TV Mark-Out Moments

Recommended Posts

This covers anything on TV besides wrestling. There's a folder for that.

I was watching a syndicated Spin City, which had Mike being all nervous because he was meeting his mentor for the first time in years. Lo and behold, who pops up but Christopher Lloyd. Being a BTTF fan, I let out a Holy Shit.

More:

- Puppet Angel

- Masturbating Bear unmasking himself, revealing Jim Carrey

- Triumph ripping on the Quebeccers. Yeah, I know. They couldn't have picked any worse humorless morons for this bit.

- Any Arrested Development episode. I mean, duh.

Discuss.

Ignore her, Rant, I love the shows too. If you ever get the chance, do see the episode called "The Body" from season 5, it just might change your mind a little.

My favorite moment: when the mom asks "How did you die?" in ep "So-Called Angels" of MS-CL.

Agreed on that one, I was only half paying attention then I heard his voice and totally marked out, heh

alot of 24 moments are mark-out moments, but I'll say when Jack finally takes out Nina.

When ECW entered the Invasion, when Hogan showed up in Montreal after Mania, oddly enough when Waltman showed up on RAW and joined DX, when Jericho showed up on RAW... all wrestling tv moments when I went NUTS.

When Lindsey showed up on Angel in Season 5, probably, was the biggest freak out moment for a non wrestling show. Like, I ran around the house screaming after that one. Luckily no one was home.

Oh, and when Angel said "Let's go to work" and the show ended with a bang. OMG that was sooooooooooooooooooooo awesome.

And when Buffy said to Spike that Willow was gay and Xander said something really funny and Anya didn't laugh because she is a demon and didn't get it and then Joyce died :(

And then there's the Buffy episode where Buffy didn't want to save the world but had to anyways :) LOL it wuz g8astic.

... I didn't know it was prohibitive to actually write down mark out moments you had when watching TV in a thread that was asking you about mark out moments you had when watching TV. I'll make a note of that next time. *Makes note of never talking about the subject at hand* I'm being a better poster already. Next up: not giving a shit about anything.

When Grissom took the stand and knocked it out of the park in The Accused is Entitled, and of course...

JIMMY TADERO: I can't believe you're doing this to me. I gave you your career.

CATHERINE: I earned my career and you did this to yourself. You fabricated evidence, Jimmy.

JIMMY TADERO: You were two steps away from turning tricks. This is the thanks I get?

(CATHERINE doesn't say anything. JIMMY knows that he's gone too far.)

CATHERINE: (hurt) I danced, period. And instead of feeling sorry for

yourself, think about this. When you were out there planting evidence on a case that you couldn't break, Stephanie's real killer got away. And he's still out there ... (pause) ... because you sold the one thing a cop can't afford to sell: Your integrity. So you tell me, between the two of us who's the whore?

In Carnivale when Brother Justin returns home and pretty much everything that follows, but especially when he gets all black eyed. When Management speaks. Actually... that whole last episode of the season was a giant mark out moment, given they had been building it up for the entire run of the show.

Guest Agent of Oblivion

I only watch television in passing, but here's a line that made me laugh.

From That 70's Show..

Kitty: Red, do you think I'm smart?

Red: Oh, is that what we're gonna do today? We're gonna fight?

The return of the Walker Texas Ranger lever.

Fuck yeah.

Jack having to kill Chappelle on 24 last season. I didn't think he would actually have to do it and then he puts in a bullet in the back of his head.

Little things in Arrested Development. Like when you see the Cornballer in the background, or Tobias' blue handprints all over everything, or whenever Barry shows up.

The only mark out moment I have had from Buffy in the whole time I watched it was season six.

Dark Willow, after kicking Buffy's ass and basically everyone elses, stands there and says, "And there's no one in the world with the power to stop me now."

Then she gets blasted with a ball of light, she gets up, nose blooded and looking basically like, "what the f*ck?"

Camera turns and there is Giles in the door and says, "I'd like to test that theory."

It was the equal of "Applesauce bitch".

But other than that, I didn't mark out another time in the seven seasons.

As for Angel

Wes. Shotgun then double handgun. Cause it was just cool.

Youth covered it but I'll repeat it anyway

THE SHIELD:

Vic shooting Terry. That was by far the "holy sh*t!" moment. I didn't see that coming.

And I second, "I'm going to need a hacksaw" from 24

Dave Letterman's cameo

Jerry stealing the marble rye.

Many things Adebisi did on Oz. Dude was awesome. Said was the only character worthy of killing him. If he had to go, that was the best way.

Other things from Oz:

-Jefferson Keane taking out the bride and groom as they exit the church.

-Cyril going nuts and brutally beating/stabbing people.

-Said refusing the pardon.

-Bricks: "Hey faggot, you done with your faggotry yet?" I still use that line. I like Bricks almost as much as Adebisi.

Schillinger and Robson had a lot of good stuff too. Funny lines from them:

Schillinger: *observes Muslims* "Yabba dabba do."

Robson: "Jihad? YEEE HA!"

I watched every episode of Buffy and Angel and the only mark moments I had were :

the already mentioned Willow ass kicking scene with Giles, and her " You called me a rank, arogant amatuer. Well, buckle up Rupert.....cause I've turned pro" with the music swelling.

The montage of big bads from the first show in season 7 was just one long mark out moment. Mostly because the little monologue kicked ass.

Willow's "Bored now" when she ripped all of Warrens skin off and burned him.

Yellow Crayon

Angel:

Wes and the magically appearing as from nowhere Shot gun,

Wes Stabbing Gun

"Personally, I want to slay the dragon"

Wes shooting whats his face after Angel gave his long "we will protect him even if he is evil, because he is human and human life means alot" then Wes kills him.

Illeriya A: Beating that car and everything in it to death, and B: Punching the wizard guy in the face and making his head explode.

Lornes "Good Night Folks" after he shot Lindsey to death.

...

Basically the entire last episode of Angel. I mean COME ON. They killed every character on the show. How can you not mark for that?

NewsRadio

Dave: "Bill? I stole your cane."

Followed by Bill running through a series of new canes. "This one displeases me."

The news blurb about the Death Star's destruction in the space episode.

Dave: "What really turns me on is when Lisa's mad at me."

Lisa (off screen, angrily): "DAVE! ARE YOU COMING!"

Dave: "Oh, yeaaaah."

The scene in the dark at the end of the episode where Matthew went to Japan.

Jimmy James's bookreading.

"I'm Bill McNeil...on CRACK...I like...BOYS."

During the episode when the building was on fire, and Dave is explaining the benefits of the key-card entry system for the office. He shows the 1 particular visual aid w/ the Hamburglar-looking guy on the horse, and Matthew says "hey, I've seen that guy!" (seen most notably in the episode where Katherine leaves, and that same guy knocks the coffee pot out of Matthew's hands in his version of the events).

GI Joe

The end of "The Viper" episode.

X-Files

Pretty much the entire episode w/ the vampires (had Luke Wilson and the 1 kid from The Sandlot in it). Not for those 2 guys, the episode was just so funny.

In "Diary of a Cigarette Smoking Man" (I think that was the title), when CSM says the Buffalo Bills will never win the Super Bowl as long as he is in power.
