Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Dates are up on the Warped Tour website. Of course, this is just the initial list. Academy Is All American Rejects Armor For Sleep Amber Pacific Atreyu Avenged Sevenfold Bedouin Sound Clash Billy Talent Bleeding Through Boys Night Out A Change of Pace Emery Fall Out Boy From First to Last Funeral For a Friend Gatsby's American Dream Go Betty Go Gratitude Greely Esates Gym Class Heroes Halifax Hawthorne Heights Hidden In Plain View Hopesfall HorrorPops Hot Rod Circuit Kinison Left Alone (BBQ Band) Mae Mest Midtown Millencolin Motion City Soundtrack My Chemical Romance No Use For A Name Offspring Plain White Tees Reggie & The Full Effect Relient K Senses Fail Silverstein Strike Anywhere Strung Out The Bled The Explosion The Fight The Matches The Starting Line The Transplants A Thorn For Every Heart Thrice Tsunami Bomb The Unseen Underoath Yesterdays Rising ZAO I'm there regardless of the line-up since it's free for me, but if they add Bad Religion, I'll be extremely happy. I believe Atreyu and Bleeding Through will become the first bands to do both Ozzfest and Warped Tour, though I may be wrong.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I read the rumored list on SmartPunk a couple weeks ago, I believe it was. They've apparently added some bands to that and did not name others who were rumored. Of course, they'll likely add quite a few more to the official list before summer comes around. The lineup doesn't appear as good as last year's (yet) but it still looks liks a great show. But where's Jimmy Eat World? At any rate, Warped continues to be the best concert value in the history of the world. So many good bands for $35... This'll be my first non-St. Louis Warped, and they're hitting the location closest to me, Long Beach, twice, so maybe I can see all the bands I want to see and get twice the sunburn! NOTE: Thrice, Tsunami Bomb, The Starting Line, and The Transplants are listed twice there.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Jimmy Eat World is going on tour with Taking Back Sunday, so I don't know if they'll still be busy by the time Warped rolls around. They're never on the tour.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I heard that they're touring with TBS, but they were also listed on Smart Punk for Warped. As far as I know, neither is confirmed. I'd love to see a JEW/TBS tour, though, even after I was almost trampled and suffocated during TBS's set at Warped '04.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Was it the Pontiac, MI set? Cause the same thing happened to me and everyone else there.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 No, it was St. Louis. I got up near the front, and it was already pretty uncomfortable since it was over 100 degrees out there with the heat index factored in, and everyone was packed tightly together on a blacktop at the UMB Bank Pavilion. Once TBS hit the stage, everyone shoved forward and my 125-130 pound frame was smashed in between several rather rotund fellows. I barely lasted 2 songs before I had to fight my way out of there (which took a good 5 minutes or more) and I practically collapsed on the grass.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Same thing, I was a long way back to start and as soon as they hit the stage everyone rushed and I had to keep up, so within 10 seconds I was like 5th row. They got maybe 30 seconds into their first song before they had to stop to let people up. I stayed up for 10 minutes or so, never going down, but helping a ton of people up. When they stopped again to let the crowd up I actually had to piggyback a girl out of there, which was fine cause I was leaving myself. I stayed in the back and watched the rest of the set from there. Heat and all the whole thing would have been bearable, if not for a neverending line of crowdsurfers weighting down an exausted crowd. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Dropkick Murphys, Strung Out, My Chemical Romance, Fallout Boy and Transplants? Count me the fuck in.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I saw My Chemical Romance and said "count me the fuck out."
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 *waits for replies from music elitists who's taste in music is obviously better than everyone elses* Hi.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Speaking of Andrew W.K., though, I'm trying to go see him for the third time next week.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 They should add Social d to the list of acts. They just released their first album in 8 fucking years, and could show the kids a thing or two about Punk rock. And I'm trying to make my way up to Columbus next Friday to see them. I'm not sure who's opening, but who cares? It's MIKE FUCKING NESS.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Glad to see The Academy Is... on the tour. I really like some of their new stuff, especially "Attention". Also, I saw TBS and FOB while they were on tour with Matchbook Romance and A Thorn For Every Heart, so if TBS/JEW come anywhere close to me, I'll definitely be hitting that one up. Have the dates been announced yet? Does anyone else believe Fall Out Boy could be the next huge pop-punk band? I was going to list them in the "Bands To Watch In 2005" thread, but never got around to it. I guess it'll have to depend on their new material. I'd love to see Underoath, has anyone here seen them live yet?
Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 *waits for replies from music elitists who's taste in music is obviously better than everyone elses* Looks awful. There's not a single band on there that I would see even for free. Sorry I'm late.
Sonic Reducer 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 I can only stand one of those bands. And even then, I'm not that big of a fan of MCR.

I'd rather see them live by themselves.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 *waits for replies from music elitists who's taste in music is obviously better than everyone elses* Looks awful. There's not a single band on there that I would see even for free. Sorry I'm late. I quoted this to point out the YNA is, like most people who complain about music "elitists", a hypocrite, and that I agree with what Coat boy said.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Updated the list. Newer bands in bold.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Since it's all in vogue here, I'd go to this show for free to hit someone from Strung Out with a shoe.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Pretty good lineup, if you're a fan of the genre. I really like Emery, Senses Fail and A Thorn For Every Heart, so I'm glad to see them on the bill as well. Hopesfall put on a great live show as well. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2005 Gatsby's American Dream That can't possibly be anything good. If you're going to pull a band name from F. Scott Fitzgerald, why would you use anything but Dick Diver (from This Side of Paradise)? It writes itself.

Good point, but I'd like to see it for the education factor. The kids today don't know anything about good punk music, and I can't think of a better teacher than Ness. Well, maybe Paul Simonon. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Boy, I really haven't kept up with the punk stuff since leaving college...I don't recognize about three-quarters of the bands on that list But I guess I'm more into the "old school" stuff like Rancid and Social D than the newer stuff now.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Rancid did the tour in 03. Had a great set, although every goddamn song started with "And this one's off our new album."
