What to get an expectant teenage mother?

Ah, yes. It's that time of year again, when we give gifts to our friends in family,... so they hopefully don't try to kill us in our sleep.

This is the first time that I've had to shop for a pregnant woman. She's due in late March, as an aside. Anyway, I'm not totally sure what to get her. Baby stuff, sure, but what exactly?

She's five months along, so a stomach kick would prob. be considered murder at this point. Any other ideas are welcome.

I hate the whole concept of obligatory giftgiving at the end of December, it seems like we're all forced to celebrate Christmas regardless of religion. But anyways, on with the thread..

Baby bottles, baby clothing, car seat, baby monitor, or something to that effect.

It's really not that difficult, go to any department store and walk down the baby aisle. Just grab something.

Or you could be the kidder of the group and get a gag gift for the mother, like earmuffs or something to that effect.

Or gag-gift and a real gift, so you don't look like a cheap ass.

A donkey punch.

>_> What?

But ummm..somewhat seriously, who says you have to get her 'a baby thing'? Why can't you just get her whatever you would get her even if she wasn't pregnant..

Money, if you don't know what to give cash is always the best option. People can always use money.

I know I'd rather half the people that gave me gifts would just give me cash.

I'm a master gift-giver. Don't get her any baby crap, she'll get enough of that when she actually hatches out this kid.

Get her a scented oil diffuser or burner of some variety, and a supply of lavender. Girls like things which smell good, I've found.

See, isn't that kind of going against the whole point of buying something for someone you know? Putting thought into it?

Ah, fuck people who think I'm obliged to give them a present because I know them.
