Lord of The Curry

Make a statement

Recommended Posts

Statement: The only reason Orton got the belt was for WWE to say that he's the youngest wrestler to ever hold a world title level championship in WWE and that it wasn't Brock anymore.

Rebuttal: It was part of the marketing machine to increase his face value with the audience. The bigger story was that Orton beat the champion who defeated Trips for the belt and that HHH could not unseat him. This was the root of the break up of Evolution. Of course, this has been kind of a flop and as someone stated expect Benoit to finally lose to HHH soon ruining the whole big story.

Statement: Randy Savage v. Steamboat would have been the greatest match in the past 20 years if it had an interfernce-free ending and got 10 more minutes.

Rebuttal: Subjectivity. For me, nothing will likely ever top Bret/Owen from X. I'm sure some people thought that match sucked. It's all a matter of opinion. Or preference, I'm not sure which. ^_^

For argument's sake, I'll agree most the way. Under those circumstances, it would be a strong contender for such a title in any fan's eyes.

Statement: The best place for a Prom is LAZER TAG.

Big Rebuttal: The best place is the basement of my mom's house.

Statement: Raw vs. Smackdown could have been or could be the biggest thing in the last few years if done correctly, but of course this is the WWE and they won't even bring it up anymore, even though they are supposed to be "competing" brands.

Rebuttal: Raw will get Stephanie as GM and Smackdown will get Shane as GM? Everybody from Smackdown will be treated as heels and everybody from Raw will be faces. At the Survivor Series they would have a TWO ring Elimation Chamber match of Evolution & Tweeners vs Team Undertaker & evil forgeinors.

Statement: The WWE killed off any chance of a "fantasy-booking" scenario when they botched the Invasion angle w/ WCW in 2001.

rebuttal: we still did see some matches that were wanted to be seen, but they rushed too soon, so your point is for the better part correct.

Statement: One and a half hours of reading the Scummiest Wrestling Urban Legends thread over at the DVD boards has WARPED MY MIND.

You know what I'm talking about, Rudo. (Saw your name on the members list) ;)

Statement: Rob Conway, apart from La Résistance, wrestling solo, WOULD be more entertaining that Randy Orton.

If Conway was given the push that Orton has with a more developed character, agreed. The guy has already shown that he has been gifted with more in-ring skills then Orton and his mic work would probably be better too.

Rebuttal: I would hunt down and kill any of the "Fab Five" that touched Edge.

Oh, I kid!

Or do I?

Just don't kill them until AFTER the haircut part of the show is filmed. :D

And now that I think about it, it's actually too late for Shawn, he's been going to Paul Heyman on skullett tips.

No, I don't believe so. I know everyone looks at Rob Conway in that 'Chris Benoit way' aka smark favorite, but I've never really enjoyed him, well that would be going to far, but there's no way in hell I can see him, or ever could see him as being a main eventer. I dont' even know if I could picture him with the IC title around his waist. He's good in the ring, yes, ,but I still don't really get the thought of 'damn that was a hell of a match' after his matches, even the one he had with Benoit.

I picture him as a tag wrestler..holding the tag title like he is, possibly a different partner and gimmick, but no, I don't think he'd make a better champion then Orton. Or even Edge.

EDIT- and yes, I've seen some preWWE stuff.

Statement: Jericho should keep the IC title for a while...or lose it soon.

Rebuttal: Yep, and I think I would have preferred it if he had been traded to SD instead of Rene Dupree. Put Conway in the spot Dupree had where he was feuding with Cena and the matches would have been at least 10 times better, and it may have helped Cena develop his act instead of becoming as stale as he has. (There would be no way of avoiding the pathetic gay jokes though)

Statement: Soon, they'll get rid of the Cruiser division and just let all the cruisers wrestle for the tag belts.

Rebuttal: I see this being a move that NO ONE would want to see happen, so I don't see it turning torwards that diecrtion.

Statement: The tag titles and heavyweight titles should be united and defended on both shows.

Tag and heavyweight titles on both shows would hurt the brand extension. Having the tag belts on both shows would cause too much jumping back and forth between brands, as well.

Statement: Steroid use in the WWE is at the same level it was ten years ago.

Rebuttal: only Batista and HHH are the only noticable ones that use steriods heavily, compared to 10 years ago when every big star (no pun intended) would have the look of super buff men.

Statement: Given his respect for wrestlers, especially from the distant past, we'll see more of an old-school style when HHH finally heads the company. And by head of the company he's the CEO, and doesn't wrestle.
