CBright7831 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?
alfdogg Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 The fans were throwing shit at them...Ben Wallace was being a punk because we were beating them, that wasn't a hard foul at all.
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 That whole thing was started by a foul committed by Ron Artest, on Ben Wallace. Wallace, however, overreacted to the entire thing. I think the whole thing really heated up when that fan threw the beer/soda (whatever it was) on Ron Artest. I don't blame Artest for going after that guy, either.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 They shouldn't be hitting fans though. Throwing the beer was stupid but now the lawsuits are going to fall over this.
alfdogg Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Jackson especially is gone for a while.
Gert T Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I don't blame the Pacers for going after Artest, but when Jackson went right by him to go after the fan was also a catalyst for fans going nuts. Unreal scene in Detroit.
Precious Roy Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Fuck it, it's not PC but Artest did what most of us would do in that situation. I've got respect for the way he tried to handle it. First he gets attacked by Ben Wallace, pretty much unprovoked, then he's lying on the scorers table, waiting for things to calm down, and a fan gets up close and just absolutely nails him in the face with a cup of beer. I hope Artest got some good shots in on that guy, he looked like a nerdy little faggot too.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Yeah that was really stupid. Artest had some amount of justification but Jackson was just a moron.
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I hope Artest got some good shots in on that guy, he looked like a nerdy little faggot too. I hope he did, too. and from what I could tell, he got a good one on him.

Too bad Jermaine O'Neal didn't get any of those fans throwing shit on him.
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 There should be more fights in the NBA.. especially since the NHL is going away
Cuban Linx Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Jackson's definately in the most trouble out of the players, he was already wound up just by Wallace's shove on Artest moreso than anyone else, after the fans started throwing things he just went nuts.
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Too bad Jermaine O'Neal didn't get any of those fans throwing shit on him. He should have got that one that poured the drink on him just as he went under the tunnel. You could see that one coming from a mile away, too.
Mik Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 That was one of the craziest thing I've ever witnessed. I had the TV on mute as I was on the phone and I looked up just in time to see it. There should be NO ACTION taken against any of the players. There were 4 or 5 fans, and one of them was a HUGE motherfucker throwing punches at all of them. Jackson was trying to help out Artest. And Artest had every right to go into the stands. Every single player got absolutely pelted with shit on the way out. Detroit, as an organization, should be fined. The Pacers should receive no suspensions or fines, they did what anyone would do and that's protect themselves and their teammates.
CBright7831 Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 I'm at a loss for words right now. That was a great, yet sad moment.
DerangedHermit Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Fuck that shit. DROP THE BOMB ON DETROIT.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 The players are absolutely at fault. You DON'T go into the stands after fans. The only time attacking a fan is justified is if he comes onto the court.
Precious Roy Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Actually, J-O got DOUCHED with beer and peanuts and shit as they were escorting him into the tunnel. People were just lining up around the entrance to throw shit on the Pacers. Jackson straight up went off, he was the most active guy in going after Wallace too. He was keyed up. Artest on the other hand looked like he was losing his mind, but also totally in control. He had that, "I'm gonna kill a motherfucker but I'm gonna chill while doing it" psychotic look
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 After looking at the replay of this for the 20340934093rd time, Jackson DID get a damn good shot on that fan. He nailed him, good.
bobobrazil1984 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 looking at the replays, Jackson seems way more pissed than Artest. 'the hell.
Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 It was funny that Croshere was the only guy not having shit thrown on him, to look from a different perspective.
Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 The only time attacking a fan is justified is if he comes onto the court. And one did.
Cuban Linx Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Although i didn't see it one of the commentators was saying at least one fan ended up on the court, some of the fans involved definately should be in big trouble. One guy took a big swing from behind at Fred Jones when he was trying to break things up, luckily he missed Shaq-going-after-Brad Miller style.
Agent_Bond34 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Two fans did.. And someone threw a chair, too.
Mik Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 It was funny that Croshere was the only guy not having shit thrown on him, to look from a different perspective. He got shit thrown at him too... He was just the last Pacer to leave the court. Don't play Michael Wilbon and make this into something it's not.
MrRant Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Next time the game will be at a neutral site in a cage.
CBright7831 Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 I'm awaiting this to be on the internet.
Lightning Flik Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Ok... I need to see this. That must be like an awesome footage. I'm checking out my sport channels to see if anyone has this down.
The Electrifyer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Jermaine O'Neal will be punished. There was one scene they just showed where O'Neal came right by the bench after the fan in the white Piston's jersey who was jawing at Artest and punched him square in the jaw. He landed probably the best hit by any of those players. The guy got knocked down HARD and laid down for a while.
