Guest Trivia247 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 PWInsider.com is reporting the following: Reader GW sent word that WWE is hyping the returns of Austin, Hogan, and Foley for next week's episode of SmackDown, which they're dubbing the 'season premiere.' Since next week is the show's fifth anniversary, it seems very likely that WWE will end up merely showing clips of the three men, and not actually have them live on the show. More details are expected on this soon. kinda like (meet the president and have your picture taken with him) and you walk away with a Picture of you with a cut out. Or in the Camp Krusty Episode of the Simpsons Barney comes out dressed as Krusty...Maybe Viscera will come out dressed like Hogan....
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Or in the Camp Krusty Episode of the Simpsons Barney comes out dressed as Krusty...Maybe Viscera will come out dressed like Hogan.... I'd watch Smackdown for that .
Enigma Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Trivia, I hate to be off-topic, but your signature shows that you have no knowledge of Sable having been fired by WWE.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Trivia, I hate to be off-topic, but your signature shows that you have no knowledge of Sable having been fired by WWE. Hey your right, shoot let me correct that. Corrected thanks
Australian Pride Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Or in the Camp Krusty Episode of the Simpsons Barney comes out dressed as Krusty...Maybe Viscera will come out dressed like Hogan.... It will be Big Show channelling his Backlash 2000 performance.
Krankor Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 They'll just briefly show Austin, Hogan, and Foley sitting in the front row like what they do with NFL stars or other sports stars. They'll show all three just sitting down looking disinterested and a little banner will pop up on the screen saying "Former WWE Superstars". They'll get 15 seconds of camera time. Tops
Lord of The Curry Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Is SD actually live next week? Or is it, ya know, possible that it's a highlight show and they're fucking with you all.
Krankor Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 According to wwe.com it looks like it's taped on 9/21 from Phoenix, Arizona.
Scroby Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I get the feeling that if anything they'll just come out for a few minutes, then go back or if anything video clips will be shown. But if they were there that could mean very HUGE ratings for Smackdown.
Scroby Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Why wouldn't it be? Fans would tune in to see if anything happens IF Hogan and Austin are both there, afterwards they'd probably turn it but fans would diffently tune in to see if their doing anything.
landy1987 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Could someone explain to me how they have worked out that next weeks show is going to be the fifth anniversary special? Didn’t the show start in August 99? And also was there ever a big deal made about Raw’s fifth anniversary in 98?
Kurt Angle Mark Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Update from Dave Meltzer The plan right now for next week's season premiere of Smackdown is to include videotaped interviews of Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Mick Foley as an attempt to boost weakening ratings. The inclusion of Hogan is a major step because the McMahon family had been strong about never wanting him back in the company because of all the times he'd walked out. It will become a very interesting game, because if an advertised Hogan and Austin return doesn't help ratings, it will weaken both's bargaining power. McMahon and Austin are not on bad terms even though they had a contract impasse. McMahon and Hogan have a unique relationship because in the end they are both businessmen that needed each other to reach the heights they did, but both believe the other took too much credit, and didn't give them the proper credit, for wrestling's popularity.
Si82 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I say bring back DA MAN for 1 night. I assume you are talking about Goldberg here. If so what would be the point of him appearing on the Smackdown 5th anniversary show when he never even wrestled on Smackdown?

That's okay, just give him enough time to squash the Cruiserweight division
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Expect Bret Hart to also be there, leading an "Invasion" of WWE by ex-superstars, as well. Holy shit, anything would be better then seeing Michael Cole's face pressed against a door, squealing, as Heidenreich slams his dick into the back of his pants.
The Czech Republic Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I say bring back DA MAN for 1 night. I assume you are talking about Goldberg here. That's where you're wrong, he's talking about Damian, who can't appear because Earthquake sat on him.

The Czech Republic Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Since when is sodomy ever a better alternative to ANYTHING? What have we done to this poor board??

NoCalMike Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 Remember, they are promising Hulk Hogan, NOT "Terry Bollea" *runs away fast.........*
