What the fuck was Shamrock doing at the end?

He just sat there when he was getting hit, he got out of tighter scrapes against Ortiz.

And Ken had no business throwing high kicks against Franklin either.

Oh man doesn't Ken fell like an ass? Slipped and got bombarded. Beautiful. I'm taping this for sure. Somebody who knows their UFC shit should give a list of other "must-see" matches since a lot of us have seen this as our first real exposure.

Damn, Ace went nuts there. Hard to blame the slip as Shamrock appeared to regain his senses and could have held onto Franklin and at least tried to pull guard.

So now the LHW division has Couture/Lidell/Belfort/Franklin/Griffin/Bonnar/Ortiz(?, eventually he'll sign), that is pretty stacked.

Everybody keeps asking this. UFCs 43-50 are all readily avaliable in stores on DVD. I would reccomend picking up any and all of them, as UFC has truly had a run of excellent shows the last couple years...

Some NICE poundage from Franklin to finish. That heelhookhad me SCARED. Good fight, didn't make Franklin though. The odds are it wouldn't have, but it would be great if Franklin called out the winner of Couture/Liddell.

Don't count on it, he's going back down to MW after this match.

Ken had nothing on that heel hook.

All around, a typically embarasing Shamrock performance. Satisfying end to his legend, if I do say so myself.

Give Ken credit though, he has the best face in the business for post-fight pictures. I think that thing swells up if he gets hit by a stiff breeze.

Come on Rich, stay at LHW where the money matches are. You aren't going to make jack fighting Evan Tanner. Of course Tanner/Terrell/Franklin is a nice top level for that division.

Don't forget Lindland, I still think he can beat any of those fighters at 185. Can't really count out Jeremy Horn, either, even though he hasn't fought in UFC in a while.

I just find Lindland boring as fuck. I know he would be in the top level, but to hell with him. And Horn, after reading Dana White's interview, I don't see ever being brought in or he immediately would go to the top.

I guess Sanchez is going to stay in the 185 division since that is what he won at? It will be interesting to see how he does moving into the UFC and moving up a weight level at the same time.

Explain, I got scared, especially when Franklin stalled for a bit there.

Vicious ending though, Ken seemed clueless on his back. He's not nearly as good at grappling as he'd like to have you believe.

What did Dana say about Horn?

I think Horn can beat anybody in the UFC's MW division right now.

Nice to see Bonnar get a contract too. I was expecting an extra round, honestly kind of surprised that Forrest won unanimous.

To answer a question someone posted, I was surprised there wasn't more takedowns, but like they said in the post-match interviews, they were in the mood for a shootout

And to answer another question, I'm looking forward to Diego getting a real test, not necessarily losing. I've got mad respect for his no nonsense approach, dude is a warrior, but it's not as easy to root for him as it is a guy with an engaging personality like Forrest. It'll be interesting to see how Diego reacts to taking punishment.....

Congrats to UFC, Diego Sanchez, Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffen, I think they won a lot of fans tonight. MORE UFC ON SPIKE!!!!111!
