Priest Holmes for me. It's the most flexible name ever, I could just as easily see him assassinating the cultural elite as I could see him being a top level male pornstar.

I always thought "Tyson Chandler" screamed horrible soap opera name, not 7ft professional basketball player.

I laughed at Scientific Mapp so I looked it up to see if it was real...Came across a nice list:

5. World B. Free --- Former NBA

4. Majestic Mapp --- College Basketball

3. Scientific Mapp --- College Basketball

I don't think ones that the player legally changed his name (World B Free) or uses a nickname (Tree Rollins) should count. I mean, Sleepy Floyd was listed as an honorable mention, and his real name is Eric Floyd ... that's not to exciting at all.

It should really be limited to an athletes legit birthname.

My vote goes to Mario Lemieux ... the first name is pretty 'meh' but I'm pretty sure Lemiuex means something like "the best" or something comparable in French. Any time one of the best that's ever played a sport has "The Best" for their last name, it's pretty fitting.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Earvin "Magic" Johnson. I know Magic isn't his real name but it might as well have been.

I always liked NFL players with bad ass names like Kenyon Rambo, TJ Slaughter, Tank Williams, and Arnaz Battle.

And who can forget former NBA player Ala Abdelnaby?

"Razor Shines" has got to be a comic book villain, a real person cannot be named "Razor Shines"

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, its funny to watch a Packers game and hear how the annoucers don't even try to pronounce his name. The first couple times I thought they had a guy named Kay Gee-Bee.

I want Razor Shines to fight Priest Holmes.

I am still waiting for Priest Holmes to have a monster game and see a headline that says "Priest molests XXXXX's defense" (XXXXX = whatever team it occurs against).

Versus the Cowboys "Priest molests Boys defense"

I saw Bubakar Aw mentioned up there for boxing? I remember he played college basketball at Georgetown with a guy named Ya-ya Jia. Awesome team, that was.
