bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 wtf was that?? Desmond's woman? that makes no sense at all!? I guess it was supposed to imply that the Whitmore people will find the island?? it was a fantastic episode, but the episode really ended on an incomprehensible wtf note. how and why would her woman know to search for an electromagnetic thingie? Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Widmore. What was he in the show before this? I've forgotten entirely.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 The constant breaks really hurt the shows momentum for me. The Desperate Housewives finale was much worse (not that I watch, I'd already seen Family Guy, so I had Housewives on in the background) My prediction is next season someone gets sick and can't be helped since Jack is now captured. But that was an awesome season finale
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 What the fuck does Desmonds women have anything to do with this? Lots of money = unlimited resources = possible outsiders finding the island for next season. I'm also betting that her father has some sort of connection to Dharma in an indirect (or direct) way. Wow, I really hope Locke somehow survived that... bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 you know what part blew my mind? the four-toed statue leg. They shoulda left Desmond's woman out of it, instead had him on the phone saying "we found it" then cut to black. they found the island? there's the cliffhanger. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 now i'm gonna go back and read ALL the highlighted text mwahahaha

Well, it's not necessarily the island that they found. How about we wait to find out what other connections Penny may have to the island before completely dismissing her presence from the finale. Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 What in the fuck is going to happen to Michael? There's no way he's getting to safety on that boat. LOL at "She said she knows your beard is fake, Tom"

iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 That ending was the most fucking what the fuck ending in the history of television. I even stopped recording thinking it was a commercial or something.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 But see it would be obvious if the "Others"/"Good Guys" blew up the boat- I mean what if they really are the good ones and our survivors are the bad/wrong lot of people?
slimm44 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 We haven't seen the last of Michael and Walt, Sayid will find hiim, or they'll turn around. And how funny it is to go back and read the finale spoilers and how wrong they are, not even half way through them.
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 I think that's it for Walt and Michael. I think they're gone.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 as the episode was winding down, i was kind of hoping the white bright light was the rest of the world detonating and the cliffhanger woulda been michael and walt sailing off and reaching land only to find it a wasteland. DMann2003 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 There are 2 groups of Lost fans I think- ones who want all the answers and everything neatly laid out, and ones who enjoy the mystery I like guessing, I mean if they explain every little thing, why should I continue to watch, it becomes just another "this week Jack and Sawyer argue over how to throw Kate a surprise party" As long as this outside element is developed next season, I'll go along with it. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 here's what i don't get. okay so the computer and magnetic whatever is all real. This seems like a pretty big deal now that we've seen it happen. Why entrust it to such an ass system with one or two people stationed there who don't know crap and why run a psychological expirement at the site where the world's fate is being decided? i wonder if the others are a group somehow fighting against the dharma initiative somehow, and dharma are the "bad guys" and perhaps they are former dharma-ites who rebelled and are 'good guys'. That explains why Kelvin (an apparent employee of dharma) referred to the others as 'hostiles'.

Why entrust it to such an ass system with one or two people stationed there who don't know crap and why run a psychological expirement at the site where the world's fate is being decided? Seems like the island is supposed to be uncharted and unfindable. I don't think the original Dharma crew expected planes to be flying overhead when they decided that the supermagnet would be the result of not pressing the button. Seems like it was meant to be a scare tactic...like the magnet won't kill you, but it probably would scare the fuck out of you though and make you press the buttons again. Just turns out it was not pressed a bad day---when a plane was overhead.

Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Reading some stuff over on the IMDB forums, seems like Kelvin was in one of Sayid's flashback. Looking for a screen cap, will post when and if I find one.
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Reading some stuff over on the IMDB forums, seems like Kelvin was in one of Sayid's flashback. Looking for a screen cap, will post when and if I find one. He was the American soldier (though his name was Joe in the flashback) who got Sayid to torture another Iraqi soldier. Clancy Brown. Voice of Lex Luthor in the Superman and Justice League animated series'. I was really hoping that his name in the spoilers meant that he was going to be a regular cast member. Then again, we don't know if he actually died from that blow (or do we, I can't remember if Desmond mentioned anything about it before). http://www.clancybrown.com/gallery/display...album=36&pos=

iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Desmond is my new favorite character on the show after this episode. God that was so good. If he survives, I hope he's added to the cast as a regular. I think what really took me away with the ending was that was the first scene ever on this show in present time off the island. Totally mindblowing.
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 So what exactly happens when Desmond turns the key? Does it just release the discharge of electromagnetic energy? Would that have any harmful effect on those around (Eko, Des, Locke)? (Just wondering 'out loud' here and hoping that they haven't killed off a few of my favourite characters in one fell swoop )

Mik 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 It's not him. And I really love how they set up seeds to make everyone think it's a psych experiment. Then they threw in the Pearl so that everyone could feel smart about themselves figuring it out. But that wasn't really it at all. Things that bother me: If Henry Gale truly is the leader - why would he PUT himself in danger? But I still don't think that Henry Gale is "he". I think he's higher up the ladder than Tom (Friendly) though, because he did sneer when he found out that they thought Friendly was "he." Eko is out on his own - roaming. He was clearly ahead of Charlie and closer to the exit when he pushed Charlie down. Charlie made it. Eko probably did too. Locke and Desmond? I don't know. Henry Gale to Michael: "Walt did prove to be more than we bargained for, so it's better for everyone that you get him back." or something to that effect. Looks like Walt's shinning is truly out of control. 4 toed statue? WHAT THE FUCK? Just when you think you're gonna figure stuff out - we're only scratching the surface.
