a quick and cheap direct VHS to DVD transfr to make a quick buck. WWE Home VIdeo in America just doesn't want to be botherd and watns to hold this sutff for the inevitable 24/7 channel.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 I don't remember Jarrett/HBK ever being "underrated". It's a great match that if you saw live on PPV, or caught its release on the IYH video or on another "Best of IYH" Coliseum Video release (I have it...it has Bret/Diesel Cage IYH, Mabel/Taker IYH, HBK/Jarrett, Bret/Lawler and something else) you'd probably like. Definately an "old school" feeling match. I guess given the era (IYH, 1995) and the scarcity of the PPV tape, a lot of people haven't seen it.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Remember that thread about re-writing history on the part of Vince Mcmahon? I talked about the history of WM videotape and bang here it is. It's the only place where Savage vs. Warrior is the wwf championship for WM

The VHS of #2 included Taker / Kama (casket) and Bret / Laffiette. So did Owen/Davey get taped for anything, or is the match lost forever?
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 20, 2004 No edits are on the Coliseum Videos that stand out. All the matches are un-clipped that aired on the PPV. As for the bonus match(es) I have no clue since they weren't seen except for the live crowd. I doubt Bulldog/Owen exists on tape. No one would usually bring a hand held to a PPV, but if someone did, good luck finding them. WWF never released the match on tape either. Just track down the European Title Finals. Helluva Match. Slickster 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I doubt Bulldog/Owen exists on tape. No one would usually bring a hand held to a PPV, but if someone did, good luck finding them. I'm sure WWE has the tapes of it, since they tape damn near everything. But anyone else having a copy? Nah.
spman 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Yeah, Owen vs Davey is likely on tape somewhere in WWEs archives. Everything including Dark Matches and stuff that happens after the show is finished gets filmed during WWE TV and PPV shows, as is evidence fromt he Benoit DVD containing footage of his Dark Match against Sparky Plugg. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 20, 2004 WOOHOO! I so want to import right now. Why? Survivor Series '88 CV is clipped to fucking hell, and the 1987 one is a victim too, except it wasn't that bad. (Unless you count the Bulldogs elimination being erased as bad...which it is)
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I doubt Bulldog/Owen exists on tape. No one would usually bring a hand held to a PPV, but if someone did, good luck finding them. I know Bulldog / Owen is on the CHV Best of RAW 4, no idea if it was the European title match or anything though.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 20, 2004 The Survivor Series two pack is worth it. It's marked down cheap, and if you grew up watching during that era, then it'll bring back memories of when you actually LOVED watching wrestling. One of the reasons I'm on such a Flair kick is because he does just that for me.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I never did understand why WWF would keep rereleasing the WMs in a box set, but never did with the Rumbles, SummerSlam or Survivor Series.
