I didn't see a thread about this, so what the heck. I for one don't really care about most of this, but I thought some of you might if you haven't seen all of this yet. I might actually pick up the Ewok DF DVD though, but that would be it.

With next month's release of the 'Holy Trilogy', it was inevitable that 20th Century Fox would soon announce the release of everything else Star Wars releated that had not yet made it to DVD. November 23rd will see the long-awaited release of the two Star Wars ewok spin off movies Caravan Of Courage and The Battle For Endor.

From what little detail Fox have supplied us with, it looks as if this will be a double-feature pack, with both movies in one set, have no extra features, and a very low SRP of $14.98.

Also announced for release on November 23rd are the 1980's Star Wars cartoon TV series Droids and Ewoks. We are yet to receive any further information regarding these two titles.

Sadly no Star Wars Holiday Special, but we'll never see that on DVD anyway. Still, all of this news makes Bea Arthur dance once again!

That's actually too bad. The Holiday Special has become such a prevalent cult joke thing, that I'm positive FOX would make a good chunk of change if they released it.

I'd KILL for the Holiday Special to make it onto DVD. I've heard the stories about it.

At this point, I'm just gonna wait for the inevitable Star Wars sextology box set and be done with it. No sense buying the Holy Trilogy now if they're just gonna bundle it with the Hayden Christiansen saga in a year or so. Besides, Lucas will probably add/subtract/rearrange/rewrite even more stuff to the HT, rendering the current box set obsolete and pissing off that many more SW superfans. ;)

I don't know how many people here have actually seen that SW Holiday Special, but from what I remember it had a really cool cartoon segment with what I believe was the very first appearance of Boba Fett. Luke and Han got sick or something, Boba Fett appeared and told Chewie he had to hang them both upside down so blood would rush to their heads and slow the sickness. Anyway, it came across that Fett was actually working for the Empire, Chewie found out and busted him (don't remember how, really), Luke and Han were cured and that was that.

I'd love to see that again.

Whoever would buy those DVDs is either insane or the biggest Star Wars fan.

Or both.

I wonder...

Does the Droids series contradict anything with Episodes 1-3 now?

Just curious.

There are propably some areas of contradiction, because the primary plot of Droits was R2 and C3P0 just kind of hanging out and getting into misadventures.

The story for the cartoon is good. But the animation is terrible. Han and Luke look like some sort of monkey/donkey hybrids.

I remember seeing the Battle for Endor on The Disney Channel years and years ago. I don't recall paying that close of attention to it then, so I'm betting on the same result now.
