RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Fuck, I hate this board. Sam is the greatest heel ever. So smug. He's awesome. Liddell has been hilarious in this episode.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Forrest looks like Kane with his head shaved. ...Have I already said that?
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Well, Alex didn't get killed right off, but Forrest's ground game was just too good. Colour me impressed by Alex.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I enjoyed that fight, as short as it was. They need to bring back Alex. I am assuming the change has to do with the teammates facing each other, rather than the opposing team. But c'mon, Forrest vs. Sam would fucking own.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 "the rules have changed". Riiiight. They're gonna do the standard UFC mini-tourney, right?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Anybody else watching The Best of UFC on FSN? They just had Chuck vs Tito on.....what a beat down by the Iceman! Robbie Lawler vs Nick Diaz is next. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 SPOILER Shit, I still don't know how to use the spoiler tags properly. I am guessing Forrest leaves, and Bobby takes his place, explaining that picture of Bobby in the background.

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Is that cut seriously enough to keep Forrest out? He was bleeding pretty good, but still, they kept dude on crutches around for a while....

The athletic commission even places victorious fighters on probation for at least a month sometimes. I can't see them letting Forrest fight in less than a month. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I'm missing something here. Who said Tamura was a can? I did. Are you saying he wasn't expected to lose against Sapp?
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Did anyone else not realize at first what was going on when they pulled Forrest off? I though they were tending to the cut.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I'm missing something here. Who said Tamura was a can? I did. Are you saying he wasn't expected to lose against Sapp? People gave him as good a chance as they gave BJ vs. Hughes. I would like to think referring to Tamura as a can was a creative liberty along the lines of saying Coleman was the first guy who could take Fedor down, but I guess not. And damn, the stink of some of these guys' ground games permeates through the screen. I mean, at least Leben knows how to pull guard. How some of these guys have submission wins on their records boggles my mind.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I'm missing something here. Who said Tamura was a can? I did. Are you saying he wasn't expected to lose against Sapp? No, but still referring to Tamura as a can, especially looking at his performances against top 10 opponents in the past, is a bit of an insult to Tamura as a fighter. Lei, IIRC Arona took Fedor down like 3 or 4 times in their fight, am I remembering this right?
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Did anyone else not realize at first what was going on when they pulled Forrest off? I though they were tending to the cut. Nah...after about those three hard ass shots to the face, it was clear that Alex was out. Well not, knocked out, but unlike Josh Rafferty, didn't even look like he could fight back. He just began to cover up, and well...Forrest was just breaking through them, so yea, it was over.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Yeah, Arona took down Fedor a few times in their fight.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 The key works here are "in the past". He hasn't had a single impressive win in YEARS. He was set up to lose. Jobber. Can.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 The key works here are "in the past". He hasn't had a single impressive win in YEARS. He was set up to lose. Jobber. Can. Kind of like Sakuraba hasn't had an impressive win in years, yet would you call him a can?
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 He hasn't had a single impressive win in YEARS. True enough. I would argue that he hasn't been set-up with a good fighter in the <190 range since he defeated Minowa in DEEP. IMO, he could put up a good fight with quite a few of the best 185lbs. fighters in the world. He was set up to lose. Jobber. Can. See, now this is where we disagree. Penn, Ludwig, Kondo & others are guys who were brough in to lose matches that most people believed they had almost no chance to win. Some overcame the odds, some didn't. But regardless of what was epected of them, I don't consider those guys cans. On the other hand, you could have an evenly matched bout between KENGO & Wes Sims, yet both guys would still be cans. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Did anyone else not realize at first what was going on when they pulled Forrest off? I though they were tending to the cut. Well, I saw Alex tap, so I kinda figured it was over... If you watch the opening credits they show Forrest getting his cut tended to with a huge smile on his face (and shaved head)...I figured that was him after winning a match, so I pretty much knew he was going to win his fight. This show's great. Looking forward to the middleweight fight Monday, no matter who's in it.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2005 OK, as a guy that hasn't seen any UFC since the old days before Tank Abbot became a boy band groupie and the Shamrocks were THE last name in MMA, what fights would you recommend I catch? I've seen a couple Ortiz fights and a couple with some tall German guy who looked like he would be broken in half if you got inside his guard. Anything outside of that is an unknown.
