LOST

Okay I'm betting this is all a mindfuck done by the Dharma Inititive, that Jack and the Losties are all doped up and being experimented on the Island- and it's John Locke and psychic Desmond to the rescue.

Damn. The ending was good but so dissapointing to me at the same time. I mean now we know that Jack and Kate got off the island but I assume we will come back to that point in time with a half a season or so left to go atleast, I dont think thats going to be where the season ends. But yeah, I would have liked to see more closure, a few more answers, anything really.

Haha. Really good episode in and of itself, with cool character moments and some great throwbacks to the first season ("that was for taking the kid off the raft," mainly), but man, that could kill the series in like 8 different ways. Also, Charlie closing the door to drown himself when he and Des both could have easily gotten away was kind of retarded.

I wonder if the writers will just gloss over a lot of the unsolved mysteries now that they have a huge "GOTCHA!" hook to possibly drive the rest of the show.

Outstanding. Out f'ing standing.

THE OTHERS get beaten!!!!!!

Poor Charlie :(

I will say that I called the flashback thing being a flashforward right at the first scene when Jack gets the look on his face with the turbulence. there was a real TomHanks-Castaway-post-return vibe to his flashbacks, plus once you catch on to the writers, you start picking up their little tricks, but that's not a criticism, it was still good because the flashbacks were doubly interesting to me. The "friend or family? Neither" line makes me think the funeral is for SAWYER. It makes sense too, there's nobody else who cares to go see him.

Great great episode. I liked how they wrapped up a whole bunch of miscellaneous stuff, leaving us back with the central question: what's with the true nature of the island and why can't they get rescued.

You know what would be a crazy new direction for the show, if it picks up in the future, and Jack has to re-unite all the Losties to go save the island from whoever the other group is - making them the new Others.

Also, I was thinking Locke for the funeral potentially.

I'm betting Sawyer's. It makes sense that Jack would expect Kate to be there and Kate's reaction. I'm thinking Sawyer and Kate have a huge falling out next season.

I called the swerve within the first two minutes. It's interesting, but the way it was done was a real anti-climax. I think the flashbacks actually hurt the episode here.

Hurley and Locke had the best stuff of the episode. I'm really interested to see where Locke's character goes after this season, it could be the one storyline that will dictate where the series goes.

Overall I thought it was okay, but very anti-climactic. Season 2's finale was sooo much better, we got answers, some sense of closure, but still more than enough to drive the show into the next season. This felt less like a finale and more like a two-hour episode.

Heroes was better.

Charlie closed the door to fulfill Des's prophesy.

I'm not sure that was Claire driving the car. They said a last name that wasn't her's.

It was stated as "Mrs. (something)", which means that she could've gotten married after getting rescued. Jack seemed particularly adamant about doing the surgery, and being kept informed of her progress. Plus that look he gave the kid.

So... where does the show go from here? I mean, it's been signed for 3 more 16 episode seasons, right? So how much can you fill in between Jack getting on the phone and the rescue party coming in to pick them up? "We'll be there in no time!"

Too bad we have to wait til February 2008 for this to pick back up.

I'm so happy the Others got a royal asskicking this episode. I don't even care if they turn out to the "good guys", characters that lame are always bad guys. Hurley with the DHARMA van!!!!! Jack with the fists of fury! HELLLL YESSSSSSS! Make Ben your bitttchh!!

That would actually be really interesting and a great new direction for the show!

....so it probably won't happen.

But still, it would be cool.

About the funeral, I could have sworn Jack said it was a "she" to Kate, although he may have been speaking about another "she". Maybe I'm wrong, but I know he said something about "she" and held up the little piece of paper he had. I thought he was talking about the funeral, but maybe im wrong.... can anyone clear this up??

I knew not putting one in Mikael's head would come back to bite them in the ass.

Since those guys apparently aren't with Penny, I think the rest of the show will be told in flashbacks back to what happened after the 'rescue party' came and what they do to get away from them and get off the island.
