Cool finishers

Crash Holly used the Styles Clash as a finisher towards the end of his career/life. He called it the Crash Landing.

I love Chris Hero's Hangman's Clutch. Like an STF, but with more of a cravat hold on the neck. Cool stuff.

Stretch plum is another good submission.

Low Ki's dragon clutch looks great, though I don't know if a lot of guys would want to take it because it looks painful to be in.

It would be cool to see someone start using a superplex for a finisher again.

Cross armbreaker/jujigatame is another great submission. There are so many good submissions out there and they give Chris Masters the friggin' full nelson.

Cobra clutch leg sweep is kinda cool, or just the cobra clutch is general. Have Slaughter pass the move on to somebody.

Chandler McClure, a midwest indy guy does a move called the Touchdown which could work. It's sort of like Bubba Ray's Bubba Bomb except with the guy facing him and not away from him, and he hooks something other than a full nelson but I can't quite remember what.

I was always surprised during the Russo days that a cruiserweight didn't use a small package as a finisher, and then they could make jokes about him having a "small package".

Someone should bring back the Texas Cloverleaf. Also, what about Luger's Torture Rack?

Indy guy Roderick Strong does some awesome backbreakers that could be used. Half nelson into a backbreaker, powerbomb into a backbreaker, over the shoulder (like A-Train used to do), etc.

I'm surprised someone hasn't stolen Abyss' Black Hole Slam.

Nobody is currently using an inverted DDT, or an Implant one like Goldust's Curtain Call.

And finally, what about the HEART PUNCH??? B-)

What's the Black Hole Slam out of curiosity?

A big guy could do a muscle buster. Haven't seen anyone use that besides Samoa Joe and Malenko.

Good idea with the muscle buster.

Black Hole Slam is kind of like Bossman's old slam. They come off the ropes, and he grabs them into a swinging uranage type slam thing.

Heidenreich uses a Black Hole Slam

A Crappy version though

I wish Eugune would use the Torture Rack, but as more of a transition. Just something fun.

I'm surprised Masters hasn't used it yet. I'm sure he will sooner or later, along with a running forearm of doom and a rude reverse neckbreaker.

And then they'll introduce his cousin from Ireland, Mickey Finn.

I'd love to see Jericho use old school Walls of Jericho..the Liontamer. The same move, but the opponents neck and head were in a much more painful looking position. Know it looks more like a Boston Crab, witht the opponet turned more sideways.

A wrestling guillotine, basically an abdominal stretch with a crossface on the mat. Looks cool and is legitimately nasty if done right. Plus it can roll right into a pin.

I'd love to see someone bust out some T2P style submissions in WWE. A good one I saw, done by Milano Collection AT, was a STF with a Full Nelson, looked very cool.

I don't know if he does it anymore, since I haven't seen any of his recent work, but Magnum Tokyo used to do this swank STF variation that was almost a combination STF / Crossface. It looked absolutely brutal.

I'd like to second the person who suggested CIMA's Iconoclasm. That'd be a perfectly fine finisher or setup for a cruiser to use.

It would be cool to see someone start using a superplex for a finisher again.

Absolutely. A lot of the old school moves would make fine finishers. The full nelson isn't such a bad finisher, really, except that in this day and age it needs something more to be impressive. If Masters were to start off with a full nelson, then transitioned it into an Uncle Slam, then the move would work better.

Someone should bring back the Texas Cloverleaf. Also, what about Luger's Torture Rack?

The Cloverleaf would be a great finisher for someone to bring back; and a guy like Masters, who's being pushed on his physique, should have been given a power move like the Torture Rack. Or at least something like a Canadian Backbreaker.

And finally, what about the HEART PUNCH???

It would be more over than the People's Elbow, my friend.

I think the rikishi driver was less of an may injure the other guy, and more of a may injure himself, a 350 pounder, falling very quickly onto his ass like that would cause great stress to the lower back i'd say... just a thought, especially being done 200-250 times a year

Wow, I can't believe that people still remember the "Uncle Slam"

Anyhow, Edge's submission move (as called by JR) is actually called "The Edge-cator) as coined by Michael Cole on SD! back in 2002. It's called as such in all the SD PS2 games. But of course JR doesn't even know which one of Christian's moves is the Unprettier most of the time, nor does he even seem to know which one is Benoit and which one is Jericho. CRAZY SENILE JR (actually that would be a cool new character for him)

RVD did a flying pedigree variation in ECW, he did it in WWE for ahwile but that stopped (wonder why?)

I agree that the superplex can be a believable enough finisher. Orton should use it in tribute to his dad.

The Heart punch is not that believable to me, but Jesus' kidney punch that he created for Cena might be a cool new finisher. (If you really hit someone hard in the kidney, it could do serious damage) The opponnent could even have gimmicked tights and have bloody urine seep out (ok that's gross I admit)

I wish someone would use a move I invented in my head, put someone in powerbomb postion, but as you lift them to the air, as soon as his head is raised high, drop down into a ddt. (I named it "The Bronx Bomb") Don't know if this possible to do or if it's too dangerous, but I tried it on a wrestling buddy once lol

I think the superplex is a little too contrived to be someone's finisher. It would be nice to see big moves like that, once in a while, finish matches.

A cross-legged fisherman's suplex could be cool, and would probably look really hard to kick out of.

I thought a cool move would be: Set them up almost like a normal suplex, except their arm is loose, instead of being around you head (basically a headlock hooking the tights. Lift them up, quickly let go of the tights and grab the wrist around their head to drop into a DDT/Buster type of move.

Probably too dangerous.

Having them fall into a DDT would be a very difficult move to pull off, safely or otherwise but there is a variation of the move you're describing. The difference being that instead of a DDT you get thrown down into an X-Factor.

Crash Holly used the Styles Clash as a finisher towards the end of his career/life. He called it the Crash Landing.

Billy Gunn also used the move as a finisher during his last few shows with the company. I remember him using it a lot on Velocity.

Simple things like a Cross Leged Fishermens would be cool. Or a Wrist Clutch one or a Cross Armed Cross Leged one.

Catatonic type moves where indy flavour of the weekd at one point, but then most things are.

Add me to the list of people who would mark out for the heart punch. I think I say that EVERYTIME we do one of these threads, though, so no surprises here.

And I'd also mark for a return of the Cobra Clutch and/or the Tazzmission (yes, I know that there's a real name for it, but I'm way too lazy to look it up right here and now)

I think that Bastita should break out a new finisher to put away HHH at WM. I think it really help promote the character. The powerbomb is just too generic.

They need something to emphasize his strength. How about a Warrior Gorilla press slam?

In HHH's case, it would bring back fond memories of WM 12.

I would love to see a team bust out the Total Elimination.

For those who didn't watch ECW, or have never heard of the Eliminators, it goes like this:

It is a two-man combination of a sweep-kicking a guys legs out from under him while your partner gives him a spinning heel kick. It was a very simple-looking move that looked like DEATH when it was sold properly.

The Powerbomb is a standard-issue HOSS move, but Batista puts so much force behind it, that I don't mind seeing it. Plus, it pops a crowd something awful everytime he does it.

BIG DAVE had one move that I saw a couple times in old OVW footage that I would love to see him use again. It started off like Scott Steiner's Spinning Belly-to-Belly. He would wrap his arms around his opponent, spin the opponent around, then after he lifted the opponent off the mat, he would turn it into that SICK spinebuster he's been using for a while.

Move it fine, but "Batista Bomb?" Is that the best name that Ross (I presume) could come up with?

It's "Kata Hajime," you filthy round-eyed gaijin bastid!!

WWE's "change to a more submission-based style" policy *should* have led to more, and more credible, submissions used. Instead, it just means more restholds.

Billy Gunn also stole the Rocker Dropper and renamed it the Fameasser. That idiot has no original moves.

Johnny Ace actually created it though. There are few original moves in wrestling, so it's kinda moot. But if possible, wrestlers should make it their own (add something to it).

I liked the spinning gut-wrench powerbomb Page would sometimes do.

Sadly, that's what I typed when I was just guessing at it, but I did it as one long word so it looked all funky.

I remember having an OLD issue of an Apter mag and it showed Lord Humongous locking up Dick Murdoch in a kata hajime, and spending forever trying to figure out how to pronounce the word ... give me a break, though, I was like 11 at the time.
