Legitimately good song. One of the Cure's best. Maybe Guitar World just aren't fans. 67 -- Not a huge Stones fan... but c'mon, that's a great song. 53 -- Nice to fall asleep to. And you know, it's obviously not easily-listenable on its own merits, but Reed definitely showed bravery in releasing it as a big name on a big label. At least cool for historical value. 45 -- Not a great Hendrix song, but it's a pretty cool riff... a little annoying, maybe, but not top-100 material. They're definitely just trying to stir shit up by putting Hendrix on here. 26 -- Fun pop song, catchy as hell. 16 -- GREAT song. What's their problem? B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 I can actually understand the beef with "Epic", and I'm the ULTIMATE Faith No More mark. The solo just does nothing for me. It sounds disjointed and sloppy and overdubbed inplaces. Faith No More still owns you, though.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 Another retarded list. But not as bad as pitchfork's.

spiny norman 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 I would say it's worse than Pitchfork's actually.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 Again, as with pitchfork...wheres the Nickleback mentions?
Only The Strong Survive 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 You'd have to read exactly WHY the song's are picked. I have the issue, and issues with the playing come from sloppiness, Pro Tools-esque cutting and pasting, out-of-tune notes, or total lack of taste in terms of style or flow. It doesn't refer to the songs themselves, just the leads.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 I'm guessing Poison solo is the concert where C.C. showed off his "skills"

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2004 I'm trying to think of how any of the guitar parts to Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" are bad. I mean, the solo's NUTS and goes with the awkwardness of the main lick/riff.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2004 Again, as with pitchfork...wheres the Nickleback mentions? That Pitchfork list is five years old. As for this list, citing the Replacements as having bad solos is missing the point entirely.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 Love Gun? That's one of the best solos in rock history!

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 That riff from "Brainstew" is a terrible bastardization of "25 Or 6 To 4." Green Day sucks.
