Twisted Intestine Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Who uses/used the "Cheer up emo kid" sig? Thank you.
Shooting Star Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Who's the guy with the chick magnet sig?
Twisted Intestine Posted February 21, 2005 Author Report Posted February 21, 2005 I wanted to post it on this girl's live journal, who makes fun of emo kids, yet had an extremely emo post. Edit: But I googled it and just posted the button instead.
Garth Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Fair enough. Calling people Emo is fun if just to see them try and find reasons why they're not Emo. Especially when they're Emo as fuck.
Sideburnious Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Do you actually know the two kids in the pic G Money?
Garth Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Nope I don't, I know plenty of people exactly like that though. It's quite sickening.
Black Lushus Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 what exactly is an emo kid? based on that picture, I know some folks that dress that way (people in their 20s, mind you)...is it just the clothes or is it a personality type as well?
cbacon Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 They have emo kids in England? Damn globalization.
The Metal Maniac Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 is it just the clothes or is it a personality type as well? If I'm not mistaken, it's not only clothes, but a "woe-is-me" attitude and, well...listening to emo music.

Garth Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 They have emo kids in England? Damn globalization. Oh God yes, Englands youth culture is at current primarly made up of either Emo Kids or Chavs. It's a sad sad truth.
The Czech Republic Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Englands youth culture is at current primarly made up of either Emo Kids or Chavs. What's the difference between a chav, a chave, and a chave!?
welshjerichomark Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 They have emo kids in England? Damn globalization. Oh God yes, Englands youth culture is at current primarly made up of either Emo Kids or Chavs. It's a sad sad truth. Too true. If you go a website like a faceparty it can be totally split down the middle between: Chavs: Who use text speak, list sex and alcohol as their hobbies and always post pictures of a) Their bare torso b) Their cars (Usually Vauxhall Novas with a body kit on it c) Their tatoos. Emo kids: Tend to spell quite nicely, but list their favorite bands in the about me section because they have no personality and have lots of photos of themselves wearing eyeliner. Once you group them, you're basically left with myself and G Money representing the normal kids in Britain.
welshjerichomark Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Okay i thought i'd take the time to show three prime examples of each. There are many more....trust me. http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F50DE0 http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F515C6 http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F518E8 --------------------------------------------- http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F51BF1 http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F53374 http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F53374
Garth Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Once you group them, you're basically left with myself and G Money representing the normal kids in Britain. It would be funny if it wasn't so desperatly true. Britain is made up of totally generic people.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 http://faceparty.com/member_profile.asp?me...&acstr=Z1F51BF1 This guy isn't that emo, he lists some metal bands as his faves. He likes some black metal, but you can tell he's not tr00. But he is gay and whiny.
Guest Museite Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Maybe I've been out of the country for so long that I missed it, or maybe I don't associate much with them...but I've never heard of a 'chav'... go figure... Incidentally it would appear based on your criteria I maybe approaching the Emo side of affairs...
cameron chaos Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Britain is made up of totally generic people What does that even mean? As opposed to brand x people? And if you are looking to group people, what about pop teens, pramfaces, "lads", goths, punk posers, indie kids, scousers... all are around in Britain. And Welsh people aren't normal. Just watch and listen to them. No one that produces that much saliva when talking can be 100% normal. Also, for clarification, these are what chavs look like. So like wiggers, except Nike instead of Sean John.
Anorak Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Maybe I've been out of the country for so long that I missed it, or maybe I don't associate much with them...but I've never heard of a 'chav'... go figure... I only recently became aware of this Chav term as well. When I was at school the word was 'dodgeite'. The word Dodge basically meant = Taxdodger/Unemployed/feckless yob etc but became more commonly used to describe a certain area (he/she lives WHERE? I'ts fucking dodge around there you know). As a result, the term 'dodgeite' came about to define you were talking about an individual. Acting like a braindead yob = Dodgeite. A stereotypical dodgeite would have had a baseball cap, big puffa jacket, closely shaved head and been a smoker. East 17 were the official pop group of dodgeite's because they all looked and spoke like one. A Chav seems more image-consciouss and define themselves by their lifestyle rather than just by their disorderly public behaviour at weekends or on the occasional schoolday. I've probably got it all wrong but i'm too old to care anymore.
Guest Museite Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 I guess when I was in high school 'chavs' were 'townies'
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Britain is made up of totally generic people What does that even mean? As opposed to brand x people? And if you are looking to group people, what about pop teens, pramfaces, "lads", goths, punk posers, indie kids, scousers... all are around in Britain. You fuckin twat. It's an actual word, not a slang term to describe a clique. ge·ner·ic adj. 1. Relating to or descriptive of an entire group or class; general. See Synonyms at general. 2. Biology. Of or relating to a genus. 3. 1. Not having a brand name: generic soap. 2. Of or being a drug sold under or identified by its official nonproprietary or chemical name. 4. Grammar. Specifying neither masculine nor feminine gender: generic nouns like waitperson and executive.
Guest frowned Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 pramfaces this is without doubt my favourite classification. And here in Middlesbrough, "chav" is more than just an annoying fashion, it's a full on scourge - they are out to simply terrorise people and generally cause trouble. Although they're curiously less brave when seen walking on their own.
Star Ocean 3 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 urbandictionary.com has great defintions for chav
Art Sandusky Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 At least you don't have hipsters over there. You learned your lesson from the 60s.
Nighthawk Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 You're a hipster in training, you know. By the way, we ought to get rid of the scenester classification. They're not what we call them. Andy Warhol and David Bowie were scenesters.
Art Sandusky Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 You're a hipster in training, you know. Oh hell no. You're my boy and all, but hell no.
