JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 I loved the Rumble, but I didn't know what to think of the whole Hassan beatdown. London's bump was SO SICK. He almost landed on his head. He'll kill himself to get over, but sadly he never will. I really enjoyed the show. Thumbs up for me.
Repo Man jr 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 London on the apron ducked a clothesline from Snitsky (who was in the ring) but caught a second one and basically did a shooting star press onto the floor
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Great PPV! Approximate star ratings: Edge/HBK - ****. They just kept going, trying new things, teasing finishes, flowing together. Very nice. Taker/Heidenreich - **. What a fun little brawl. The run-ins were exciting and a few highspots kept this thing entertaining throughout. JBL/Show/Angle - ***. Your typical WWE Main Event 3-way, but this was fun with all the spots hitting and the excitement going. Again, the run-ins used were used quite well, and there was a nice little atmosphere to this one. HHH/Orton - ****1/4. Hey, I really liked this one. The story was great, with Orton getting the ever-loving shit kicked out of him and just trying so hard to stay in the match. The whole second half made it. Rumble - I can't really give a star rating to a rumble, but this was never slow and always entertaining. The small bunch of mini-stories really carried it through the entire hour. The Batista/Cena thing was a bit corney, but meh.

Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 And was London's elimination sick? Best. Rumble Elimnation. Ever! What was it on the TAKA scale? I thought he was dead man, Snitsky took his head off with a clothesline while London was standing on the apron, and London basically did a shooting star press flip off the apron. E.M.T's had to take him to the back.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Sounds like a great show...I see Cena getting the shot on Smackdown, obviously. As I was watching SNH I was thinking, what if they did some sort of screwy finish and I was close to being right. This is WWE's peak time of the year IMO from the Rumble to the week after Wrestlemania is when it gets me really interested. I was watching last year's rumble and noticed how wierd it was that only a year ago: Orton and Benoit were the first two men, and at Summerslam would fight for the title, Bradshaw was #5 and now is a main event player...there were other things that got me thinking too
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 31, 2005 I seriously can't get over how Fantastic tonight's Rumble Match was. It easily smoked 2004 and almost was on par with 1992. Rey was the MVP.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 And was London's elimination sick? Best. Rumble Elimnation. Ever! What was it on the TAKA scale? I would give it a 9.2 Did Orton suffer a concussion or something. That did NOT look worked at it. The guy's eyes looked lost and he was gooooone. Hebner even had to stop the countout because Orton was just standing there staring into space. Then when HHH had the sledgehammer Orton was just laying on his side not reacting at all. It was kind of scary to see that
Myxamatosis 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Iron man was Benoit again. He came in a #2 and lasted till the final eight or seven I believe. But yeah, I agree that London's bump was so sick!

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Benoit lasted 51 Minutes but he wasn't the REAL ironman. That would be Mysterio who lasted 42-45 minutes and actually never stopped moving. Benoit slipped into the background again like last year. Rey did over 10 million skin the cat spots. He had Edge chasing around the ring after him all night. Everything about the rumble was great.

Hebner even had to stop the countout because Orton was just standing there staring into space. Then when HHH had the sledgehammer Orton was just laying on his side not reacting at all. It was kind of scary to see that I think it was just part of the match because Jr and King kept talking about it to the point that it was the reason he lost clean to HHH. Plus while Hebner was cheaking on him it started the ref bump spot. Orton's concussion seemed like the story of the match but he did an awesome job of acting like it was legit. It was just like his match with RVD when he really got one.

He teased eliminations all night, flew all over the ring...the crowd was pissed when he was eliminated too, because he was PERFECT as the underdog of the Rumble. Aero 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 I thought the show was really good overall, only having a few gripes. Firstly, I was pissed they didn't replay the awesome Rumble history video from the end of Heat on the actual PPV. I'm guessing it was due to time constraints, because they didn't show the 3-way's either. Anyway, I would've liked to tape that. I thought the Rumble Match was really good, just not as good as last year's. I was only really disappointed with Eddie having no contact with Flair or Batista. I loved the HBK-Angle stuff, Raw vs. Smackdown, Simon Dean working out, and Hassan's elimination among others. For once, there was actually a little bit of uncertainty as to who was going to win when it came down to Cena and Batista. I don't mind the double elimination now that they actually did the sensible thing and had them fight, again. Everything else was good, except for the Casket match. Speaking of which, I seriously thought Heidenreich & Snitsky were going to start making out when they each said they liked each other. Surprise of the Night: A WWE PPV ends about 5 minutes before 11. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Fuck! I wanted Cena to win, they should have kept the ending as it was to keep both sides happy! I know the double draw has been overdone, but still! And wtf happened to Puder? Wasn't he supposed to be number one? Edit: I keep forgetting Angle was the mystery man from SD, I kept hoping number 30 would be Lesnar because in the truly awesome video package for the Royal Rumble, there was no footage of him shown!
