EdwardKnoxII Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Ok since Halloween is on Sunday alot of religious have been up in arms about trick or treating on the "holy day" because of the satanic background in Halloween. Never mind that fact that most kids don't know or could care less about that stuff, all they went is candy and to dress up. So, I know in alot of cities because of this they've moved tricking or treating to Saturday or, in some cases, Friday night. So what day are they doing Halloween in your city. Here it's on Sunday and there is no time limit. And some cities close by up in KY one has it on Saturday and another has it tonight and they only have it for 2 or 3 hours at best.
Guest T®ITEC Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Either/or here in the Valley. The LDS kids will be doing it on Saturday, and then the human children will be doing it on Sunday.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Most every place in The Valley is having Trick-or-Treating on Sunday. I know it's from 6:30-7:30 here in Wheeling. Bellaire, OH is the only place I know of doing it on Saturday. At least that's what I was told.
Tawren Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I find it very weird that you guys have time slots for it. Anyways, for the Okotokian kids, it is Sunday night. Most kids start around 5:00 or so and the teenager losers who don't even dress up and thus don't get candy from me because they are such douches stop straggling in at around 9:30.
MrRant Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I'll be at work with bags of candy for me. Fuck the kids yo.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I don't get why people wouldn't have it on Sunday. So school's the next day, big deal? It's over by like 8 these days, anyway. I don't see how having it on Saturday is much smart. Yeah, let's have kids out trick or treating on Devil's Night!
Guest Reservoir_Kitty Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 It's on Sunday here, but I think the times are ungodly early in the day, which to me, defeats the purpose of Halloween being 'spooky' for the little worm babies. It's not scary at 3 PM. (Last year I believe it was 2-6) I hope it's later so we'll miss them because we'll be watching "Saw", but it'll probably be early this year too. Guess I'll have to buy some crappy candy to keep those little ingrates away from our house next year, heh, heh.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Ok since Halloween is on Sunday alot of religious have been up in arms about trick or treating on the "holy day" because of the satanic background in Halloween. Yeah never mind the fact that Halloween was originally a PAGAN not Satanic holiday.. Two different things... Of course people don't realize this.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Better yet, who's actually GOING trick or treating on Sunday? Never mind I'll start my own.
spiny norman Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 I live in Australia. We tell kids who come trick-or-treating to bugger off. It's not a holiday we recognise, we usually don't have anything to give them, and why should they celebrate a holiday that isn't in our tradition? We don't celebrate July 4th. Idiot kids.

I'm just saying what all the religious people say it about it being the devil's day and all.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Sunday, here. We even were celebrating it at Church this morning, and our Minister mentioned about how stupid it was to change the date of Halloween. I'm Anglican, BTW.
Lord of The Curry Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Anybody who goes trick-or-treating on any night that is not October 31'st deserves to get anally violated with a tootsie roll.
The Czech Republic Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 in my town Halloween is observed from 1-4 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month, which happens to be the 31st this year. It's stupid.
Lord of The Curry Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 How do you "observe" Halloween?
The Czech Republic Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 I look out the window, squint, and say "well, there it is."
Shooting Star Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 No Trick or Treating in my country.
NoCalMike Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 October 31st, when it gets dark............PERIOD.
The Metal Maniac Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 Time slots for halloween? Man, the places you guys live suck. 'Round here, it's just like Mike described. When the sun goes down, go get candy until you can't get anymore.
