Guest T®ITEC Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Ah, yes. It's that time of year again, when we give gifts to our friends in family,... so they hopefully don't try to kill us in our sleep. This is the first time that I've had to shop for a pregnant woman. She's due in late March, as an aside. Anyway, I'm not totally sure what to get her. Baby stuff, sure, but what exactly? She's five months along, so a stomach kick would prob. be considered murder at this point. Any other ideas are welcome.
Slayer Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Seriously, I don't fucking know... remember, you're talking to a board filled mostly with young single males.
Guest Vitamin X Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I hate the whole concept of obligatory giftgiving at the end of December, it seems like we're all forced to celebrate Christmas regardless of religion. But anyways, on with the thread..
LaParkaMarka Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 All seriousness aside, get her a subscription to Parenting magazine or something. Maybe a baby names book.
geniusMoment Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Buy her a new car, not on the cheap either. Get your ass in gear, get out to a high quality dealership and buy the stupid bitch a car.
2GOLD Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Baby bottles, baby clothing, car seat, baby monitor, or something to that effect. It's really not that difficult, go to any department store and walk down the baby aisle. Just grab something. Or you could be the kidder of the group and get a gag gift for the mother, like earmuffs or something to that effect.
Guest ShootingStylesPress Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Or gag-gift and a real gift, so you don't look like a cheap ass.
Exslade ZX Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 A donkey punch. >_> What? But ummm..somewhat seriously, who says you have to get her 'a baby thing'? Why can't you just get her whatever you would get her even if she wasn't pregnant..
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Money, if you don't know what to give cash is always the best option. People can always use money. I know I'd rather half the people that gave me gifts would just give me cash.
2GOLD Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Get her a bullhorn. Tell her she can take it into the labor room. Then everyone in the hospital can hear her when she gets pissed off.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 If she doesn't have one, get her a baby's daddy...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I'm a master gift-giver. Don't get her any baby crap, she'll get enough of that when she actually hatches out this kid. Get her a scented oil diffuser or burner of some variety, and a supply of lavender. Girls like things which smell good, I've found.
Guest T®ITEC Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 So many creative ways to kill a baby...
Guest Vitamin X Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I know I'd rather half the people that gave me gifts would just give me cash. See, isn't that kind of going against the whole point of buying something for someone you know? Putting thought into it? Ah, fuck people who think I'm obliged to give them a present because I know them.
MrRant Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Gift card to a store where she can get either herself or the baby something. Like Walmart or something.
Corey_Lazarus Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I was thinking Home Depot, where she could train her baby in how to properly use the different sizes of Alan wrenches and how to build a fallout shelter from sheet metal, oak, and concrete.
Guest T®ITEC Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Snitsky's keychain? That's a winner.
