NEW!! Episode III trailer........

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering...

Before SW I or II came out, was there this much info all over the net about them?

Like, I swear, you could find out the entire plot of SW III right now just by looking for it. Was it like that for the other films?

Palpatine vs. Yoda. I think a "Konichiwa, bitches" would be in order for that one.

The Anakin/Obi Won fight is supposed to be epic as well. I'm starting to get excited about Episode 3, even though I KNOW I shouldn't.

Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith director George Lucas was interviewed by CBS' 60 Minutes and says the third and final prequel will not likely receive the PG rating the previous five films have received.

"I don't think I would take a five- or a six-year-old to this," says Lucas, "It's way too strong."

Lucas is referring to violent scenes in the film and also to Anakin Skywalker's journey to the dark side in the climax of the 30-year-old

series. "We're going to watch him make a pact with the devil," Lucas tells the program.

He says Skywalker will be descending into Lucas' frightening vision of Hell, a mythical planet composed entirely of erupting volcanos. "Yes...the lava at the end...it ends in hell."

"[The film] is much more dark...more emotional. It's much more of a tragedy," adds Lucas. "My feeling is that it will probably be a PG-13, so it will be the first Star Wars that's a PG-13."

The interview will be broadcast on Sunday, March 13 from 7:00-8:00pm, ET/PT.

I remember seeing tons of stuff for Episode I, but half of it was fake.

IE, we see Anakin's father.

This is the same exact thing he said in the Vanity Fair article. Word for word.

Well, he is talking about the same film. There isn't a lot of leeway.

I knew when I heard how much shit Anakin was going to kill that there was no way in hell this would get a PG rating.

Is this the last movie? (I'm not a Star Wars fan) Because wasn't the like, first movie (the old one) "Episode VI" or something? (I mean, not the title, but isn't where this one ends where the series begins pretty much?

Congratulations on living under a rock.

Yea, because everyone is a Star Wars fan.

Yeah, I'm sorry, that was a little jerkish of me...

**looks at username**

Anyways, to answer your question:

Episodes 4-6 were released in the late 70s/early 80s and take place twenty-thirty years after the prequel trilogy (Episodes 1-3).

Episode 3 is the last Star Wars movie George Lucas plans to make. There were original supposed to be 9 movies altogether, but he decided against it after the focus of the series became the life of Darth Vader. Since Vader dies in Episode 6 ("Return of the Jedi"), there's no need to continue the saga.

does anyone else get pissed off when you're waiting in line for something, and you've been in line for a good hour or so, then suddenly 8 people show up to join the couple a few feet ahead of you who've been saving spots for them the whole time?

If it's something like you're gonna be out there for a while and the people are "rotating" the person standing in line, I can't really get mad, because it's good thinking.

no no no, rotating I can tolerate...I mean you've been sitting in line for at least a good half hour or so and all of a sudden some new people suddenly show up in front of you...

Well for Episodes I & II, the crowd was pretty good about letting people know how many total in their group there was going to be, and some just had to work later then others, and it was pretty much agreed upon everyone. Then again, the midnight showing was shown on I think five screens at the theater I went to, so there was plenty of seats to go around.

This time around me and my friends are going to go to the theater in my little section of town(at least I believe so) so hopefully everything goes as smooth. The theater here is bigger too.

Damn, I can't wait, my best friend is coming up from Houston, I haven't seen him in over a year.

:headbang:

How awesome has Palpatine been in the prequels? So far, he's been keeping it on the down-low, pulling *all* the strings in the background to orchestrate his rise to power, and then he finally, finally goes balls-to-the-wall bad ass in Episode 3.

"Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?" Dude should have "Bad Motherfucker" engraved on his lightsaber hilt. I thought Yoda busting out the lightsbaer skills was a mark-out moment in Ep. 2, but, man, I can't wait to see Palpatine do the same in Ep. 3.

Yeah, thats generally when I make the first scene. I usually go with the "Hey motherless fucks, what do you think you're doing?" I then continue on about wars and the history of human relationships. I reccomend a sociology class for them, and usually quiet back down.

The approach usually doesn't do anything, but you know, what else can you do when someone steps to your shit? Sometimes you just gotta rep.....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Lucas had better not fuck this up

Ep 1:Hated it

Ep 2:An improvement, but still felt like a missed oppertunity

Anyways, I marked out when Obi Wan shouted out "You Where the Chosen One!' Man the shits really going to hit the fan in this one

Episode 1 > Episode 2.

Seriously.

Take out the Jar Jar shit and I agree with you. However, take all the "romance" (that is, what Lucas THOUGHT was romantic dialogue) shit out and the pendulum swings back to ep 2.

I think that this is something that Lucas has done really well. In a way, the series as a whole has been all about Palpatine's rise to (prequels) and his fall from (original trilogy) power.

That is just a fan-made trailer. I saw it early last week and if I didn't know it beforehand, I would have thought it was the real thing.

Jar Jar was about 5% of Ep. 1, whereas the craptastic romance was 50% of Ep. 2.

The flaws with Ep. 1 were the slow pacing leading up to the pod race and bad performances from Jake Loyd and Jar Jar. On the good side, it had the pod race, Liam Neeson's performance, Darth Maul, and the kick-ass droid battle at the beginning.

Ep. 2 was a total trainwreck from start to finish (bad acting all around except for Christopher Lee...poorly executed battle scenes...extremely slow pacing for the entire first hour...horribly written romance...every set, even the ones which were suppsoed to be outdoors, being obviously CGI), with the only watchable part being the short battle between Yoda and Dooku (which was extremely cheesy, admit it).

Good points, but I still think that ep 2 > ep 1, because the "romance" (can you call it that when one channels Christopher Walken (in Pulp Fiction) in order to act romantic?) is the main focus of Act 2 (or was it 3?) and thus easily skipped over, while Jar Jar is kinda just there throughout the movie, so his 5% feels more like 95%.

In short, that they have different types of suck, and I think that having the suck all in on area is better than spreading it around. Just my opinion though. You like ep 1 better, all power to ya.
