JoeDirt Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I'm not talking BAD matches, but just plain old BORING matches. The ones that feel like they're two weeks long. Like Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Goldust at Survivor Series 1995. Literally nothing happens for 12 minutes until Goldust hits his finisher and wins. What's the most boring match you've ever seen?
Brocklock Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker vs Kane at Judgment Day 1998 Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair at Uncensored 2000
JoeDirt Posted October 31, 2004 Author Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker vs Kane at Judgment Day 1998 Yeah, this is a good pick. Even with Austin out there the crowd just dies and the match goes for about 20 minutes. REALLY boring match.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Michaels v Hart at WM XII. Not a bad match, but I found it to be tedious as hell. Hunter v Michaels at Bad Blood. 45 minutes of repetitive spots that we've seen a million times before, that never led to anything. The crowd might have cheered Michaels afterwards, but they were on their hands for almost all of that borefest.
Twisted Intestine Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I really can't remember any of the competetors in this match besides Dusty Rhodes.. but it was about a 20 minute long tag match, 15 of those minutes were taunting, including fat ass sitting on a chair in the middle of the ring, and there was no offense at all. It was on a Wednesday night TNA PPV... anyone know what match I'm talking about?
Zack Malibu Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker/Shamrock from Backlash '99. I liked both guys at the time, and was pumped because I was there in person...but good God did that match suck the meat missle.
Angle-plex Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker vs Triple H KOTR 2002 JBL vs Undertaker SummerSlam 2004
eiker_ir Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 - Undertaker vs. Kane WM 20, awesome entrance but the match almost put me to sleep. Michaels v Hart at WM XII. Not a bad match, but I found it to be tedious as hell. yeah the first 30 minutes were pretty boring imo, but the last 25 more than made up for it IMO. Had it not been an Iron Man match i think it would be considered more of a classic now.
Brocklock Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Steve Austin and Triple H vs Undertaker and Kane at Backlash 2001 (I can't believe they gave this 30 minutes part 1) Steve Austin vs The Undertaker at Backlash 2002 (I can't believe they gave this 30 minutes part 2)
Guest curry_man2002 Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Just about every match on wwe raw and smackdown since the start of the year especially the "raw is tag" era. All of chris benoits matches from his comeback in spring 2002 till he joined raw after the royal rumble. Every single basham brother match ever. Most tag team matches for me i hate tag team wrestling if there was never a tag match ever again i would die a happy man.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 - T & A Vs. Steve Blackman & Al Snow (WM 2000) - Chris Jericho Vs. Shawn Michaels II (Jericho goes over, was on Raw with Y2J heel, Michaels face) Where Jericho locks "Walls of Jericho" on Michaels during match, and JR goes "Folks, we'll be right back after this commercial!
JoeDirt Posted October 31, 2004 Author Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker/Shamrock from Backlash '99. I liked both guys at the time, and was pumped because I was there in person...but good God did that match suck the meat missle. I actually really like this match...though the crowd was COMPLETELY dead for it, there's some cool stuff there if you go back and watch.
Tawren Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Undertaker vs King Kong Bundy, WrestleMania 11. My GOD that was a boring mess.
Brocklock Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 All of chris benoits matches from his comeback in spring 2002 till he joined raw after the royal rumble. Uh, what about: Benoit/Brock 12/4/03 Benoit/Angle at The Rumble BenoitandAngle/Los Guerreros 10/18/02 BenoitandAngle/EdgeandRey at No Mercy 02 Benoit/Eddie at Vengeance 03 Benoit/Angle at Unforgiven 02
Si82 Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Steve Austin vs. Undertaker (WWF Backlash 2002) Triple H vs. Undertaker (WWE King of the Ring 2002) Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels (WWE Bad Blood 2004) All far too long. There is another one from the mid-90's (around '95 I think) that's on the tip of my tounge. If I remember I'll post it too.
Guest MikeSC Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Steve Austin and Triple H vs Undertaker and Kane at Backlash 2001 (I can't believe they gave this 30 minutes part 1) Steve Austin vs The Undertaker at Backlash 2002 (I can't believe they gave this 30 minutes part 2) Throw in Austin v UT from JD 2001 and you have them all. God, that tag team "All the Titles on the line" match was absolutely horrendously dull. -=Mike
King Cucaracha Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Jericho vs. Christian vs. RVD (Unforgiven '03)- Outside of two spots this was so dull. There was no reason for the match to even happen, the crowd were dead, JR and King didn't care (and to be fair were given no real reason to).
Guest BrokenWings Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Aside from the crowd, Brock Lesnar versus Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20. I was excited, I wanted to see what Lesnar could pull out of Goldberg, and then... that. I also recall the match twiztedmind was speaking of, but I've blocked the specifics of that match out of my mind. It was that bad. I'd also like to point out the incredibly underrated Benoit/Matt Hardy match from the opening round of the United States Title tournament I believe it was, as a great match Benoit had on SD, among many others.
Papacita Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Steve Austin vs The Undertaker at Backlash 2002 (I can't believe they gave this 30 minutes part 2) First match that popped into my mind when I saw this thread. I'll give Sid/Taker from WM13 a nod, since that match bored the shit out of my at a time when I could watch the bullshit matches on USWA and ICW shows and still be excited.
Guest LooneyTune Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 All of chris benoits matches from his comeback in spring 2002 till he joined raw after the royal rumble. Chalk up Brock/Angle Iron-Man as a boring match. The first 40 minutes was the cure for insomnia.
Twisted Intestine Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I also recall the match twiztedmind was speaking of, but I've blocked the specifics of that match out of my mind. It was that bad. I'm pretty sure it was Dusty & ? vs Jarrett & ? I remember Jarrett went to the announce table, grabbed his title, and put it back.. Dusty set up a chair and sat in the ring.. and this was all going on during the PEAK of the match. It's bothering me that I can't remember the participants.. Someone please try to help me out!
eiker_ir Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I'd also like to point out the incredibly underrated Benoit/Matt Hardy match from the opening round of the United States Title tournament I believe it was, as a great match Benoit had on SD, among many others. yeah it was the SemiFinal of the US Title Tournament, awesome match. Hardy was great when he broke his nose and went all crazy side-effecting the shit outta Benoit and then the V1 Headbutt. Then ending was great too with the mid-air counter of the Top Rope Side Effect. Good match
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 Damn near any Big John Studd match.
JoeDirt Posted November 1, 2004 Author Report Posted November 1, 2004 DDP vs. Curt Hennig - Starrcade 97 I just watched that show for the first time the other day and while that's not a good match, the Buff Bagwell vs. Lex Luger match is a MILLION times more boring. Just a HORRIBLE match that goes almost 17 minutes!
Guest MikeSC Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 I guess El Gigante matches are too easy to select. Hell, give me Morton v Gibson (Bash 91) for the most shockingly dull match ever. -=Mike
