CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Alright, to counteract the unexpected moments thread, what were some moments that you saw coming a mile away, but were suppose to be a surprise? I'll say when Triple H attacked HBK to turn heel prior to their Summerslam '02 match.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Austin turning on team WWF at Invasion. Rock turning heel at Survivor 98. WWE is so bad about their shocker turns, there are too many to name.
Guest Stunt Granny Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Austin turning on the WWF at Invasion.
strummer 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Sid turning on Hogan in 92. All of Hogan's "friends" always turned on him.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 I hate to beat a dead horse, but Austins turning at Invasion. Triple H being "Assaulted" by Batista before his match vs. Benoit on the 11/22/04 RAW. Triple H attacking Shawn Michaels to lead into Summerslam 2002. Kane turning heel on Undertaker at Rumble '98. Vince McMahon being the Higher Power.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Also, the Trish turn, but I didn't mind seeing it coming because Trish pulled it off real well.
strummer 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 In that same vein, Kurt turning on Eddy last year. Saw it coming a mile away, but it was so effective it left a lasting impression.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Trish turning on Jericho. Angle's masterful abduction of what's her name a couple weeks ago. Evolution turning on Orton. it goes on and on and on...
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Lita having a miscarriage was painfully obvious... unless someone smoked something they shouldn't have and had her give birth to a foot.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Ah, here's a relatively recent one that was really, really obvious: Booker T turning on RVD. I mean, in the segment before, he was pretty much telling Rob he was going to turn on him.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 You can usually see a Big Show turn coming, he's tunred more than anyone since he debuted in the WWE
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Kane is a good challenger to that statement. He's been heel/face so many times I've lost track. Big Show seems to turn on a semi-monthly basis. (this must be his longest face run... 4 months).
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 I saw this thread coming. But I'll play along, I guess. I saw Eric Bischoff counting Shawn's shoulders down too coming on the Dec. 03 Raw where Michaels "won the title" in San Antonio. The way Eric shifted to clearly look at the shoulders (IIRC) and the way Michaels fell and Trips moved his own arm so Shawn could be flat on the mat gave it away. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 I'm surprised they didn't do the same thing at Armageddon '03 (Shawn did the exact same spot against Batista).
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Every heel turn for roughly the last four years.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted February 7, 2005 When Austin would pin a guy after the Stunner. -=Mike
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Steph turning heel at Armageddon 1999. Jim Duggan turning heel and joining Team Canada in WCW in 2000. And so, so many others.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 I would put Stephanies as shocking, since we've seen her as the innocent type for the better of a year and she really didn't look like she could pull off a heel turn.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 When Austin would pin a guy after the Stunner. -=Mike Was that suppose to be surprising?

LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 HHH "turning" on Austin during the "Who ran over Stone Cold?" angle. No, Hunter's utterance of "Hey, Austin, don't trust anybody!" didn't give it away. Not at all.
dpac 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 HHH being the one who put the Bradshaw vignette on Raw Last week, leading to Batista finding out and they battle at Mania, and HBK interfering at Cena and Angles NWO no 1 contender match.
MARTYEWR 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 X-Pac joining the nWo in 2002. (Worst part is that I was there live.)
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 HHH being the one who put the Bradshaw vignette on Raw Last week, leading to Batista finding out and they battle at Mania, and HBK interfering at Cena and Angles NWO no 1 contender match. To be fair, the Batista situation is still being played out, so don't count your chickens before they hatch. Maybe Ric Flair did it... OK, it's really obvious, but still, we might get swerved. Guest jumpingbombangel Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Ryan Shamrock slapping Ken Shamrock at (I think it was) St Valentine's Massacre.
CBright7831 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 At WM17, as soon as Vince McMahon came down to the ring, I knew Austin was turning heel.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Ryan Shamrock slapping Ken Shamrock at (I think it was) St Valentine's Massacre. Ken Shamrock: SLAP ME! Kinda gave it away... unless you meant the angle itself, then yeah, that was quite obvious too.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Paul Bearer as Kane's father. I called that one like, years ahead of time.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2005 Yeah, alot of WWF turns and big surprises such as... Jericho's debut Stephanie turning on Vince at Armageddon 99 Austin's turn at Invasion Kurt Angle's turn at Survivor Series 2001 Jericho winning the Undisputed Title Vince being the higher power Bischoff's WWF debut Ric Flair's WWF return
Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2005 Okay, here is the question though, which of all of the ones you mentioned were not "surprising" because you've read rumblings to the effect that they would become on the internet And also, which ones had the announcer acting the most shocked even though most people were NOT SHOCKED! I'd go with HHH Turning on HBK as one that ranks up there with Ross's reaction. I swear Face Play-By-Play men have to have the most gulible characters ever!
