The website.

Sounds fun, but it's not open to residents of Canada and it should be $5.95. I'm sure we could come up with a league just as fun in the Fantasy Booking category.

If someone plans on playing and is willing to sponsor a SmartMarks team, that would be cool. Of course, the person who chips in the dough should get the belt.

I just know Rudo's brainstorming mock rules already. ;)

Just choose HHH.

Seriously though, take out the price and that would be fine. But charging for fantasy sports? I've never liked that idea for any sports.

*Rudo goes to WWE.com*

"Oh hey, that's cool, the WWE is getting more interactive with fantasy booking. I was just thinking about the old days at Crimson Mask when they had something very similar..."

*clicks on link*

"Oh, they're charging for it..."

*Watches as WWE steals people's story lines*

They'll steal the storylines, completely disregard any and all thoughts of it not being there own, then screw it up so it's bound to fail.

That's the WWE writing team at it's finest.

WWE Terrible Idea #3078

$9.95 is insane. As long as you pick wrestlers that face Jericho or RVD you should win every time.

I'm sure the WWE will make up the scoring system as it goes, so it will be more like the real show.

Stop bitching.

This is a good idea with a good prize. If you are a pussy that doesn't like to risk money, then go watch Raw for free.

The scoring system is already made up, and it's pretty fair/competitive.

How about this? FIND A FRIEND. I've got two diehard fans friends that watch Raw with me every Monday. We're going in together. $3.33 each. It peaks interest in the show.

God...do y'all complain about EVERYTHING?

Do they realize all you have to do is read the Smackdown Spoilers, fix your roster so you can have it be perfect for the upcoming show, and there ya go?

I thought about it, but I've reconsidered. This had bad written all over it.

Here's the deal with "taped shows"...

You can make TRADES and CHANGE YOUR SUPERSTAR...

However, that person won't go into effect until the NEXT MONDAY.

This, is you see Luther Reigns wins the WWE Title from Eddie by reading spoilers Wednesday morning and put Luther on your team, his stats won't count until the NEXT Smackdown! broadcast.

$9.95 is a bit overpriced, but it sounds like a bit of fun - and besides, how tight are some of you lot anyway? I'd definitely go in for it if I could apply from the UK. I might try anyway and just give a fake US address.

Edit: actually, UseTheSledgehammerUh, it looks like you can change your roster from week to week, although I assume you can't do it in between Tuesday night and Thursday evening.

Re-edit: I just checked - you stick with the same roster from Monday to the following Monday.

Screw that, they should just bring back With Authority. That game was pretty good. I could still probably Beat somebody down with my Austin speed playbook :D .

don't suppose its more than just the roster of the WWE you can pick?

say older generation wrestlers or wrestlers from elsewhere.

Its not a fantasy if you can't have everything.

What a silly decision. When there's hundreds of kids out there in their bedrooms, spending hours writing their own version of Raw or cutting promos on each other like this:

The Rock: The Rock says hes going to kick ur ass jobrone

it means they are talking about the product, remaining interested, and participating actively in the product. They aren't taking anything away from WWE, and definitely aren't in competition with this fantasy league thing.

For one, they are completely different things, one having nerds with no skill cutting wrestling promos across the internet, the other being your typical fantasy league deal.

The other is that, lets face it, efedding is for kids. Signing up for the WWE fantasy league requires a credit card, which (obviously) is an adult thing. Two different markets completely.

And it's definitely not worth the little bit of profit they'll make from the fantasy league, to piss off a whole bunch of fans off. Bad move.

what the problem is that WWE needs to have a monopoly on everything.

there can't be independant Free Efeds out there that run on sims no no no because they Might have WWE characters in there taking on the likes of Hayabusa or The original midnight express or El Santo..

Its utter crap, kill off a internet geek past time just to have the ONLY Game in town, and yet People don't want to waste their money on that bullshit....

what i was trying to say is, Fantasy Leagues are based off of real stats correct? Well wrestling is fixed so how can they rightfully pull this thing off? i mean if it was a real Efed like the others, whatever...but they're trying to sell this thing as being similar to NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA leagues right?

_The Problem_ is that this Fantasy thing is a great opportunity to create goodwill between the WWE and the Internet fan. For the WWE to get the fans involved and interested on another level. For the fans to watch the shows and have a vested interest in who is on, who wins, and who loses. A great opportunity that they fucked-up by charging for it, and by making it U.S.-exclusive. No, 10 bucks isn't much at all, but the thought-alone of paying for something like this is ridiculous. I wouldn't give them a dime. IMO, the rewards of getting 10x's the fan involvement without the restrictions and the indirect benefits that come along with it are much more than getting the direct financial benefit.

Am I the only one who doesn't get why everyone's connecting this to e-feds when it's totally different. Seriously, it's no different from most fantasy sports things.

Ah yes--the reason why WWE was harassing free e-feds.

It has nothing to do with e-feds. It's totally different from an e-fed.

They'll steal the storylines, completely disregard any and all thoughts of it not being there own, then screw it up so it's bound to fail

You don't create storylines as it's TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM E-FEDS.

You're missing the point. WWE threatened to shut down real e-feds for the creation of... this. THAT'S why people are connecting it to e-feds.
