Mercy Drive comments on Randy Orton's theme song

Recommended Posts

Someone e-mailed Mercy Drive about why "Burn In My Light" isn't available for download on their official website. This was the response they received:

thanks for the interest and support in our band. as fas as Burn in my Light

goes...we cant put it on the site cause the WWE pretty much fucked us on our

contract with them, lied to us about how the song would be owned and published

after we wrote it for them. so anyway, we're currently having our lawyer look

into it. keep checking the website for updates. when you get our album in, give

us a shout and tell us what ya think. im sure you'll love it since we really

dont even care for BIMLight..we only wrote in 2 days for them. if you like

BIMLight then i know you'll love the album. look forward to hearing from you

soon.

thanks for the support and spread the word,

Jake

So....are they like another Christian rock band? What the fuck is Vince's obsession with Christian rock?!!

That's not exactly the kind of email or message board posting that a Christian rock band would make, if I were to make a guess.

lemme guess, now people are gonna say Alter Bridge is christian rock just like "Creed was christian rock"...

Creed wasn't christian rock, they just sucked. I've heard a few christian rock bands that don't suck.

And I'm pretty sure Alter Bridge and this band aren't christian rock bands. Unless you hear the word "Jesus" and "God" or "his light" in every song, then they aren't christian rock.

Sounds like pretty much the same thing that Our Lady Peace said about WWE after writing "Whatever" for Chris Benoit. They do have a track record for this sort of thing.

Makes me wonder how Finger Eleven got away with Kane's theme on the Punisher soundtrack...

Cause they are just allowing the WWE to use it but they kept the rights to the song. Finger Eleven doesn't mind the WWE using it as long as they promote their new albums when they have one.

Guest Trivia247

Its a decent enough song pitiful that they didn't really get serious in realizing who they were dealing with in the WWE

God Trivia you're like the bastard child of BBCW and Choken One.

Taker: Kid you better be the Second coming for this Company to lay my legacy Down for.

Explain why you capitalized the words "second," "company," and "down." I just want your rationale, that's all.

I don't think it's Christian Rock...it's more like "completely boring and unoriginal coporate rock" in the vain of Creed that's the problem.

Because unfortunately in my typing I evidently subconciously type in caps for certain words as if trying to show in my head the importance of the words. as if it was spoken and those words would be a bit louder than the rest I don't know..

Its a gramical (And spelling evidently) error......

Thats all, if this somehow gets into another rant on expression vs perfect spelling and use of every function of the english language then Just give it a rest before you start it. This is a forum for wrestling Not GOD DAMN ENGLISH CLASS!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHH

oh wait that should be....

Ah hh hh hh

"Mercy Drive"......"Burn In My Light"......sounds like religious rhetoric

Mercy Drive is a major street in the band's hometown of Orlando, FL.

I don't doubt your story, but it doesn't make any sense to me since the song is just an amped-up version of Kane's old entrance music (plus lyrics).

Same way "Whatever" by Our Lady Peace is a reworked version of Benoit's old music.

(I'd read part of their beef with WWE on that was that they didn't like the fact the theme album was called "Forceble Entry" and someone in the band got their panties in a bunch because they thought the WWE was condoning rape.)
