JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Announcers should have talked about Benoit almost going start to finish two years in a row. Puder's beatdown made me laugh, I have to admit. Scary how small he looks next to these WWE guys...
Aero 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Seriously If any idiot tries to say last year's was better is either a stupid benoit mark or a brain dead fool. This rumble was fucking superb. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Rumble, but I'd probably have to watch it some more. Plus, 2004 will always rank high due to me being there live and seeing one of my favorites win. Tawren 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Seriously If any idiot tries to say last year's was better is either a stupid benoit mark or a brain dead fool. This rumble was fucking superb. Sweet Jesus on a stick. Who is the brain dead fool? What a terrible show. A bunch of go-nowhere brawls and sloppy shit on the undercard. Terrible Rumble as well, with Misterio as the only good point. Benoit was in there from the start to the last man entering, and he was barely even acknowledged on commentary and was then just tossed out. Stupid finish, bad show. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Fuck! I wanted Cena to win, they should have kept the ending as it was to keep both sides happy! I know the double draw has been overdone, but still! And wtf happened to Puder? Wasn't he supposed to be number one? Why do somepeople fail understand things even when they were explained a thousand times? Puder was the first man ENTERED. Not the first entrant.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Did Orton suffer a concussion or something. That did NOT look worked at it. The guy's eyes looked lost and he was gooooone. Hebner even had to stop the countout because Orton was just standing there staring into space. Then when HHH had the sledgehammer Orton was just laying on his side not reacting at all. It was kind of scary to see that I think it was just part of the match because Jr and King kept talking about it to the point that it was the reason he lost clean to HHH. Plus while Hebner was checking on him it started the ref bump spot. Orton's concussion seemed like the story of the match but he did an awesome job of acting like it was legit. It was just like his match with RVD when he really got one. I think Orton was really fucked up, but the rest of the match went as planned. This was a case of JR and King HAVING to say something, because it was obvious something had gone wrong.
spman 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Well....The Rumble match was good. The undercard only ranged from really really bad (Taker vs Heidenreich) to mind numbingly dull (Triple H vs Orton). The Rumble match itself was really great, just like usual. Markout moments for me: The in-joke with Benoit and Eddie stiffing Puder, and then having Hardcore Holly come out and do the same. Smackdown vs RAW Muhammed Hassan Simon Dean Paul Londons elimination The Coach trying to beat up Kane My friends and I all screamed bullshit at the ending to the Rumble, although they did do a pretty good job pathing things up. Overall, thumbs in the middle for a great Rumble, with a shitty undercard.
Aero 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 I can't yall are overlooking the Worlds Greatest Tag Team/Team Angle. I was marking out for that. The second Haas entered, I was cheering for a WGTT reunion. It was awesome seeing them do the double team, but seeing Benjamin thrown out like that... And the second Haas started pummeling HBK against the ropes, I cringed, knowing that he would charge and be tossed over...

Scary how small he looks next to these WWE guys... Maybe, but he wasn't really the story to focus on. It should have been mentioned and made it seem Benoit could go all the way again, but it shouldn't have been emphasized.
res37618 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Seriously If any idiot tries to say last year's was better is either a stupid benoit mark or a brain dead fool. ...or they just have a different opinion than you. Here's my own damned opinion . . . The PPV was awesome - if UT/Heidenreich hadn't occured, it would've been even better. HBK/Edge was really good, would probably give that one ***1/2 UT/Heidenreich was * at best, the ONLY thing saving it was the Snitsky/Kane interference, and the bump with Heidenreich halfway in the casket getting a legdrop from UT. The WWE title triple threat was pretty solid, I thought. *** HHH/Orton was superb. I know, I'll get flamed because everyone's two least favorite wrestlers were involved, but sue me - I liked the match. **** The Rumble itself was off the chain. Better than 04, on a pretty even par with 92. The ONLY thing that killed this Rumble was the ending, and I can even look over it, considering Vince probably busted a nut AND a kneecap trying to get in the ring. I have a feeling that he was supposed to speak and restart the match, but the whole thing went to hell when he couldn't even get in the ring properly. ****3/4 As a whole, it's one of the best PPV's in the last 5 years, without question. I'm stoked about WrestleMania, even moreso than last year. HHH/Batista will hopefully have a "big match" feel (assuming that's the route they take), and Angle/HBK should be about ten kinds of wrestling goodness. slimm44 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Sounds like a great show...I see Cena getting the shot on Smackdown, obviously. As I was watching SNH I was thinking, what if they did some sort of screwy finish and I was close to being right. This is WWE's peak time of the year IMO from the Rumble to the week after Wrestlemania is when it gets me really interested. I was watching last year's rumble and noticed how wierd it was that only a year ago: Orton and Benoit were the first two men, and at Summerslam would fight for the title, Bradshaw was #5 and now is a main event player...there were other things that got me thinking too Are you telling us Daniel Puder will be WWE Champion in 2005? No, I was just saying how weird it was to see how things change

His body language and mannerisms were too damn convincing....he aint THAT good. That glossy look in his eyes looked legit. The bump he took after HHH hit him and the ref wasn't even a bump. the guy just feel down trying to hold the ropes. I don't know, looked too real

There was so many crazy things going at once, how could they just focus on Benoit? I understand you think it's smark double standard, but the guy fuckin won the thing last year. I've seen Rick Martel get more hype in-match for his 91 iron man performance in 92 than Benoit got during the past few weeks.

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Mysterio's work tonight was beyond remarkable and It nearly trumped Flair's performence in 1992. It easily beat Benoit's ho hom performence last year.

There was so many crazy things going at once, how could they just focus on Benoit? Agreed. I'm a huge Benoit mark too, but hell, he's not the only wrestler in the WWE. I think if some of you had it your way, you'd just produce about 65 clones of Benoit, and they'd wrestle each other in every match, every night, for every title. Enough already. So they didn't focus on him the entire night - it didn't ruin the match . . . although I'm sure a ton of you guys are calling it "Worst PPV Ever" since he wasn't the focal point of the Rumble match.
