ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 OK...as the majority of us here know, Undertaker and JBL have a match at No Mercy set. Now, I know this is a long shot idea that I'm about to put out, but I think it'd be fun if they had this planned and no one knew. OK...we've seen this past Smackdown JBL bring in people to help him out in taking out the Undertaker. In this past week, it was Gangrel and Viscera. A thought that came to my mind. Maybe G & V last long enough to get to No Mercy. During the JBL/Taker match...one of two things could happen. 1) JBL calls for Gangrel and Viscera to come out, and they give JBL an unfair advantage, and he's about to win. or 2) Same, but the attack fails, and Undertaker is about to win. Anyway, depending on the situation, that person opens up the Hearse, ready to put their opponent into it. However, they have a surprise waiting for them. From out of the blue, making his WWE debut to attack that person... Is STING! For situation 1, Sting takes out Gangrel, Viscera, and Orlando with the baseball bat, evening up the odds. For situation 2...well, think Mankind to Undertaker in his Beware of Dog casket match against Goldust. Either way, that would be a shocker, and could add a boost of more starpower (even if it is waning) to Smackdown. Plus, either a Taker/Sting alliance or Taker/Sting feud might be interesting to me. Thoughts?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 i would so hate that idea... anyway, it doesn't matter who wins this match because whoever the champ is will eventually be in a fued against the Big Show and boy would that suck... gotta go with the Aliens Vs. Predator tag line on this one...
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Lushus: Explain why you would hate the idea, just for my edification...
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I just think Sting's time has passed..I think his crow bit ran too thin and folks, well myself anyway, were clammering for the old colorful Sting to come back..he's a shell of his former self and wouldn't bring anything long lasting and worthwhile to the table...sure he's a good shot in the arm, like heroine or something, but long term it does nothing for Smackdown... this is, of course my own opinion, as I'm sure others share YOUR view, which is cool...i just know I personally could care less about Sting at this point... Guest ally mccoist Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Its not a really bad idea or anything, i'd just rather not see Sting in WWE. Ever. And if he HAD to go to Vince, i'd rather see him on Raw and feud with HHH, playing up the Sting/Flair stuff. That way you can also give Orton a babyface to side with who he hasn't pissed off in the last year.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I hate that idea. I don't want Sting in WWE. He's old, washed up and as we've seen with every other WCW star they've brought in- it's just not going to work and he'll be gone in less then two years. Plus Sting won't be willing to work a full schedule which is the last thing we need. I don't want to see the Stinger tarnishing his legacy
Guest ally mccoist Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Come to think of it, there is an upside to him joining: a Sting DVD. I'd actually be up for Sting coming in for a one-shot deal at WM21 in a tag match of some sort, like Rock and Foley did at XX. Flair/Batista vs Sting/Benjamin, something like that. Then we'd hopefully get a Sting DVD which i'd happily shell out for.

notJames 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 This is just going to be a retread of RR '94, where it takes an army of nobodies to stuff the Dead Man into the hearse, and then he'll rise from the dead and be a lame biker again. Who do you think will play the Marty Jannety role this time? Oh, and ix-nay on ing-Stay. Two washed-up has-beens is enough for one show.

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 if the WWE wanted to really screw with people and try to bring up recent history.... During the match when Gangrel and Viscera does come out to make a run in on Undertaker. Taker just points at them, stops them in their tracks, then he turns to JBL, and points to him and the two attacks him mercilessly, calling for a DQ. Taker grabs the mic as the two beat and bloody the champion and Undertaker still titleless but from a position of strength looks down and says.. Taker: Boy...I just took you to the learnin tree, since you had forgotten your roots. And the former members of the Ministry of Darkness strings him up on the Undertaker's Cross, after first Lynching him like the Bossman. and there you have your retro Ministry Undertaker moment. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Looking at this you described one of two ways this would all end a) Sting ends up jobbing to JBL on PPV and being fired after, filled with "hilarious" skits of midget Stings being brought out by JBL or b) Heel Sting gets destroyed by Undertaker on PPV Either way, painful to watch. UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 If Sting comes back, I don't want him to do it on a PPV nobody is going to watch in a match a lot of people probably don't care about. I think he can still be successful with The Crow gimmick, as long as they go back to what it was in 97 when he was very mysterious... up in the rafters, NEVER TALKING, randomly coming down to attack opponents, NEVER TALKING, and it could work as a tweener, just quietly taking on all comers, while of course.. NEVER TALKING.

Guest TheLastBoyscout Report post Posted September 17, 2004 They should just put two muscular guys in face paint and studs and call them Demolition and have them beat up Kidman and London every week while being managed by Funaki. Then turn Angle babyface to try to stop them. Only they squash him and try to break his neck to a thunderous pop. SmackDown would be saved.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Loaded Glove: What about the Sting Howl, would that be considered talking to you? Yes. Let me re-phrase it.. he should never make any sound. Just ascend from the rafters, point the baseball bat, and fight, that's all.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 I always wanted to have a silent asskicker around. Just a guy that doesn't wrestle, only appears randomly and beats people up...and then nobody sees him backstage. Ever. Kinda like a cooler one-man version of 3MW. Let the attacks be random, during commercials, interviews, whatever. He just can't be caught for months. The fans would be like "what the FUCK?" and shit, some would probably tune in just to see who he punks out next. He could go through the roster two or three times before someone is finally like "bitch!" and gets the upperhand on him, only for him to slip away and then start making all of his attacks on just that one person leading into a match. I like that idea. As long as the person chosen for the role can wrestle it would work, because once he has that first match you need to do everything possible to avoid it being a letdown.
